IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Network Performance Example

If the customer has 360 MSUs being managed/monitored, the customer will require the following licensing:

MSUs
Managed/Monitored

360

The point value will be based on 360 MSUs as follows:

  • First 1, 2, or 3 MSU's at the Base 3 MSU point value
    • Next 42 MSUs at the Level A (4-45 MSU) point value per MSU
    • Next 130 MSUs at the Level B (46-175 MSU) point value per MSU
    • Next 140 MSUs at the Level C (176-315 MSU) point value per MSU
    • Remaining 45 MSUs at the Level D (316+ MSU) point value per MSU

Total Tivoli Management Points required =

    1745 + 42*260 + 130*20 + 140*15 + 45*11 (360 zSeries managed) = 8032

As the zSeries server grows, only the incremental number of MSUs is required.

Tivoli Management Points for IBM Tivoli NetView for TCP/IP Performance (5698-NTP) are also being changed as follows:

The anniversary date, established at the start of your Passport Advantage Agreement, recurs on an annual basis while your Passport Advantage Agreement remains in effect. However, regardless of when Software Maintenance is acquired, the coverage period for Software Maintenance is always up to the anniversary date specified in the acquisition.

Refer to the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement and to the IBM Software Maintenance Handbook for specific terms relating to, and a more complete description of, technical support provided through Software Maintenance.

Conversion of Licenses And Support

If you have Tivoli Support and/or Passport Advantage Software Maintenance currently in effect for IBM Tivoli NetView for TCP/IP Performance, you are entitled to eligible new versions and updates of IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Network Performance, which replaces the current IBM Tivoli NetView Performance Monitor and IBM Tivoli NetView for TCP/IP Performance. Existing users of IBM Tivoli NetView for TCP/IP Performance can use all of the components of IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Network Performance up to the level of MSUs, for which they are authorized, such usage is also subject to the terms of the IBM Program License Agreement (IPLA) and the applicable License Information (LI) document applying to these programs. An MSU is defined as millions of CPU service units per hour. For example, if you are currently authorized for 360 MSUs for IBM Tivoli NetView for TCP/IP Performance and you have Tivoli Support or Passport Advantage Software Maintenance currently in effect, you are entitled to use all components of the new IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Network Performance currently covered by your authorized level of use of 360 MSUs subject to the LI terms and conditions.

Customers with Tivoli Support in effect outside of Passport Advantage (that is, on 5698-SPT) will be contacted separately by IBM with information regarding the migration of their existing Tivoli Support to Passport Advantage and its conversion to the new product.

Customers may also contact IBM to request this migration to Passport Advantage and the related conversion.

Maintenance in effect for Tivoli products may convert to the new IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Network Performance maintenance at the time of the next renewal (that is, the next anniversary), or upon request if an earlier conversion is desired.
