IBM Content Manager CommonStore is a certified SAP archive solution that boosts user productivity by providing SAP-integrated access to the documents that complement a SAP system. It harnesses the growth of the SAP database and manages the archived electronic documents linked to SAP objects. CommonStore is seamlessly integrated with the SAP Business Workflow. CommonStore for SAP V8.1 provides secure document archiving for users of SAP. The basic CommonStore solution with Tivoli® Storage Manager (TSM) can be alternately extended with Content Manager and/or Content Manager OnDemand, to provide the foundation for broader enterprise content management.

CommonStore for SAP support archiving of SAP R/3 data. Regular archiving of old and unneeded data from SAP R/3 is recommended to maintain optimum online performance in using SAP and to minimize time required for database backup and recovery. CommonStore improves the business processes in an SAP environment by allowing the access of archived documents directly from the SAPGUI.
CommonStore for SAP can be implemented with Content Manager to provide an enterprise solution that covers all areas of data and document archiving for SAP R/3 and other enterprise applications. CommonStore for SAP allows enterprises to store their mission-critical information assets on optical jukeboxes or tape robots, and makes them accessible for the SAP R/3 users at the click of a button.
CommonStore for SAP seamlessly integrates Content Manager and Content Manager OnDemand and Tivoli Storage Manager with SAP R/3 using the defined SAP ArchiveLink interface. Program Server Installs
Your license to CMCSSAP entitles you to install one instance of the program server on one physical server or node. One CMCSSAP program server license authorizes you to access one SAP production system only (refer to below). To install additional program server instances on the same or on additional physical servers or nodes (to access one common or additional SAP production systems), you must acquire additional PoEs.
SAP Production System
A SAP installation consists of one production system and usually up to two or three other SAP systems (for example, for test and integration) that are identified by a common, unique SAP installation number. If, for example, a SAP installation does not consist of a production system but only a test and integration system, then one CMCSSAP program server license is required for each SAP installation environment. Since each SAP system (for example, the production system) can consist of multiple servers (one database server and one or more application servers), the licensing of CMCSSAP is not bound to the number of hardware components (SAP server systems).
You must acquire a CMCSSAP user authorization for each end user who will access the archive through a CMCSSAP program server to archive, restore, and/or retrieve either/or:
The total number of users may not exceed the number authorized by the applicable PoEs or authorized by each product authorization acquired under Passport Advantage. Otherwise, you must notify IBM or its reseller as stated in the IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA).

Software Maintenance, previously referred to as Subscription and Technical Support, is now included in the Passport Advantage Agreement. Installation and technical support for the product announced in this letter is provided by the Software Maintenance offering of the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement. This fee service enhances customer productivity by providing voice and/or electronic access into the IBM support organizations.
IBM includes Software Maintenance with each program acquired during the Coverage Period, the period commencing on the date you acquire the program up to the first or second anniversary date, depending on whether you acquired coverage for one or two anniversaries. The Coverage Period for Software Maintenance acquired in the two months preceding an anniversary date will be extended to the next applicable anniversary date.
