Overview

Now you can access your systems management data from virtually any system that has a Web browser. This solution provides you with Web access to data and eliminates the need to logon to the 3270 interface. It supports:

  • E-mail and pager notification
  • Change approval
  • Document attachments
  • Personal profiles and preferences
  • RACF® password reset
  • Toolkit for customization

Tivoli® Web Access for Information Management also delivers a toolkit to migrate existing 3270 Tivoli Information Management for z/OS™ V7.1 applications to the Web. Tools provided enable you to:

  • Analyze the existing data model
  • Build the necessary Web data model components
  • Dynamically build a set of HTML pages corresponding to the data model
  • Configure the Information Management and HTTP server configurations

IBM Tivoli Web Access for Information Management can be used to build an HTML Web browser interface for almost any record type application utilizing the full power of the OS/390® server, while requiring only common industry-standard skills. This enables users to access data from almost any machine with a Web browser (Netscape V6 or later, Internet Explorer V5.5 or later).

This software requires Tivoli Information Management for z/OS V7.1, and provides an out-of-the-box Web solution that delivers user-friendly access to systems management data.

This drop-in problem and change management Web solution can allow even the most casual user to quickly and easily manage problems and changes in a customer enterprise.

A toolkit, provided for customization support, uses a dynamic self-defining data model architecture to create HTML, which can help to reduce development costs.

Corporate staff tasked with the efficient operation of the organization may benefit from the capabilities offered with Tivoli Web Access for Information Management.

Tivoli Web Access for Information Management provides the means to manage problems and changes from a browser. Customers using Tivoli Information Management for z/OS can realize the benefits of managing problems and changes without having to directly logon to the 3270 interface. Specified Operating Environment

Hardware Requirements

Tivoli Web Access for Information Management requires a host processor that accommodates the software environment. The display station must be supported by ISPF when the TSO interface is utilized, and must have a minimum screen size of 24 lines by 80 characters. Tivoli Web Access for Information Management has no dependencies on any new or changed hardware equipment.

Security, Auditability, and Control

Tivoli Web Access for Information Management uses the security and auditability features of the operating system software.

The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities.

Basic License: Tivoli Web Access for Information Management is available for order through Passport Advantage only. However, the media for this product is shipped only via Custom-Build Product Delivery Offering (CBPDO). The CFSW configurator stand-alone path is updated to support this offering.

To order a basic license, specify the program number, feature number 9001 for asset registration, and the feature number of the desired distribution medium. Also, specify the one-time charge feature number from the tables below in the quantity desired.

The quantity of TMPs is based on MSUs.

Passport Advantage Software Maintenance

Software Maintenance (called Support for Tivoli products outside of Passport Advantage) is included with each product authorization acquired under Passport Advantage.

Software Maintenance provides an easy and effective way by which you have access, during the coverage period, to eligible new versions and releases and to remote technical support for your covered products.

The technical support included in Software Maintenance provides remote support during normal business hours in your country or location as well as access to escalation management 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for mission-critical (Severity 1) problems.

With Software Maintenance, you receive the following technical support benefits:

  • Telephone access and/or electronic access via the Web to an IBM Customer Support Center.
  • Support for routine, short duration installation and usage ("how-to") questions and code-related problems.
  • Support during normal country business hours, namely prime shift hours, Monday through Friday, excluding national or statutory holidays.
  • Support for mission-critical (Severity 1) problems during non-prime shift hours, namely all hours outside normal country business hours including national and/or statutory holidays.
  • Two-hour response time objective during prime shift for voice and electronic submission. The response objective for critical/emergency problems during offshift is also two hours.
  • Access to hints, tips, and frequently asked questions.
  • Access to escalation management 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • An Open Authorized Technical Caller list to submit problems to IBM Support Centers on your behalf. Open to any number of technical specialists within your IS organization. Each caller must be registered through the IBM problem submission Web site in order to submit problems. Problem submission is handled by the Site Technical Contact as listed on the Passport Advantage enrollment form.
  • eCare for Software — an initiative designed to enhance your electronic support experience by providing the following advantages:

Passport Advantage allows you to have a common anniversary date for Software Maintenance renewals, simplifying management and budgeting for eligible new versions and releases (and for related technical support) for your covered products. The anniversary date, established at the start of your Passport Advantage Agreement, recurs on an annual basis while your Passport Advantage Agreement remains in effect. However, regardless of when Software Maintenance is acquired, the coverage period for Software Maintenance is always up to the anniversary date specified in the acquisition.

Software Maintenance renewals offer you favorable pricing to continue your coverage without interruption.
