Tivoli® Distributed Monitoring can help solve this problem. This V3.7 release of Distributed Monitoring adds improvements to your ability to monitor key resources and also enhances the best practices support. It allows you to apply best practices out-of-the-box to automate the task of monitoring essential system resources, to detect bottlenecks and potential problems, and to automatically recover from critical situations which can save system administrators from manually scanning through extensive performance data.
Distributed Monitoring can also provide seamless integration with other Tivoli Availability solutions, including Tivoli Business System Manager and Tivoli Enterprise Console®, to provide a true End-to-End Availability solution.
Tivoli Distributed Monitoring requires Tivoli Management Framework V3.6.5, or later.

Tivoli requires Tivoli Management Framework V3.6.5, or later and runs on the following software platforms:
Security, Auditability, and Control
Tivoli Distributed Monitoring use the security and auditability features of the operating system software and the Tivoli Management Framework.
The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities.
Basic License: For ordering information on the base program, refer to Software Announcement 200-017 , dated February 15, 2000. If you require OS/390 platform support for your Distributed Monitoring solution, refer to Software Announcement 200-199 , dated June 27, 2000, and Software Announcement 200-100 dated April 25, 2000.
End of Support: Tivoli support for the 3.6 release of Tivoli Distributed Monitoring on the distributed platforms (not OS/390) will be discontinued 12 months after the general availability of the 3.7 release.
