Overview

More than 85% of today's business information still resides in paper files, microfiche, and other costly storage methods, often the result of the introductory costs of implementing Content Management technologies. IBM's new Content Manager Entry Bundle provides an affordable way for small businesses to incorporate customer information, order details, payables records, inventory levels, legal files, and much more into a centralized electronic content repository, with easy user search and retrieval using standard Windows™ clients or browser access.

With the three components of the Content Manager Entry Bundle (described below) customer service representatives can quickly find and view customer correspondence, invoices, bill payments, monthly statements, or other customer-specific information online, while they are on the phone. This rapid, on-the-spot service enables superior call center services, and boosts productivity levels while lowering operational costs.

IBM's new Content Manager Entry Bundle consists of the following products, licensed through a simple "per concurrent user" pricing metric:

  • IBM Content Manager for Multiplatforms Version 7.1 (V7.1)
  • IBM Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplatforms V2.2
  • IBM EIP Client Kit for Content Manager V7.1

The Content Manger Entry Bundle is available from IBM and authorized IBM Resellers. For additional information on IBM's Content Manager Entry Bundle, go to:

Component Products

IBM Content Manager for Multiplatforms V7.1 is an easy-to-use solution for storage, management, and distribution of all types of digital content, including text, faxes, images, audio, video, and common office application files such as Microsoft Word, or Lotus® 123 spreadsheets. Its intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) avoids customers having to look through multiple files and databases to find information. It links offline and online information into one repository to find and retrieve any digital document easily.

IBM Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplatforms V2.2 is a leading COLD (Computer Output to Laser Disk) solution. It delivers industry-leading Enterprise Report Management, with high volume capture of computer output, advanced client solutions for desktop and standard Web browsers, and automated storage management with advanced search and report-mining capabilities. The Content Manager OnDemand application will let an enterprise automatically organize and store any printed output, such as reports, statements, or invoices, as well as e-mails and image documents. It also provides a platform for implementing leading electronic bill presentment and payment solutions.

IBM EIP Client Kit for Content Manager V7.1 offers a user access to all the data stored within a corporation, and supports e-business enablement by providing browser client support and advanced application development components. For example, a broker could access from one browser-based screen a client's holdings and investment history, securities information, and related research reports without having to toggle between systems.

Euro Currency

This program is EuroReady.

For more information on the implications of the euro, visit the IBM euro Web site at:

EuroReady Products: IBM considers an IBM product to be EuroReady if the product, when used in accordance with its associated documentation, is capable of correctly processing monetary data in the euro denomination and of respecting the euro currency formatting conventions (including the euro sign). This assumes that all other products (for example, hardware, software, and firmware) that are used with this product are also EuroReady. IBM hardware products that are EuroReady may or may not have an engraved euro sign key on their keyboards.

Currently, EuroReady status applies primarily to IBM products specific to the EMU countries. Products that are not specific to these countries are deemed to be "not ready" for euro unless otherwise stated in the product's country-specific specifications.

IBM Hardware Ready: IBM supplies certain IBM products that include third-party software (preloaded or not) and/or third-party attached hardware. In these instances IBM is not in a position to assert that these third-party products are, in themselves, EuroReady.

Therefore, such IBM products will be designated as Hardware Ready.

EuroReady Solutions: IBM considers a solution to be EuroReady when the solution providers have:

  • Analyzed the euro requirements, including the need to comply with relevant EC rules
  • Built in appropriate function

and can clearly demonstrate this by:

  • Detailing euro-related requirements
  • Describing how these will be implemented in the solution
  • Declaring when the implementation will be generally available

The euro capabilities of a EuroReady solution will be clearly identified as features of the solution specification as described in the contracts document.
