  • Offers flexible security options to control access to data, network, and system resources.

  • Interfaces to operating system and vendor-supplied access control and security software.

  • Supports a comprehensive encryption solution (Secure Plus) that provides strong mutual authentication using X.509 certificates, SSL/TLS data encryption, and data integrity checking.

  • Includes File Agent, which watches one or more directories for the arrival of files and automatically submits a predefined process when a file is detected.

    • Customizes rules that trigger actions on files placed in the watched directory with easy-to-use configuration management and editing.

    • Receives alert notifications and reporting of File Agent activity with the IBM Sterling Control Center.

  • Helps assure data delivery and reduce costly retransmission through checkpoint-restart and automatic session retry.

  • Supports alert notification of exception events.

  • Provides a complete audit trail of data movement through extensive statistics logs. Statistics are consolidated across multiple servers in a sysplex, and standard reports are available.

  • Supports direct transfers to and from Job Entry System (JES) spool queues.

  • Enables high-speed data movement between z/OS systems over fiber connected (FICON) channels.

  • Provides data exchange services for z/OS UNIX System Services (USS) applications with direct access to the Hierarchical File System (HFS).
