Description
Bottom rule

Five updated core foundational CICS tools products align with CICS TS V5.1 to deliver operational efficiency and service agility with cloud enablement. These new versions of core foundational CICS tools exploit and augment the latest operational efficiency and service agility enhancements and can assist the creation and management of the new application, platform, and policy resources introduced in CICS TS V5.1. This helps you build, deploy, and manage your business applications. You can now define a logical platform that comprises multiple CICS regions with different capabilities and instantiate and manage the platform as a single entity. It allows the use of policies to further simplify management and provide a degree of autonomic operation. You can also logically define the various resources (transactions, programs, files, and more) that make up a business application in CICS as a single entity and deploy these resources to a CICS platform, as a single application resource.

Applications and platforms that are defined in this way can be managed as single entities throughout their lifecycle. This accelerates the deployment of new business applications and can make CICS management faster, easier, and less error prone.

All of the new product releases provide new and updated capabilities, many developed in response to customer requirements, which deliver value to customers who choose to remain on currently supported versions of CICS TS.

CICS IA for z/OS , V5.1

CICS IA V5.1 collects and displays dependency and command flow data based on application name. This enables you to manage your new CICS TS V5.1 applications more easily. Initial product deployment is simplified and data management is improved.

CICS TS V5.1 application support

The CICS IA exits for dependency and command flow data are updated to capture the new application data associated with a CICS task. The application view in the updated version of the CICS IA plug-in lists all applications for which CICS IA has collected data. This list also includes all the operations associated with an application.

A new IBM DB2® stored procedure allows you to view resources associated by Application or by Operation. New context menu options provide function to show all the applications that use a given CICS resource.

In CICS TS V5.1 you can set the application operation field associated with a program. This allows you to perform application tracking before proceeding with implementing applications as part of platform as a service. CICS IA will capture this data and assist you in understanding what resources are used by the application.

Improved installation and configuration

In CICS IA V5.1 the configuration execution is split into two tasks:

Cheat sheets are added to the CICS IA plug-in for CICS Explorer so you can select and submit the configured output sample JCL jobs for both the DB2 and CICS configurations. The cheat sheets also guide you through the jobs that must run to complete the tasks when you use the IBM z/OS perspective in CICS Explorer .

Threadsafe analysis

A new DB2 stored procedure is now used by the CICS IA plug-in to report on the threadsafe readiness of a particular program or all programs in a particular region. The stored procedure allows you to produce a summary report for all programs in a region and a detailed report for a program. Summary reports include the count of threadsafe commands and non-threadsafe commands as well as other vital information required for threadsafe analysis. Detailed reports provide a list of the actual commands issued by the program and whether these commands are threadsafe or not. The DB2 stored procedure can be called at your current level of CICS TS as well as the latest level of CICS TS (V5.1). Running the report at the latest level shows you the impact of upgrading to Version 5.1.

DB2 data lifecycle management

A new DB2 stored procedure is now used by the CICS IA plug-in to delete CICS IA dependency data by collection id or by CICS TS application name. Collection ID is a term introduced in CICS IA V3.2, to allow you to identify the collected data before loading into DB2 . It is then used by the CICS IA plug-in to scope the data you are viewing. There is also a new section on data lifecycle management in the CICS IA V3.2 User's Guide and Reference (SC34-2811).

Native SQL language stored procedures

In CICS IA V5.1, you can choose to use native SQL language stored procedures or external SQL language stored procedures. Native SQL stored procedures are available in DB2 V9.1 or later, offer a richer SQL language, are managed by DB2 directly, and may be eligible for zIIP offload.

Updated exits

CICS IA V5.1 provides CICS exits that enable you to collect dependency, affinity, and command flow data in a CICS TS V5.1 region. The CICS global work area used by the CICS IA exits in a CICS TS V5.1 environment is now enabled in 31-bit storage (above the 16MB line), thus freeing more 24-bit storage for the user's legacy applications.

CICS Deployment Assistant for z/OS , V5.1

CICS Deployment Assistant for z/OS , V5.1 ( CICS DA) includes a new, zAAP-offloadable, server component with enhanced discovery, which creates a centralized and more complete model of your CICS infrastructure. An enhanced plug-in for CICS Explorer provides advanced visualization with tagging and filtering. It lets you view, print, and manage your CICS infrastructure as you want to see it. The model can now be exported to standard spreadsheet tools for external analysis and reporting. The centrally-managed model, with audit logging, facilitates sharing, especially with large and distributed teams, and addresses key governance requirements.

Visualization of model

The model discovered by the CICS DA server can be loaded and viewed from within the CICS DA perspective in the CICS Explorer . In CICS DA V1.1, the only view on to this data was with an Eclipse-style project explorer tree. The enhanced plug-in in CICS DA V5.1 can graphically visualize the physical topology of the discovered data. It displays all of the entities and connections that were discovered within each logical partition (LPAR) within the sysplex. You can now view the discovered data using the graphical visualization in multiple ways:

As zoom level increases, more information is displayed for each entity.

Tagging of model elements

Each of the entities (from the explorer tree or the visualization) can be opened to display more information within an editor. One of the editable fields is its tags which is a comma separated list of strings, like web tagging. The graphical visualization offers a tagged view onto the data where common tags will be horizontally aligned so it is possible to identify what entities are tagged in the same way across all the discovered LPARs. Multiple tags can be associated with each entity, for example Application-Owning Region (AOR), Terminal-Owning Region (TOR), or File-Owning Region (FOR), and Retail, Accounts, or Payroll, enabling users to visualize and manage their CICS environment in their preferred manner.

Filtering of model elements

The graphical visualization offers you the ability to filter out what you can see; a filter dialog offers this by providing check boxes for all the different types of entities discovered as well as the tags it has uncovered. These tags can also be arranged vertically so you can place the most important at the top.

Enriched discovery

The amount of data discovered in CICS DA V5.1 is richer - more entities and more connections between those entities will be recorded.

Entities discovered in the MVS™ Images in a Sysplex now include the following entities: CICSPlex , CICSPlex SM Server, Managed CICS Region, Unmanaged CICS Region, CICS System Group, CMAS Network, CMAS, CICS Coupling Facility Data Table Server, CICS Named Counter Server, CICS Temporary Storage Server, IBM CICS Transaction Gateway, DB2 , IBM IMS™ , WebSphere® MQ, and monitoring (MON), real time analysis (RTA), and workload management (WLM) specifications.

In addition, the following connections are also discovered: CMAS to CMAS, IP interconnectivity (IPIC), intersystem communication (ISC), and multi region operation (MRO) connections between managed regions, and managed region connections to DB2 , WebSphere MQ, and IMS .

New navigators

The current CICS DA perspective provides a tree view of all the entities discovered, grouped by the type of entity discovered. CICS DA V5.1 also lets you view the discovered data in physical (root node is the sysplex), logical (root nodes will be the discovered CMAS networks), and tagged (root nodes will be the tags assigned to the entities) modes.

Print view

You can print the graphical visualization and the graphical connections view using Eclipse's print capabilities.

CICS upgrade cheat sheets

Cheat sheets are available to advise on upgrading to CICS TS V4.2 and V5.1. Cheat sheets in Eclipse are a way to guide a user along a path using documentation as the guide.

CICS Explorer integration

From the editors of discovered entities, hyperlinks are available to enable the user to perform management of individual CICS regions by linking to the relevant view in the CICS SM perspective. When used in this way, the plug-in auto-generates the connection to the target region.

JCL improvements

Clone and Plexify functions are enhanced in response to customer requirements. The enhancements enable regions whose JCL contains PROC and INCLUDE statements to be cloned, and CICSPlex SM and CICS TS startup parameters (EYU and SIT parameters) to be modified.

Architectural improvements

CICS DA V5.1 benefits from significant architectural improvements, compared with the previous release. It now includes an independent server written in zAAP-offloadable Java™ , and packaged and deployed on z/OS using OSGi technology, to be extensible for the future. This removes the dependency on CICS TS and simplifies the initial installation process.

All the discovery work, previously managed from within the plug-in for CICS Explorer , is now invoked from within the server. The discovered data is stored in the zFS. This enables all the connected clients to share a common representation of the system topology. The combination of the centralized model and the logging of all model changes and host operations by the server provides a level of governance not previously available.

IPv6 support

CICS DA V5.1 can use networks including exploiting IPv6 seamlessly.

Virtual IP addressing support

During CICS DA discovery, the TCPIP stack(s) on the mainframe are queried to determine what ports are listening for CMCI or CICSPlex SM data requests. With virtual IP addressing enabled on these TCPIP stack(s), an individual listening port can have its own assigned IP address, not using the stack's IP address. CICS DA ensures that the DNS host name resolution occurs for the assigned IP address.

64-bit enablement

All server code is 64-bit enabled to ensure compilers can exploit the new instructions and access all virtual storage available on the mainframe.

CICS TS V4.2 and CICS TS V5.1 support

CICS DA V5.1 can discover all supported versions of CICS Transaction Server. This includes new versions in this release, Versions 4.2 and 5.1.

Serviceability enhancements: Logging and trace are improved to

support debugging and service by ensuring that sufficient logging, trace, and First Failure Data Capture information is available. This reduces the time required to diagnose and resolve issues.

CICS CM for z/OS , V5.1

CICS CM for z/OS , V5.1 manages the new application and platform resource definitions in CICS TS V5.1. This simplifies the management and improves the governance of the CICS platform.

Support for application resource

All capabilities, including create, view, delete, and history are available in CICS CM's batch, 3270, and plug-in views are extended to support the new APPLDEF and PLATDEF resource definitions introduced in CICS TS V5.1.

CICS TS V5.1 support

The CICS CM server initializes successfully in a CICS TS V5.1 region and CICS CM 3270 and plug-in views support all new and changed definitions in the CICS System Definition (CSD) and CICSPlex SM Business Application Services (BAS) repositories for CICS TS V5.1 and previous releases.

Other enhancements

New in the CICS CM plug-in V2.1.1

The following important enhancements were delivered in the CICS CM plug-in V2.1.1 and are integrated into the plug-in for CICS CM V5.1:

Both of these capabilities provide greater ease of use and further reduce the need to switch from CICS Explorer to use green-screen interfaces.

CICS PA for z/OS, V5.1

CICS PA for z/OS, V5.1 includes new application, platform, and policy performance metrics in batch reports and plug-in views, to simplify application-centric and platform-centric performance analysis and reporting. Also new in this release are many functional and navigation improvements to its plug-in for CICS Explorer, as well as simplified host data management.

Support for application resource

Allows you the capability to customize report forms to include new performance metrics related to application and platform. You can then use these forms to run reports that include the new metrics.

Data management improvements

You can now manage the CICS PA Historical Data Base (HDB) data you loaded to DB2 more easily. For example, options are provided on the HDB panels to enable data exported to DB2 to be deleted when that data is deleted from the HDB. Also, the process of loading System Management facility (SMF) data to DB2 has been simplified, removing the need to load the data to HDB and then export to DB2 .

Many CICS PA customers need to process large volumes of SMF data. CICS PA performance for processing these large number of SMF records is improved. CICS PA V5.1 also supports processing of this data on logstreams, which are being used by a growing number of customers for their SMF data.

CICS TS V5.1 support

CICS PA V5.1 processes SMF performance and statistics data and provides reporting for all new metrics in CICS TS V5.1, including the new monitoring metrics for application and platform, and the new statistics metrics for platform. The CICS PA plug-in for CICS Explorer also supports these new metrics and their associated templates.

Batch statistics reporting

This enables CICS PA and CICS TG users to run batch performance reports for CTG statistics in addition to the current online viewing of this data via the ISPF and CICS PA plug-in interfaces.

Statistics filtering

CICS PA now allows filtering by APPLID or IMAGE on the statistics reporting option. This enables SMF datasets to be displayed for the APPLID or image specified on the filter field.

CPU totals on WebSphere MQ reports

A number of CICS PA customers have requested that the CICS WebSphere MQ reports include CPU totals. This is now provided in CICS PA V5.1.

New in the CICS PA plug-in

The following important enhancements were delivered in the CICS PA plug-in V3.2.1 and are integrated into the plug-in for CICS PA V5.1:

Other CICS PA plug-in enhancements

CICS VSAM Recovery for z/OS , V5.1

CICS VSAM Recovery for z/OS , V5.1 ( CICS VR) delivers key enabling technology that is designed to enable CICS and batch VSAM files to be used in geographically dispersed high availability configurations. In addition, a number of batch logging, migration, and other improvements are included.

Replication logging

CICS VR V5.1 provides replication logging capability in support of the IBM GDPS/Active-Active (GDPS/AA) availability solution which IBM intends to enhance in future to support replication of VSAM data for active-standby and active-query configurations. For details, refer to the Statement of direction section.

At present GDPS/AA provides software replication of DB2 and IMS data between geographically dispersed sysplexes. CICS VR replication logging is intended to be used by GDPS/AA to provide replication of VSAM data updated by batch jobs under the control of CICS VR. It complements replication logging capability in CICS TS V5.1, which provides the same support for VSAM files under control of CICS TS.

In CICS VR V5.1, support for replication logging provides UNDO, REDO, Tie-up records, and File Close records on the same MVS logstream. Replication logging is activated by means of a new LOGREPLICATE attribute on the VSAM cluster definition. Replication logging can be activated in addition to any CICS VR UNDO or REDO logging already in place for backout or forward recovery support. If both replication logging and REDO logging for forward recovery are activated, then they share the same logstream.

Batch logging enhancements

The CICS VR batch logging diagnostics are improved. They include an enhanced DWW269I message in the job log that provides the details of the type of logging and the number of records, in decimal, written. On the system log, new DWW400I and DWW401I messages provide details of the job names and job IDs by using batch logging and which logstreams are being used. Clashes can be more easily identified, for example, the attempted use of the same logstream by two concurrent jobs.

Batch backout improvements

The support provided by CICS VR when running batch backout to back out a batch job or jobstep is enhanced. The enhancements include:

Migration utility enhancements

A number of minor enhancements are made to the migration process:

NOTIFY enhancements

CICS VR provides a sample REXX clist to demonstrate the notification of multiple VSAM sphere backups.

Message and report enhancements

CICS VR produces diagnostic messages when the system data sets DWWDMSG and DWWDUMP wrap. The wording is improved for easier comprehension of log stream copy and log of logs scan reports.

Logstream printing enhancements

DWWJUP is enhanced to identify replication records written by CICS VR V5.1 and CICS TS V5.1.

IBM CICS VSAM Transparency for z/OS plug-in Supportpac

CICS VT V2.1 introduces a new plug-in for CICS Explorer to display VSAM files that are defined to CICS VT and whether their status is active or inactive. This capability, delivered as CICS SupportPac CS1V, will help clients to manage and understand the progress of their data modernization projects.

The CICS Explorer V5.1 is updated to include support for the new and enhanced capabilities of CICS TS V5.1. CICS Explorer V5.1 is restructured to separate the CICS -specific perspectives and capabilities from the connectivity infrastructure and z/OS platform views. It creates a new, reusable component known as IBM Explorer for z/OS , V1.1 ( z/OS Explorer). CICS Explorer is also now pre-loaded with the URL of the update site for all CICS tools and PD tools plug-ins, greatly simplifying the initial installation process. For more information about CICS Explorer V5.1, refer to Software Announcement 212-325, dated October 3, 2012.

IBM PD Tools Studio V12 delivers an Eclipse-based Rich Client Platform, pre-loaded with the plug-ins for all five IBM Problem Determination Tools, along with the z/OS Explorer, which provides users with a consistent experience, regardless of the platform. CICS users of the Problem Determination Tools can quickly extend PD Tools Studio with the CICS Explorer SDK and CICS Tools plug-ins, to produce a powerful, multi-functional CICS workbench for all technical roles.

Value Unit-based pricing

Value Unit pricing for eligible IBM System z IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA) programs enables a lower cost of incremental growth and enterprise aggregation. Each System z IPLA product with Value Unit pricing has a single price per Value Unit and a conversion matrix, called Value Unit Exhibit, for converting from some designated measurement to Value Units. Most commonly, Millions of Service Units (MSUs) is the measurement designated by IBM to be converted to Value Units. Some other measurements are engines or messages. Since MSUs are the most common measurement, that measurement will be used for the remainder of this description.

Value Unit pricing offers price benefits for you. For each System z IPLA program with Value Unit pricing, the quantity of that program needed to satisfy applicable IBM terms and conditions is referred to as the required license capacity. Each of the various Value Unit Exhibits stipulate that the larger your required license capacity, the fewer Value Units per MSU you will need. Value Unit Exhibits are uniquely identified by a three-digit code and referred to using the nomenclature VUExxx, where xxx is the three-digit code.

Subsequent acquisitions of Value Unit priced programs offer additional price benefits. The quantity of each System z IPLA program that you have acquired is referred to as entitled license capacity. If you wish to grow your entitled license capacity for a System z IPLA program, the calculation to determine additional needed Value Units is based upon the number of Value Units already acquired.

For each System z IPLA program with Value Unit pricing, you should:

To simplify conversion from the designated measurement to Value Units or vice versa, use the Value Unit Converter Tool. For additional information or to obtain a copy of the Value Unit Converter Tool, visit the Value Unit Converter Tool website

http://ibm.com/zseries/swprice/vuctool

Note that Value Units of a given product cannot be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with Value Units of another product.

To determine the required license capacity for the System z IPLA program you selected, refer to the Terms and conditions section.

For each System z IPLA program with Value Unit pricing, the quantity of that program needed to satisfy applicable IBM terms and conditions is referred to as the required license capacity. Your required license capacity is based upon the following factors:

Value Unit exhibit VUE007

            MSUs MSUs
            minimum maximum Value Units/MSU

Base 1 3 1
Tier A 4 45 0.45
Tier B 46 175 0.36
Tier C 176 315 0.27
Tier D 316 + 0.2

Value Units for mainframes without MSU ratings:

Hardware Value Units/machine

MP3000 H30 6
MP3000 H50 8
MP3000 H70 12
ESL models 2

Ordering example

The total number of Value Units is calculated according to the following example.

If your required license capacity is 1,500 MSUs for your selected System z IPLA product, the applicable Value Units would be:

Translation from MSUs to Value Units

          MSUs * Value Units/MSU = Value Units
Base 3 * 1.00 = 3.00
Tier A 42 * .45 = 18.90
Tier B 130 * .36 = 46.80
Tier C 140 * .27 = 37.80
Tier D 1,185 * .20 = 237.00

Total 1,500 343.50

When calculating the total number of Value Units, the sum is to be rounded up to the next integer.

Subscription and Support

To receive voice technical support via telephone and future releases and versions at no additional charge, Subscription and Support must be ordered. The capacity of Subscription and Support (Value Units) must be the same as the capacity ordered for the product licenses.

To order, specify the Subscription and Support program number (PID) referenced above and the appropriate license or charge option.

IBM is also providing Subscription and Support for these products via a separately purchased offering under the terms of the IBM International Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance (IAASM). This offering:

When Subscription and Support is ordered, the charges will automatically renew annually unless cancelled by you.

The combined effect of the IPLA license and the Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance gives you rights and support services comparable to those under the traditional ICA S/390 and System z license or its equivalent. To ensure that you continue to enjoy the level of support you are used to in the ICA business model, you must order both the license for the program and the support for the selected programs at the same Value Unit quantities.

Customized Offerings

Product deliverables are shipped only via CBPDO and ServerPac. These customized offerings are offered for Internet delivery in countries where Shopz product ordering is available. Internet delivery reduces software delivery time and allows you to install software without the need to handle tapes. For more details on Internet delivery, refer to the Shopz help information at

http://www.software.ibm.com/ShopzSeries

You choose the delivery method when you order the software. IBM recommends Internet delivery. In addition to Internet and DVD, the supported tape delivery options include:

Most products can be ordered in ServerPac, the month following their availability in CBPDO. z/OS can be ordered via CBPDO and ServerPac at general availability. Many products will also be orderable in a Product ServerPac without also having to order the z/OS operating system or subsystem.

Shopz and CFSW will determine the eligibility based on product requisite checking. For more details on the Product ServerPac, visit the Help section on the Shopz website at

http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/ShopzSeries/ShopzSeries.jsp

For additional information on the Product ServerPac option, refer to Software Announcement 212-272, dated July 31, 2012.

Production of software product orders will begin on the planned general availability date.

The terms and conditions that govern any transaction with IBM are contained in the applicable contract documents such as the IBM International Program License Agreement, IBM International Passport Advantage® Agreement, and the IBM Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance.

Licensing

IBM International Program License Agreement including the License Information document and Proof of Entitlement (PoE) govern your use of the program. PoEs are required for all authorized use.

Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance

The IBM Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance (Z125-6011) applies for Software Subscription and Support (Software Maintenance) and does not require customer signatures.

These programs are licensed under the IBM Program License Agreement (IPLA) and the associated Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance, which provide for support with ongoing access to releases and versions of the program. These programs have a one-time license charge for use of the program and an annual renewable charge for the enhanced support that includes telephone assistance (voice support for defects during normal business hours), as well as access to updates, releases, and versions of the program as long as support is in effect.

IBM System z Operational Support Services - SoftwareXcel is an option if you desire added services.

Limited warranty

IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible for the results obtained from the use of the program.

IBM provides you with access to IBM databases containing information on known program defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no additional charge. For further information, consult the IBM Software Support Handbook found at

http://www.ibm.com/support/handbook

IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee acquires the program (warranty period).

Program support

Enhanced support, called Subscription and Support, includes telephone assistance, as well as access to updates, releases, and versions of the program as long as support is in effect. You will be notified of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice.

Money-back guarantee

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.

For clarification, note that for programs acquired under any of IBM 's On/Off Capacity on Demand (On/Off CoD) software offerings, this term does not apply since these offerings apply to programs already acquired and in use by you.

Full-capacity mainframes

In cases where full capacity is applicable, the following terms apply.

Execution-based, z/OS-based, full-machine-based: The required capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the MSU-rated capacity of the machines where the System z IPLA program executes.

For more information on mainframe MSU-rated capacities, visit

http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/zseries/library/swpriceinfo/

Reference-based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the license capacity of the applicable monthly license charge (MLC) program. This MLC program is called the parent program.

Sub-capacity mainframes

In cases where sub-capacity is applicable, the following terms apply.

Execution-based: The required capacity of a System z IPLA sub-capacity program with these terms equals the capacity of the LPARs where the System z IPLA program executes.

z/OS-based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the license capacity of z/OS on the machines where the System z IPLA program executes.

Reference-based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the license capacity of the applicable monthly license charge (MLC) program. This MLC program is called the parent program.

Full-machine-based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with full machine based terms equals the MSU-rated capacity of the machines where the System z IPLA program executes.

For more information on mainframe MSU-rated capacities, refer to The IBM System z Machines Exhibit, (Z125-3901), or visit the Mainframes section of the System z Exhibits website

http://ibm.com/zseries/library/swpriceinfo/

For additional information for products with reference-based terms, System z IPLA sub-capacity programs with reference-based terms adds value to the parent program across the environment, regardless of where in the environment the System z IPLA program executes.

An environment is defined as either a single or stand-alone machine or a qualified Parallel Sysplex® . You may have one or more different environments across the enterprise. To determine the required license capacity for each System z IPLA program with referenced-based terms, each environment should be assessed separately.

When a System z IPLA sub-capacity program with reference-based terms is used in a qualified Parallel Sysplex environment, the required license capacity of the System z IPLA program must equal with the license capacity of the parent program across the Parallel Sysplex . Qualified Parallel Sysplex refers to one where MLC pricing is aggregated across the sysplex.

Sub-capacity eligibility

To be eligible for sub-capacity charging on select System z IPLA programs, you must first implement and comply with all terms of either sub-capacity Workload License Charges (WLC) or sub-capacity Entry Workload License Charges (EWLC). To implement sub-capacity WLC or EWLC, a machine must be System z (or equivalent). On that machine:

For that machine, you must create and submit a Sub-Capacity Report to IBM each month. Sub-Capacity Reports must be generated using the Sub-Capacity Reporting Tool (SCRT). For additional information or to obtain a copy of SCRT, visit the System z Software Pricing website

http://ibm.com/zseries/swprice

You must comply with all of the terms of the WLC or EWLC offering, whichever is applicable:

Additionally, you must sign and comply with the terms and conditions specified in the amendment to the IPLA contract - Amendment for IBM System z9® and System z Programs Sub-Capacity Pricing (Z125-6929). Once the amendment is signed, the terms in the amendment replace any and all previous System z IPLA sub-capacity terms and conditions.

Sub-capacity utilization determination

Sub-capacity utilization is determined based on the utilization of a sub-capacity eligible reference product and machine.

On/Off Capacity on Demand (CoD)

To be eligible for On/Off CoD pricing, you must be enabled for temporary capacity on the corresponding hardware, and the required contract, Attachment for IBM System z On/Off Capacity on Demand (Z125-7883) must be signed prior to use.

Top rule
Statement of good security practices
Bottom rule

IT system security involves protecting systems and information through prevention, detection, and response to improper access from within and outside your enterprise. Improper access can result in information being altered destroyed or misappropriated or can result in misuse of your systems to attack others. Without a comprehensive approach to security, no IT system or product should be considered completely secure and no single product or security measure can be completely effective in preventing improper access. IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective. IBM does not warrant that systems and products are immune from the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
