Overview

Effective August 15, 2008, IBM will withdraw from marketing, programs and features licensed under the IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA):

• Virtualization Engine™ TS7500 Enterprise Edition V2.1 (5697-N65)
• Virtualization Engine TS7500 Limited Edition V2.1 (5667-N66)

On or after the effective date of withdrawal, you can no longer order these products directly from IBM or an IBM Distributor.

Replacement product information

TS7500 Limited Edition V2.1

TS7500 Limited Edition V2.1 (5697-N66) has no direct replacement.

TS7500 Enterprise Edition V2.1

TS7500 Enterprise Edition V2.1 (5697-N65) is superceded by IBM Virtualization Engine TS7500 Enterprise Edition V3.1.

TS7500 Enterprise Edition V3.1 attaches to the same hosts that support Enterprise Edition V2.1.

The TS7510 Virtualization Engine (3954-CV5) cannot run Enterprise Edition V3.

Customers with current TS7500 Enterprise Edition V2.1 Software Maintenance (Subscription and Support) are entitled to equivalent per server or per TB levels of the same functions in the TS7500 Enterprise Edition V3.1 replacement product.

Software Maintenance features remain available. Order Software Maintenance (Subscription and Support) renewals as required, using originally-announced Software Maintenance features for each product.

For assistance in determining product equivalencies, contact your IBM representative or Business Partner.

For per 250 TB 251+ tier 6 features for TS7500 Enterprise Edition Console and Capacity Support, refer to Software Announcement 207-115 , dated May 22, 2007.
