Reference information

Refer to Software Announcement 203-252 , dated September 23, 2003.

Refer to the Software License Agreements (SLA) Web site for information on Program Services end dates:

IBM is updating and improving its method for delivering RosettaNet PIP capability. In the past, this capability was accomplished by purchasing individual RosettaNet PIP Collaborations to run on a WebSphere Business Integration Server platform along with a WebSphere Business Connection or Trading Partner Interchange B2B gateway. Now, RosettaNet PIP's capability is accomplished with the newly announced WebSphere Business Integration Connect platform which comes included with a wide range of RosettaNet PIPs included at no extra cost. IBM is providing customers with greater value and simplicity by combining PIP's capability with the robust, full-featured B2B gateway itself rather than assembling individual software components.

In order to avoid duplication of platforms and redundancy of software, IBM is withdrawing the original, separately available RosettaNet PIP Collaborations from marketing. There is no immediate need for existing RosettaNet PIP Collaborations' customers to take any immediate action as a result of this decision as IBM will continue to offer support. IBM suggests that existing customers strongly consider migrating to the new WebSphere Business Integration Connect platform. Among other advantages, this migration will enable utilization of RNIF 2.0 capabilities as well as allow customers to take advantage of the robust capabilities of the new platform.
