Overview

In response to your needs, ordering procedures for distributions software are simplified:

  • Software licenses
  • Subscriptions
  • Technical support acquisition

Along with the announcement of IBM's focus on a common model for distributed software, IBM will remove selected AIX® and OS/400® programs from Software Subscription, effective:

  • October 10, 2001, for IBM e(logo)server pSeries programs
  • February 12, 2002, for IBM e(logo)server iSeries programs

Description

IBM's new distributed software model encompasses a series of announcements that include:

  • Software Announcement 201-200 , dated July 10, 2001 (IBM Simplifies Acquisition Model for Distributed Software)
  • Software Announcement 201-201 , dated July 10, 2001 (Changes to Distributed Software Products Acquired Outside of Passport Advantage)
  • Software Announcement 201-202 , dated July 10, 2001 (IBM Simplifies and Enhances the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement)
  • Software Announcement 201-203 , dated July 10, 2001 (Tivoli® Systems Participates in the IBM Passport Advantage Offering)
  • Software Announcement 601-023 , dated July 10, 2001 (Revised Support Line Terms and Conditions Complement the New Acquisition Model for Distributed Software)
  • Software Withdrawal 901-173 , dated July 10, 2001 (Passport Advantage II Part Numbers Withdrawn from Marketing)
