 ENUS299-350.PDF (23KB)

Overview

MQSeries® Integrator, V2: To meet IBM's high product quality targets, the availability of MQSeries Integrator V2.0 has been delayed.

This delay is an opportunity to address further immediate customer requirements:

  • Provide further platform coverage (particularly support for Sun Solaris)
  • Increase focus on enhancements to tooling that improve performance and usability in a shared environment
  • Improve usability, and function, and address V1 migration
  • Improve messaging performance

The planned availability date for MQSeries Integrator V2.0 is delayed from December 10, 1999, to a planned date of March 31, 2000, on the Windows NT™ platform. At that time the AIX® platform will be available only in a beta release. An additional beta release will be available for the Sun Solaris platform. A further announcement will be made during the first half of 2000 about planned availability on AIX and Sun Solaris platforms.

Refer to Software Announcement 299-149 , dated June 15, 1999, for details of MQSeries Integrator V2.0.

MQSeries Integrator for OS/390® and DB2®, V1.1: For clarification, inaccuracies in the original product announcement are corrected. Refer to the updated Description and Specified Operating Environment sections within this announcement for amended text. Refer to Software Announcement 299-151 , dated June 15, 1999, for the original announcement.

MQSeries for AS/400®, V5.1: The planned availability date of November 26, 1999, for MQSeries for AS/400, V5.1 is delayed, and now planned for March 31, 2000.

An MQSeries client for AS/400 and the Publish/Subscribe broker will no longer be included or available (but the product can still participate in Publish/Subscribe). An interactive interface to MQSC commands via the Qshell will no longer be included in this release.

Amended Description for MQSeries Integrator for OS/390 and DB2, V1.1

MQSeries Integrator is powerful message-brokering software that seamlessly integrates applications and networks.

With MQSeries Integrator, the information flow of your enterprise is directed in an intelligent and business-responsive way.

Predefined templates mean MQSeries Integrator can exchange information with major packaged applications. People and applications receive the information they need when they need it.

Using MQSeries to carry messages across different computing platforms, MQSeries Integrator:

  • Routes information according to enterprise-defined rules
  • Transforms and reformats information to suit the receiving application

MQSeries Integrator is responsive to routine and out-of-line situations. It is flexible enough to accept changes even while it runs, helping you maintain continuous operation.

The following functional characteristics apply only to the follow-on Version 2 levels of the MQSeries Integrator family:

  • Accepts any code page for messages flowing through the system
  • Merges information from databases
  • Accepts self-defining message formats, formats from an IBM provided format repository, or third-party message dictionaries
  • Forwards messages for dynamic publish/subscribe, and for use in new message flows or data warehousing
Refer also to the Specified Operating Environment section for amended requirements on OS/390 and DB2 release levels.
