A Word on MQSeries Integrator

MQSeries Integrator enables MQSeries to implement powerful, real-time application-to-application message transformation and intelligent message routing quickly and easily.

Version 1.1 improves the GUI and usability for working with rules and formats.

MQSeries Family

IBM's open, scalable, industrial-strength messaging and information infrastructure enables enterprises and their partners to integrate business processes to form an efficient enterprise- or community-wide system. Different hardware and software platforms can behave as if they were designed to work together. You are no longer constrained by platform incompatibility. Your business operation can be captured and turned into intelligent rules that:

  • Merge information from databases and other sources
  • Route the information to its target

Your business process flows can be defined, visualized, modified, and automated to yield significant quality and productivity improvements. MQSeries is a key technology for IBM e-business and for transporting workflow data, and it is the key technology for IBM business integration.

For a family overview, refer to Software Announcement 299-147 , dated June 15, 1999.

Key Prerequisites

  • OS/390 V2.5 (5647-A01), together with the products included in OS/390
  • DB2 Version 5.1 (5655-DB2)

Planned Availability Date

March 31, 2000

Note: IBM will strive to improve on this delivery date.

MQSeries Integrator is powerful message-brokering software that seamlessly integrates applications, networks, and databases (accessed through their applications).

With MQSeries Integrator the information flow of your enterprise is directed in an intelligent and business-responsive way. It accepts:

  • Self-defining message formats
  • Formats from an integrated format repository
  • Third-party message dictionaries (conforming to an architected API)

Predefined templates mean MQSeries Integrator can exchange information with major packaged applications. It accesses data from databases, combines it, and redirects it to its targets.

Using MQSeries to carry messages across different computing platforms, MQSeries Integrator:

  • Routes information according to enterprise-defined rules
  • Transforms and reformats information to suit the receiving application
  • Filters message content and extracts data from databases to generate messages using user-written exits
  • Forwards messages for dynamic publish/subscribe

MQSeries Integrator is responsive to routine and out-of-line situations. It is flexible enough to accept changes even while it runs, helping you maintain continuous operation.

The contents of messages can cause new message flows, and data warehouses can be populated for subsequent analysis and eventual marketing usage with user-written exits.

Year 2000

This product is Year 2000 ready. When used in accordance with its associated documentation, it is capable of correctly processing, providing, and/or receiving date data within and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, provided that all products (for example, hardware, software, and firmware) used with the product properly exchange accurate date data with it.
