IBM Datacap Taskmaster Accounts Payable Capture is a preconfigured Datacap Taskmaster application that enables user data entry of invoices and other unstructured back office documents. IBM Datacap Taskmaster Medical Claims Capture is a preconfigured Datacap Taskmaster application that enables users to capture professional (CMS 1500) and institutional (UB-04) claim forms. Both preconfigured applications help eliminated labor-intensive manual data entry by automating capture processing. These add-ons are available for IBM Datacap Taskmaster Capture and IBM Production Imaging Edition.

Description

IBM Datacap Taskmaster Capture V8.0.1 offers several comprehensive packages to address client capture requirements. The base capture package provides the client, server, and image processing and recognition software necessary for recognition of typed data using Optical Character Recognition (OCR), handprinted data using Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR), check box type data using Optical Mark Recognition (OMR), or bar code data using bar code recognition.

IBM Datacap Taskmaster Capture with Parascript FieldScript provides an additional recognition engine to read handprint data.

Add-ons to IBM Datacap Taskmaster Capture and IBM Production Imaging Edition provide comprehensive and quick-to-implement prepackaged applications that extend existing capture applications to process accounts payable invoices or medical claim forms.

IBM Datacap Taskmaster Accounts Payable Capture is a preconfigured Taskmaster application specially designed to enable user data entry of invoices and other unstructured back office documents. It features a unique set of strategies for automating accounts payable processes, including identifying vendors, locating data on variable layouts, line item capture, multiple page invoices, and setting up new invoice layouts on the fly, with no programming required. There are validation features, unique to accounts payables, that assure that data is accurate and complete, including math calculations and business rule enforcement. A new feature called Purchase Order Line Item Reconciliation (POLR) enables easy comparison between invoice and P.O. to streamline the three-way match downstream in the approval process.

The term three-way match describes the most common method companies use to recognize a valid financial obligation. Generally, an accounts payable clerk (or software system) attempts to match every incoming invoice to a valid purchase order and an approved packing slip or receiver. Many companies will not consider an invoice to be payable until they have a purchase order with a price that matches the price on the invoice and some sort of document from the requisitioner that indicates that the items or services were received in good order.

Datacap Taskmaster Medical Claims Capture is a preconfigured Datacap Taskmaster application specially designed to automate data entry of CMS 1500 and UB-04 medical claims. There are validation features, unique to claims, that assure that data is accurate and complete, including CPT code and diagnostic code comparisons, provider number lookups, and business rule enforcement. After all claim data is extracted and validated, Datacap Taskmaster Medical Claims Capture passes data to adjudication systems in HIPAA-compliant 837 EDI format and indexed images to Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems for secure storage and retrieval.

A complete end-to-end capture solution

IBM Datacap Taskmaster Capture V8 reduces labor and paper costs while increasing data accuracy and accelerating document processing by enabling users to the capture of documents from scanners, MFP devices, as well as previously scanned images in local or network folders. Direct integration with IBM FileNet® P8 provides a complete platform for centralized, departmental, and distributed capture for the enterprise.

Simplified packaging

IBM Datacap Taskmaster Capture offers several comprehensive packages to address your capture requirements. The base capture package provides all the necessary client, server, and image processing and recognition software necessary for the capture of machine print, hand print, optical marks such as check boxes and bar code data from any document type with delivery to IBM FileNet P8. Another package provides preconfigured support for capture of accounts payable invoices. Streamlining capture for these applications provides you with significant cost savings, reduced errors, and faster processing.

Rules-based architecture

Datacap Taskmaster's unique rules-driven architecture provides control over the entire capture process from scanning and image processing, to validations and formatting for export. Other capture products only provide rules for validations. With Datacap Taskmaster, every capture processing step may be customized to meet business requirements. And with deployment across centralized thick clients and remote thin clients, you are provided implementation flexibility that can help increase efficiency, speed input, and reduce the costs of shipping.

Scalable to support high document volumes

Taskmaster provides a true client/server architecture that delivers multiple approaches to achieve scalability, which can be used in various combinations. Features such as automatic document identification and automatic indexing support for high volume scanning quickly deliver information to imaging and content management systems. The Rulerunner Service provides core capture capabilities decoupled from the Datacap Taskmaster capture platform. As volumes increase, growing becomes easier through the use of additional Rulerunner Services to handle increased workloads. Distributed capture further enables growth by adding remote capture locations.

Notes:

A file server is required to store the images and intermediate processing files. The Datacap Taskmaster server can be the same computer as the file server. The storage space needed on the file server is dependent upon image size and volume.
The Datacap Taskmaster web server components can run on the same computer as Datacap Taskmaster server components in a secure configuration (intranet, VPN, and so on).
Datacap Rulerunner stations provide all unattended processing including document identification, recognition, image processing, validations, and export of data.
Datacap Taskmaster web stations should run Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, or later. (Firefox is supported with limitations.)
Network is assumed to be Ethernet with TCP/IP running Microsoft file servers.

Software requirements

IBM Datacap Taskmaster Capture V8.0.1 is required. It has no additional technical requirements.

IBM Datacap Taskmaster Capture V8 requires either a single Windows-based machine or multiple machines in a client/server environment. Datacap Taskmaster supports Windows™ XP SP3 (32 bit), Windows 2003 SP1 (32 bit), Windows Server 2008 (32 bit and 64 bit), and Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit). Servers need to run Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 Server operating system.

Notes:

All computers running a Datacap Taskmaster application must use the same version of Datacap Taskmaster. Operating Datacap Taskmaster Client or Datacap Taskmaster Web with an incompatible version of Datacap Taskmaster Server, or allowing different versions to access one database, can result in loss of data.
Servers and workstations running Datacap software require Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5, and if not already installed, will be installed automatically during the Datacap software installation process.
Servers running Datacap Taskmaster web components require Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
Datacap Taskmaster web running in 64-bit Windows requires a .NET application pool configured to permit 32-bit applications. Consult the Installation and Configuration Guide for details.
Datacap Taskmaster requires the Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 6.0 Parser, and if it is not already installed, it will be installed automatically during the software installation process.
Datacap Taskmaster requires the Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1, and if it is not already installed, it will be installed automatically during the Datacap software installation process.
Datacap Taskmaster web verification stations should run Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, or later.

Supported databases

Datacap Taskmaster applications are preconfigured to use Microsoft Access for the three primary databases which store administration, batch, and rules information. The use of Oracle and SQL Server is supported and strongly recommended for enterprise or mission-critical applications.

Supported scanners

ISIS drivers are supported with Datacap Taskmaster thick clients. TWAIN drivers are used for Datacap Taskmaster web remote scan clients.

Customer responsibilities

Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) is included with licenses purchased through Passport Advantage and Passport Advantage Express®. Product upgrades and technical support are provided by the Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) offering as described in the Agreements. Product upgrades provide the latest versions and releases to entitled software, and technical support provides voice and electronic access to IBM support organizations, worldwide.

IBM includes one year of Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) with each program license acquired. The initial period of Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) can be extended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available.

Security, auditability, and control

Datacap Taskmaster Capture uses the security and auditability features of the host software.

The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities.

Charge metrics definitions

User Value Unit (UVU)

UVU is the metric by which this program is licensed. UVU entitlements are based on the number of users for the given program. A Proof of Entitlement (PoE) must be obtained for the appropriate number of UVUs required for your environment as defined by the specific program terms. The UVU entitlements are specific to the program and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with UVU entitlements of another software program. UVU licensing offers you price benefits for customers by enabling a lower cost of incremental growth of resources. To understand these benefits of UVU licensing, and to determine how many UVUs to obtain for the program, contact your IBM representative.

Connection

Connection is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. A Connection is a link or association of a database, application, server, or any other type of device to the program. Licensee must obtain entitlements for the total number of Connections which have been or are made to the program.

Install

Install is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. An Install is an installed copy of the program on a physical or virtual disk made available to be executed on a computer. Licensee must obtain an entitlement for each Install of the program.

Processor Value Unit (PVU)

PVU is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. The number of PVU entitlements required is based on the processor technology defined within the PVU Table by processor value, brand, type, and model number at

and the number of processors made available to the program. IBM continues to define a processor, for the purpose of PVU-based licensing, to be each processor core on a chip. A dual-core processor chip, for example, has two processor cores.

Licensee can deploy the program using either full capacity licensing or virtualization capacity (sub-capacity) licensing according to the Passport Advantage Sub-Capacity Licensing Terms (refer to the webpage below). If using full capacity licensing, licensee must obtain PVU entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores* in the physical hardware environment made available to or managed by the program, except for those servers from which the program has been permanently removed. If using virtualization capacity licensing, licensee must obtain entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores made available to or managed by the program, as defined according to the Virtualization Capacity License Counting Rules at

* An activated processor core is a processor core that is available for use in a physical or virtual server, regardless of whether the capacity of the processor core can be or is limited through virtualization technologies, operating system commands, BIOS settings, or similar restrictions.

Notes:

Some programs may require licenses for the program and what is being managed. In that case, the following applies. In addition to the entitlements required for the program directly, licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for this program sufficient to cover the processor cores managed by the program.
Some programs may be licensed on a managed basis only. In that case, the following applies: Instead of the entitlements required for the program directly, Licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for this program sufficient to cover the processor cores managed by the program.
A few programs on an exception basis may be licensed on a referenced basis. In that case, the following applies. Rather than obtaining entitlements for the activated processor cores available to the program, licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for this program sufficient to cover the environment made available to the referenced program as if the program itself were executing everywhere the referenced program was executing, independent of the basis on which the referenced program is licensed.
