IBM System Services Runtime Environment for z/OS® V1.1 provides a native Web services runtime environment for select system-level applications that run on z/OS and are provided at no charge.
The runtime is customized and easy to install and configure for a particular z/OS application. This
can help minimize the cost to run the system-level applications and the skills required to install,
configure, and maintain the underlying infrastructure.

z/OS (5694-A01) V1.9, or higher, operating system with the following z/OS elements, features, and
components enabled and activated:
- z/OS Communications Server (TCP/IP) or equivalent.
- z/OS UNIX® System Services and the zSeries® File System (zFS). Note that the Hierarchical File System (HFS) is a z/OS UNIX file system that can be used instead.
- Security Server (RACF®) or equivalent SAF security management product.
- System logger.
- Resource recovery services.
Note:
IBM System Services Runtime Environment for z/OS V1.1 is a separately orderable product but cannot
be used by itself. It requires an exploiter product. The first exploiter is IBM TotalStorage®
Productivity Center for Replication Basic Edition for System z V3.4 (5698-TRB).

| Description |
IBM System Services Runtime Environment for z/OS V1.1 provides a native Web services runtime environment for select system-level applications that run on z/OS and are provided at no charge. This runtime is customized and easy to install and configure for a particular z/OS select system-level application.
IBM System Services Runtime Environment for z/OS V1.1 is independent of WebSphere® for z/OS and can coexist with WebSphere for z/OS on the same z/OS system. IBM System Services Runtime Environment for z/OS V1.1 is preconfigured to use local operating system security, and is easy to install and deploy. Only a few installation-specific parameters are needed to make it operational.
IBM System Services Runtime Environment for z/OS V1.1 is a separately orderable product but cannot be used by itself. It requires an exploiter product. The first exploiter is IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Replication Basic Edition for System z V3.4 (5698-TRB).
