IBM WebSphere® Transformation Extender (WebSphere TX) is a universal data transformation and validation engine for Smart SOA. It is designed to deliver business agility through IT agility by tackling one of the most significant challenges of integrating enterprise business systems: the data transformation and content validation of large volumes of complex formatted, and large multipart documents with a codeless, graphical approach to development.
New business services can be delivered quicker to market, with business driven enhancements turned around in shorter cycles. WebSphere TX enables you to minimize the impact integration imposes on an application. Developers no longer need to modify an application's interfaces to deal with new message structures and file formats, or write and test new preprocessing and postprocessing programs to validate the syntax and semantics of content received and sent by the application.
Business is also better served where electronic documents exchanged between organizations can be validated before sending or receiving, eliminating costly errors and remedial action to resend. Validation checking is important to many for compliance with both regulatory and industry body requirements for inter-business transactions.
The WebSphere TX family delivers editions for both batch and event driven messaging, extending an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) or Business Process Management (BPM) solution, and for embedding with custom applications written in C, COBOL, or written for Java™ or .Net. On the IBM System z™ platform, blue-chip clients deploy WebSphere TX in z/OS® Batch, CICS®, IMS™ and DB2® environments seeking high performance, and the reliability of transaction control.

Product structure
WebSphere TX offerings are designed to deliver data transformation and validation wherever required in your IT infrastructure.
Base editions provide the core engine, associated infrastructure, and components necessary for production data transformation environments. All implementations require one or more base editions, depending on the enterprise architecture and where WebSphere Transformation Extender will be implemented. Technology adapters for integrating with other technologies in the enterprise, such as WebSphere MQ, are included in the base products. A subset of adapters is supported on z/OS and includes WebSphere MQ, file, and FTP. The adapters not included are those with royalty bearing encryption/security protocols, and those delivered in optional packs.
Development tooling includes packages for developing transformations and interfacing WebSphere TX with a custom programming environment. All WebSphere TX implementations require at least one order of WebSphere Transformation Extender Design Studio to develop, test, and tune transformations and metadata.
Optional WebSphere Transformation Extender components deliver significant value in the development and implementation of WebSphere TX. Industry and enterprise connectivity packs accelerate time to value by populating the Design Studio with prebuilt assets. Secure adapters, SNMP, and Launcher enhancements extend the base edition functionality. Trading Manager is an application for managing EDI transactions with Business Partners.

WebSphere Transformation Extender for Application Programming is used to deploy the transformation engine in custom applications and application servers, and use the APIs provided to execute a transformation map. APIs include C, Java, EJB, .Net, and COBOL. This package is used when you want to call directly from your application into the transformation engine. This product has been renamed in V8.2 to clarify its usage. In V8.1, it was simply called WebSphere Transformation Extender. This edition is used to provide extended transformation capabilities with WebSphere Application Server.
WebSphere Transformation Extender with Command Server allows the transformation engine to be called directly from a command line, shell script, or timer. WebSphere Transformation Extender Command Server is a powerful command-line-driven environment to control the execution of a transformation. Use this package to extend an existing application and infrastructure with minimal intrusion. System z users of MVS™ Batch,, CICS, and IMS environments use this edition. For System z users, this edition includes the components in the Application Programming edition.
WebSphere Transformation Extender with Launcher includes the WebSphere Transformation Extender Launcher and the Command Server. The Launcher activates transformations based on triggers. Triggers can be a file creation, a message arriving on a messaging system (such as WebSphere MQ), a DBMS trigger, a timer, and many other options as well as combinations of triggers. The Launcher offers an online run-time environment that synchronizes and controls complicated data transformations, while maintaining and optimizing the execution environment for the transformations. For System z, this edition runs under the UNIX® System Services environment.
WebSphere Transformation Extender for Message Broker has been merged into the new edition WebSphere Transformation Extender for Integration Servers. It continues to extend the breadth of data transformation capabilities of WebSphere Message Broker, a universal Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) from IBM. Complex Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) structures can be more easily processed without writing a hundred lines of script. The Extender provides access to industry packs to accelerate integration in EDI, financial services, healthcare, and insurance. The Extender can handle variable format structures and batched transaction documents with ease, and without scripting. You can solve critical business problems in real time with support for industry standards, regulatory compliance, and connectivity requirements. The Extender functionality remains at Version 8.1.
New in V8.2: WebSphere Transformation Extender for Integration Servers
WebSphere Transformation Extender for Integration Servers is the latest edition to the Transformation Extender family. It offers the transformation engine packaged ready to install with WebSphere Process Server or WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus. This edition takes advantage of the Service Component Architecture bindings added in the V6.1 release of these products. Specifically, WebSphere TX can be used as a dedicated mediation engine. Enhancements for WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus and WebSphere Process Server V6.1 include:
- WebSphere Transformation Extender data bindings for JMS, WebSphere MQ, HTTP, EIS import, and EIS export
- Maps can convert between external formats and business objects
- Eclipse-based wizard simplifies map design; runs in WebSphere Integration Developer
WebSphere Transformation Extender for Message Broker V8.1 has been merged with WebSphere Transformation Extender for Integration Servers V8.2.
Development tooling
WebSphere Transformation Extender Design Studio is an integrated development environment where transformations and metadata are developed, imported, tested, and performance tuned. WebSphere TX Design Studio is a required, separately orderable product. After the transformations are developed, tested, and tuned in Design Studio, the transformation is generated in a platform-specific form. It can then be installed with the transformation engine for system test and production execution.
New in V8.2: Eclipse tooling for type trees and maps. The Eclipse workbench delivers a common, standards based, user experience across the WebSphere portfolio, and is supported by many independent software vendors today. The Type Designer and Map Designer tools now support the Eclipse standard look and feel. Importer utilities become Eclipse importers, and additional importers are included to support adapter connectivity with enterprise applications. The Database Interface Designer as well as the Integrated Flow Designer and management tools used with WebSphere Transformation Extender with Launcher have not been migrated to Eclipse in this release.
Native XML support is now available with tooling support for XML Schemas. These no longer need to be imported and converted to type trees as they now appear as type trees in map designer. Existing type trees still work with the new Eclipse look and feel tools.
WebSphere Transformation Extender SDK delivers the development environment for all of the APIs such as C, Java, EJB, and COBOL to integrate custom programming environments directly to WebSphere Transformation Extender. In addition, you can develop custom adapters for WebSphere Transformation Extender using this SDK and deploy them in any base edition. The SDK does not include the Design Studio. The SDK is available for writing client programs that connect directly to the stand-alone transformation engine. It adds the capability of the application programming edition to the other base editions.
WebSphere Transformation Extender industry packs
WebSphere Transformation Extender industry packs provide out-of-the-box capabilities to integrate a range of industry standard data formats with your enterprise infrastructure. Industry packs enable developers to accelerate the delivery of transformation solutions by providing predefined type tree templates, conversion maps, and in selected packs, provide validation maps and tools to remove risk from projects that require conformance to mandatory and advisory guidelines required by the regulatory body or industry service provider.
WebSphere Transformation Extender industry packs used in conjunction with WebSphere Transformation Extender, a universal data transformation engine, provide organizations with an infrastructure that can:

- Control administrative costs
- Streamline business processes
- Facilitate accuracy and timeliness of information
- Reuse existing business systems
- Adapt to new technologies as they emerge
- Integrate multiple systems and standards
- Automate cross-organizational exchanges
Note: WebSphere Transformation Extender Design Studio is capable of importing nearly any industry format when available to industry communities such as XML schema.
With V8.2 of WebSphere TX, the industry packs have been combined into industry groups for the purpose of enabling the announcement of new releases of related Packs, independently of the base edition announcements. Pack version numbers are now aligned to the group versions.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Packs for Financial Services V4.2.2
New in V8.2: National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA)
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for NACHA is a new pack delivering templates for 2007 Automated Clearing House (ACH) compliant message exchange.
Like many financial formats, ACH is in an 'envelope' structure consisting of a file header/trailer, batch header/trailer and detailed transaction records. This pack delivers extensive compliance using the validation rules and content restrictions included in the type tree definitions. Maps are included for conversion of Cash Concentration and Dispersion (CCD) and Corporate Trading Exchange (CTX) ACH formats.
The most common uses of ACH are online bill payment, mortgage and loan repayment, and direct deposit of payroll. ACH payments are an efficient and cost-reducing alternative to paper checks and credit cards.
Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA)
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for SEPA is a recently announced pack that helps banks and financial institutions meet their compliance obligations to the European Union initiative to have a pan-European electronic payments infrastructure. It includes templates for SEPA credit transfers and direct debits, mapping between SEPA and SWIFT message type103, as well as validation for European Payment Council's SEPA implementation guidelines.
New in V8.2: Additional converter examples for mapping MT101, 102,102+, 103+ SWIFT message types to SEPA credit transfer messages are included, and additional validation updates implemented from the European Payment Council updated guidelines of June 2007.
In addition, eBA® STEP2 support has been added to the bundle/unbundled example included in the SEPA Pack. STEP2 is the implementation of SWIFTNet FileAct and SWIFTStandards XML for Automated Clearing Houses used by the European Banking Association (EBA) pan-European retail payment clearing house.
SWIFT
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for SWIFTNet Funds provides support for SWIFT Funds October 2007 message sets, consolidated at MX V4.0, and updated transformations between SWIFTNet Funds and SWIFT FIN SRG 2007.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for SWIFTNet FIN is unchanged in this release.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Packs for Insurance V1.0.0
Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development (ACORD)
New in V8.2: WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for ACORD provides support for ACORD XML V1 standards for Property and Casualty/Surety and ACORD XML V2 Life Insurance. Type tree templates are included for non-vendor AL3 and a sample conversion map for AL3 to ACORD V1.
ACORD XML Schema are available to ACORD members only. Members are required to install the ACORD XML Schema as a prerequisite to using this pack.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Packs for Healthcare V4.3.0
HIPAA
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for HIPAA EDI includes ready-to-execute template definitions for the complete ASC X12N standard for HIPAA including HIPAA 4010 addendum, as well as CMS (formerly HCFA) formats for legacy NSF, UB-92 Claims and Coordination of Benefits, and 4010 flat file formats for Professional and Institutional Claims and Coordination of Benefits. The pack includes compliance checking and handling of claims attachments.
HIPAA EDI addresses the administrative simplification aspects of HIPAA legislation — the standardization of electronic patient health, administrative, and financial data. HIPAA regulations affect payers, health plans, clearinghouses, and those providers who conduct financial and administrative transactions electronically. This pack remains unchanged in this release.
Health Level 7 (HL7)
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for HL7 includes HL7 V2.1, V2.2, V2.3, and V2.5 type trees. HL7 V3 XML formats can be easily imported into the Design Studio Type Designer using the XML Importer built into the tool. HL7 is an ANSI-accredited standards organization operating in the healthcare arena. HL7's domain is clinical data. The HL7 produces standards for the exchange, management, and integration of data, intended to promote interoperability between healthcare information systems. This pack has HL7 V2.4 support added in V8.2.
National Council for Prescription Drugs (NCPDP)
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for NCPDP includes template definitions for all of the finalized HIPAA NCPDP Telecommunications V5.1 transaction sets and Batch V1.1 format. The pack also supports NCPDP V3.2 transaction sets and Batch V1.0 format. Sample maps are included to create reports from requests and replies.
NCPDP is a HIPAA-designated standards maintenance organization for finalized HIPAA transactions. NCPDP standards are used in the retail pharmacy sector. This pack is unchanged in V8.2.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Packs for EDI ASC X12
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for X12 includes prebuilt definitions for the ASC X12 transaction sets. ASC X12 represents multiple business domains including finance, government, health care, insurance, and transportation. It supports X12 5030 standard. New in September 2007, the X12 definitions in the pack were updated to support version 5040 as described by the Data InterChange Standards Association (DISA). The majority of changes are in transportation and shipping, and includes a new transaction "Customs and Border Protection".
Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce, and Transport (EDIFACT)
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for EDIFACT includes prebuilt definitions for the United Nations EDIFACT standards. It supports D.05a and D.05b. In September 2007, the EDIFACT definitions in the pack were updated to support EDIFACT D.06a and D.06b versions.
EANCOM
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for EANCOM provides prebuilt definitions for EDI solutions requiring standard exchange formats. The EAN identification system defines unique identification codes for products and locations often used for barcodes as well. Designed for the retail sector, EANCOM is used in healthcare, transport, electronics, and publishing. This pack is unchanged in V8.2.
Odette
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for Odette provides a template to help improve quality and shorten design time of EDI solutions for the automotive industry. Odette International is an organization formed by the automotive industry to sets the standards for e-business communications, engineering data exchange, and logistics management. This pack is unchanged in V8.2.
Trading Data Communications Standard (TRADACOMS)
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for TRADACOMS provides prebuilt definitions of TRADACOMS formats. TRADACOMS is an EDI standard used in the retail sector for general merchandise. This pack is unchanged in V8.2.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Enterprise Packs
WebSphere Transformation Extender Enterprise Packs provide out-of-the-box capabilities to accelerate the connectivity of WebSphere TX with key ISV business applications such as:
- WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for PeopleSoft
- WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for SAP R/3
- WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for SAP XI
- WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for Siebel
Each Enterprise Pack provides the capability for WebSphere TX to leverage one or more interfaces, provided by the vendor, for external applications to communicate and exchange business information. In addition to detailed documentation of the interfaces and the steps needed to integrate the application, adapters and plug-in "assist" applications are provided for both synchronous and asynchronous connectivity to the WebSphere TX transformation engine. No manual coding is required. Where the ISV application supports and publishes well defined data exchange formats, (for example, SAP), importers are included which help discover and replicate the application-specific metadata ensuring a higher degree of compliance with the syntax, semantics, and structure. The packs enable developers, testers, and the production staff to accomplish more through deeper integration with their enterprise environments.

WebSphere Transformation Extender: Miscellaneous options
New in V8.2: WebSphere Transformation Extender SNMP Collection enables integration with network management applications. The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Collection includes the SNMP Agent, which enables monitoring and management by an SNMP manager and an SNMP Adapter, which enables the sending of alerts to SNMP manager products from WebSphere Transformation Extender Maps.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Trading Manager enables you to manage and control the business-to-business (B2B) integration of partner relationships and message flows. WebSphere Transformation Extender Trading Manager users can audit, control, monitor, and view the entire B2B integration environment across the extended enterprise with secure data exchange fully integrated with back-end systems. This product remains at V8.1
Trading Manager consists of two components: Partner Manager (a graphical client for administering partner and trade link information) and Message Manager (a run-time system that manages integration of inbound and outbound partner messages). WebSphere Transformation Extender Trading Manager is an application that requires the WebSphere Transformation Extender with Launcher base edition, and is enhanced for use with an EDI or HIPPA industry pack.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Trading Manager can be integrated with WebSphere Partner Gateway to provide an end-to-end B2B integration environment and expand the reach of WebSphere TX into B2B and EDI Gateway customer self-service, security, and AS1, AS2, and AS3 futures.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Security Collection offers additional adapters to encrypt and decrypt data according to many popular standards. Adapters included are S/MIME, SSL, and OpenPGP. WebSphere Transformation Extender Security Collection works with any base edition.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Launcher Agent includes an inbound HTTP agent for WebSphere Transformation Extender. This enables WebSphere Transformation Extender with Launcher to listen and respond to HTTP requests. WebSphere Transformation Extender Launcher Agent requires the WebSphere Transformation Extender with Launcher base edition.
WebSphere Transformation Extender Pack for Web Services is withdrawn as a product as of V8.2. All base editions now include the Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) importer components, previously provided as an option, to deliver a transformation as a Web Service, and the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) adapter, previously provided as an option. The base editions also include SOAP and HTTP adapters.

IPLA and Subscription and Support considerations
IPLA licenses can be transferred from one machine to another within, but not limited to an enterprise. You may aggregate the capacity for all the processors the product is operated on to achieve a more economic price. This will result in a single Proof of Entitlement (PoE). It is your responsibility to manage the distribution of Value Units within the limits of the entitlement of the product license.
Subscription and Support must cover the same capacity as the product license entitlement. Subscription and Support will be available in the country in which the agreement is made.

Planning information
Customer responsibilities: Software Maintenance, previously referred to as Software Subscription and Technical Support, is included in the Passport Advantage Agreement. Installation and technical support is provided by the Software Maintenance offering of the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement. This fee service enhances customer productivity, with voice and electronic access into IBM support organizations.
Software Maintenance is included with licenses purchased through Passport Advantage and Passport Advantage Express. Product upgrades and technical support are provided by the Software Maintenance offering as described in the Agreements. Product upgrades provide the latest versions and releases to entitled software and technical support provides voice and electronic access to IBM support organizations, worldwide.
IBM includes one year of Software Maintenance with each program license acquired. The initial period of Software Maintenance can be extended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available.

Charge metrics definitions
Value Unit
A Value Unit is a pricing charge metric for program license entitlements which is based upon the quantity of a specific designated measurement used for a given program. Each program has a designated measurement. The most commonly used designated measurement is a processor core. However, for select Programs, there are other designated measurements such as users, client devices, and messages. The number of Value Unit entitlements required for a program depends on how the program is deployed in your environment and must be obtained from a Value Unit table. You must obtain a PoE for the calculated number of Value Unit entitlements for your implementation. The Value Unit entitlements are specific to a program and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with Value Unit entitlements of another program.
Processor (Value Unit)
A processor core is a functional unit within a computing device that interprets and executes instructions. A processor core consists of at least an instruction control unit and one or more arithmetic or logic unit. With multicore technology, each core is considered a processor. Not all processor cores require the same number of Value Unit entitlements. To calculate the number of Value Unit entitlements required, refer to the value unit table on the following Web site
With full capacity licensing, a PoE must be acquired for the appropriate number of value units based on all activated processor cores available for use on the server.
Sub-capacity processor (Value Unit)
For programs eligible for sub-capacity licensing, a PoE must be acquired for the appropriate number of value units based on all activated processor cores available for use in each partition (utilizing eligible partitioning technologies) where the program runs. Refer to the International Passport Advantage Agreement Attachment for sub-capacity terms or the program's license information to determine applicable sub-capacity terms.
Authorized user
An authorized user is one and only one individual (named or unnamed) within or outside your enterprise. A PoE must be obtained for each individual user accessing the program in any manner. A program licensed under an authorized user PoE may be installed on a single computer or server, and accessed by multiple users, provided that a PoE has been obtained for each individual user accessing the program either directly or indirectly (via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means on behalf of the user.
Server
A server is a computer system that executes requested procedures, commands, or applications to one or more user or client devices over a network. A POE must be obtained for each server on which the program or a component of the program is run or for each server managed by the program. Where blade technology is employed, each blade is considered a separate server.
Per application instance
You are permitted to deploy and run one copy of the licensed product on one server. If you have more than one WTX Base Edition installed on a server (for example, system test, backup, and production) an application instance of the licensed product is required for each WTX Base Edition installation. You may install the licensed product on any number of Design Studio servers.
Per establishment
If you have acquired an establishment authorization, you are permitted to deploy an unlimited number of copies of the licensed program only on servers owned or leased by you that are located at a single physical site, including the surrounding campus and satellite offices.

Sub-capacity for selected middleware products
Sub-capacity licensing on a per processor or per Value Unit basis is available for selected middleware products. To offer sub-capacity licensing, IBM software products implement IBM Tivoli® License Compliance Manager within their offerings so that you can monitor and report quarterly to IBM on the use of the programs on a continuous basis.

Eligibility requirements for sub-capacity licensing
To be eligible for sub-capacity licensing terms on this product, you must agree to install and configure IBM Tivoli License Manager for IBM Software, in accordance with the IBM Tivoli License Manager publications, and to enable the collection of program use data on all eligible machines subject to sub-capacity terms.
For those machines running programs with sub-capacity licensing terms, you must use IBM Tivoli License Manager for IBM Software to monitor program use and submit to IBM an IBM Use Report each calendar quarter. Multiple copies of IBM Tivoli License Manager for IBM Software or IBM Tivoli License Manager are not required. You can use more copies if you need them to support your operational environment, but only one copy is required to monitor all your sub-capacity licensed products.
Additionally, if this is the first product you have licensed under sub-capacity terms, you must agree to the terms of an attachment to your Passport Advantage or Passport Advantage Express contract and submit a new Passport Advantage enrollment form. First-time sub-capacity clients also have an opportunity to ensure a primary business contact is established for their contracts.

If you order (this product) under sub-capacity terms, IBM Tivoli License Manager for IBM Software will be made available to you if you do not already have one. You must install and configure this tool for your sub-capacity products. Alternately, you can use Tivoli License Manager. Once the license manager software is installed, you will be required to register online (IBM may need to contact you in order to finalize the registration process.) You must monitor program use on a continuous basis with an IBM Tivoli License Manager for IBM Software and submit IBM Use Reports to IBM on a calendar quarterly basis.

The information provided in this announcement letter is for reference and convenience purposes only. The terms and conditions that govern any transaction with IBM are contained in the applicable contract documents such as the IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA), IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement, and the IBM Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance.
Licensing: IPLA including the license information document and PoE govern your use of the program. PoEs are required for all authorized use.
Part number products only, offered outside of Passport Advantage, where applicable, are license only and do not include Software Maintenance.

Limited warranty applies: Yes
Warranty: IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible for the results obtained from the use of the program.
IBM provides you with access to IBM databases containing information on known Program defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no additional charge. Consult the IBM Software Support Guide for further information at
IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee acquires the program (warranty period).
Program technical support: Technical support of a program product will be available for a minimum of three years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates, releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee.
Money-back guarantee: If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.
For programs acquired under the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement, this term applies only to your first acquisition of the program.
Authorization for use on home/portable computer: The program may be stored on the primary machine and another machine, provided that the program is not in active use on both machines at the same time. You may not copy and use this program on another computer without paying additional license fees.

Software Maintenance applies: Yes. Software Maintenance is included with licenses purchased through Passport Advantage and Passport Advantage Express. Product upgrades and technical support are provided by the Software Maintenance offering as described in the Agreements. Product upgrades provide the latest versions and releases to entitled software and Technical Support provides voice and electronic access to IBM support organizations, worldwide.
IBM includes one year of Software Maintenance with each program license acquired. The initial period of Software Maintenance can be extended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available.
While your Software Maintenance is in effect, IBM provides you assistance for your routine, short duration installation and usage (how-to) questions, and code-related questions. IBM provides assistance via telephone and, if available, electronic access, to your information systems (IS) technical support personnel during the normal business hours (published prime shift hours) of your IBM support center. (This assistance is not available to your end users.) IBM provides Severity 1 assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For additional details, consult your IBM Software Support Guide at
Software Maintenance does not include assistance for the design and development of applications, your use of programs in other than their specified operating environment, or failures caused by products for which IBM is not responsible under the applicable agreements.

enables IBM to provide better support and service for your IBM server.
