DB2 Content Manager OnDemand provides online access to reports and documents, support for electronic bill presentment and payment solutions, and the ability to deliver self-service access to bills, invoices, and statements.
DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for iSeries delivers advanced capabilities for management of reports and other output. Core functions include:
- Automatic document indexing and storage
- Report data compression
- Automatic storage migration from disk to optical or tape media
- Powerful search facilities
- Logical views
- Named queries
- Electronic "sticky notes"
In addition, DB2 Content Manager OnDemand V5.4 supports the IBM 3996 Optical Library.
Last supported release for SFA, AnyStore, RA, and OA
DB2 Content Manager OnDemand V5.4 includes the Common Server environment, as well as the legacy environments of Spool File Archive (SFA), AnyStore, Record Archive (RA), and Object Archive (OA). All of these environments are fully supported under i5/OS V5.4.
This is the last release that SFA, AnyStore, RA, and OA will be shipped and supported. Beginning with DB2 Content Manager OnDemand V5.3, an SFA migration utility is available in the program package, providing the capability to migrate report definitions and indexes from the legacy SFA environment to the OnDemand Common Server environment. New installations and new applications of DB2 Content Manager OnDemand should be deployed using the Common Server environment.
Packaging changes for OnDemand Web Enablement Kit
As previously announced in Software Announcement 205-065, dated March 8, 2005, the OnDemand Web Enablement Kit (ODWEK) is now included in the base entitlement for DB2 Content Manager OnDemand. With this release, the eClient and prerequisites are removed from ODWEK to simplify packaging. These components continue to be shipped and available in DB2 Content Manager for iSeries (5722-VI1).
OnDemand Enhancements for AS/400® PRPQ
The OnDemand Enhancements PRPQ (5799-GEQ) has been withdrawn from marketing and is no longer
available. Customers who currently have this PRPQ installed can continue to receive support until
the end of support for DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for iSeries V5.4. Customers will be notified of
end of support at least one year in advance via the standard IBM announcement letter process.

Processor
In Full Capacity charging, PoEs must be acquired for all activated processors (available for use) that are on the server where the program or a component of the program is run.
- If there are program components included in the offering whose function is not to be included in the charge metric, these must be listed in the Program-unique Terms of the License Information.
- IBM defines a physical processor in a computer as a functional unit that interprets and executes instructions. A physical processor consists of at least an instruction control unit and one or more arithmetic and logic units.
- Multicore technology allows two or more processors (commonly called "cores") to be active on a single silicon chip. Unless otherwise announced, with multicore technology, IBM considers each core to be a physical processor. For example, in a dual-core chip, there are two physical processors residing on the single silicon chip.
- In the zSeries' Integrated Facility for Linux (IFL) environment, each IFL engine is considered a single physical processor.
- Threading, a technique which makes a single processor seem to perform as two or more, does not affect the count of physical processors.
- Where blade technology is employed, each blade is considered a separate server and charging is based upon the total number of processors on the blade on which the program is run.
Authorized User:
An Authorized User (user) is one and only one individual, machine, program, or device with a specific identity (ID) within or outside your enterprise.
A PoE is evidence of your authorization to use a program and is required for each user accessing the program or any component, application, feature, function, or capability thereof, either directly or indirectly, through any means on behalf of the user in any manner.
The program may be installed on one or more computers and accessed by multiple users provided that a user authorization has been obtained for each individual user.
- Users have unique specific identity and IDs cannot be shared.
- An ID may establish one or more connections and count as a single user.
- An ID may only be reassigned for the long-term replacement of personnel, machine, program, or device.

| IBM Electronic Services |
IBM Global Services has transformed its delivery of hardware and software support services to put you on the road to higher systems availability. IBM Electronic Services is a Web-enabled solution that provides you with an exclusive, no-additional-charge enhancement to the service and support available on the IBM eServer® platform. These services provide the opportunity for greater system availability due to faster problem resolution and preemptive monitoring. IBM Electronic Services is comprised of two separate but complementary elements: IBM Electronic Services news page and IBM Electronic Service Agent.
IBM Electronic Services news page provides you with a single Internet entry point that replaces the multiple entry points traditionally used by customers to access IBM Internet services and support. The news page enables you to gain easier access to IBM resources for assistance in resolving technical problems.
The IBM Electronic Service Agent is no-additional charge software that resides on your IBM eServer system. It is designed to proactively monitor events and transmit system inventory information to IBM on a periodic, customer-defined timetable. The IBM Electronic Service Agent tracks system inventory, hardware error logs, and performance information. If the server is under a current IBM maintenance service agreement or within the IBM warranty period, the Service Agent automatically reports hardware problems to IBM. Early knowledge about potential problems enables IBM to provide proactive service that may result in higher system availability and performance. In addition, information collected through the Service Agent will be made available to IBM service support representatives when they are helping answer your questions or diagnosing problems.
