Workplace for Business Strategy Execution, Team and Enterprise Editions help solve those difficult problems by allowing organizational objectives to be cascaded down an organization to ensure alignment. A company may have a series of high level objectives towards which everyone in the company should be working. Workplace for Business Strategy Execution allows those objectives to be defined and cascaded down an organization in order to provide alignment to those objectives. Additionally, objectives can be linked to each other to show a holistic view of how a strategy impacts different parts of the organization.
By delivering detail on organizational objectives and access to back end systems to provide metrics to employees, Workplace for Business Strategy Execution lets employees be more accountable to those goals and make better decisions faster. Typically, only executives have access to robust scorecards and dashboards. IBM Workplace for Business Strategy Execution makes creating and rolling out role-based work environments simple and cost effective for any level employee.
Finally, with the tight integration of a myriad of collaborative tools, Workplace for Business Strategy Execution, Team and Enterprise Editions make it simple to react once a problem is highlighted in order to solve it quickly.
Workplace for Business Strategy Execution, Team Edition also includes the Workplace Services Express platform. Workplace Services Express V2.5 delivers the flexibility and choice in the way you access and interact with your company's applications and content by allowing you to do so from a browser. The browser could be one on your work PC, or in a branch office, or in some other location.
In the past, you might have had to use different clients, visit different Web sites, and use different IDs and passwords to work with the variety of applications and content that you need. Workplace Services Express includes an integrated portal that delivers one location to visit, with a single sign-on across multiple applications all from a browser.
In addition to team spaces (online work areas), document management, and instant messaging, your e-mail, calendar, and other business applications and content can be integrated into Workplace Services Express and accessed from a browser. You are not limited by the constraints of being required to use a unique PC with traditional PC-centric software installed on it. Workplace Services Express' portal pages are also customizable. This means you can choose which applications and content appear on which portal page, and how they are arranged on the page. Drag-and-drop technology allows you to simply drag applications from one area of a portal page to another. You wind up with a portal that is more comfortable to use and has the information on it that you need.
Workplace for Business Strategy Execution, Enterprise Edition also includes the powerful WebSphere Portal platform. WebSphere Portal for Multiplatforms V5.1.0.1 is designed for businesses that face pressure to reduce costs and improve revenue in this tight economy. Reducing employee costs while improving productivity and retaining satisfied employees is also a challenge most organizations face today.
Building a sense of loyalty and greater degree of satisfaction with existing customers opens new opportunities for lower cost up-sell or cross-sell revenue for the organization. In Full Capacity charging Proof of entitlements (PoEs) must be acquired for all activated "processors" (available for use) that are on the server where the Program or a component of the program is run.
- If there are program components included in the offering whose function is not to be included in the charge metric, these must be listed in the program-unique terms of the License Information.
- IBM defines a physical processor in a computer as a functional unit that interprets and executes instructions. A physical processor consists of at least an instruction control unit and one or more arithmetic and logic units.
- Multicore technology allows two or more processors (commonly called "cores") to be active on a single silicon chip. Unless otherwise announced, with multicore technology, IBM considers each "core" to be a physical processor. For example, in a dual-core chip, there are two physical processors residing on the single silicon chip.
- In the zSeries® Integrated Facility for Linux (IFL) environment, each IFL engine is considered a single "physical processor."
- Threading, a technique which makes a single processor seem to perform as two or more, does not affect the count of physical processors.
- Where "blade" technology is employed, each "blade" is considered a separate server and charging is based upon the total number of processors on the blade on which the program is run.
20 users
Registered User: A Registered User also known as a named user (user) is an individual, machine, program, or device with a specific identity (ID) within or outside your enterprise which is recorded in a registry (table, directory, and so on.
A Proof of Entitlement (PoE) is required for each 20 users accessing the program or any program component either directly or indirectly through any means on behalf of the users. An example of "indirect" access would be through a multiplexing program, device, or application server.
The program can be accessed by multiple users provided that a user authorization has been obtained for each 20 users.
- Access to the program is restricted to users recorded in the registry.
- Users have a unique specific identity and IDs cannot be shared.
- When multiple, unique registries exist, the registries will be additive for charging purposes even if a specific ID exists in both registries.
- An ID can establish one or more connections and count as a single User.
