IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric agent configuration restrictions: The IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric agent should not be configured to issue commands on any system that sends SCSI commands over a fibre channel to a removable media drive. Removable media drives may not be able to queue commands sent by the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric agent under normal operations and it is likely to result in the application, using the removable media drive, to time out. This restriction can be addressed by not installing IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric agents on these systems or by configuring the agents to avoid the removable media systems.
Installability
When upgrading from IBM Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager V1.3.0 or V1.3.1 or IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center V2.1 or V2.2, the database is automatically upgraded during the installation of the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric V2.3 manager. After this database upgrade, the user can no longer run a previous version of the manager with the database.
As a normal precaution, it is recommended that a full database backup be performed before installing the V2.3 code, as well as after completing the installation.
As part of a migration plan from Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager V1.3 or IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center V2.1 or V2.2 to IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric V2.3, agents may be upgraded any time after the manager upgrade. IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric V2.3 supports Tivoli Storage Area Network Manager V1.3 agents as well as IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric V2.1 and 2.2 agents. The IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric V2.1 manager and remote consoles must be upgraded on the same schedule.

| IBM Tivoli Enhanced Value-Based Pricing |
The IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center products are priced using a managed-environment approach whereby price is determined by the amount of storage capacity under management rather than the number and type of product components installed.
This licensing model can provide the customer flexibility to deploy these software products within its environment in a manner that can address and respond to the customer's evolving architecture. That is, as the architecture of a customer's environment changes, the customer's implementation of these products can be altered as needed without affecting the customer's license requirements (as long as the customer does not exceed its entitlements to the software).
Value-Based Pricing terminology definitions
IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center terabyte (TB) capacity: A TB capacity is each individual TB of storage capacity managed by the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center products. Managed capacity for IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Replication includes both the source and target devices.
Terabyte: One TB of managed storage; (T/TB) = 2 raised to the power of 40 bytes = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes, trillion bytes.

Passport Advantage
Through the Passport Advantage Agreement, customers may receive discounted pricing based on their total volume of eligible products, across all IBM brands, acquired worldwide. The volume is measured by determining the total "Passport Advantage points value" of the applicable acquisitions. Passport Advantage points are only used for calculating the entitled Passport Advantage discount.
To determine the required Tivoli product configuration under Passport Advantage, the Tivoli Enhanced Value-Based Pricing Model applies. The customer's environment is evaluated on a per-product basis.
Use the following two-step process to determine the total "Passport Advantage points value":
- Analyze the customer environment to determine the number of charge units for a product. The quantity of each product's part numbers to be ordered is determine by that analysis.
- Order the Passport Advantage part numbers. A Passport Advantage point value, which is the same worldwide for a specific part number regardless of where the order is placed, is assigned to each Tivoli product part number. The Passport Advantage point value for the applicable part number multiplied by the quantity for that part number will determine the Passport Advantage points for that Tivoli product part number. The sum of these Passport Advantage points determines the "Passport Advantage point value" of the applicable Tivoli product authorizations which then may be aggregated with the point value of other applicable Passport Advantage product acquisitions to determine the total "Passport Advantage points value."
The discounted pricing available through Passport Advantage is expressed in the form of Suggested Volume Prices (SVPs), which vary depending on the SVP level. Each SVP level is assigned a minimum total Passport Advantage point value, which must be achieved, in order to qualify for that SVP level.
Media packs and documentation packs do not carry Passport Advantage points and are not eligible for SVP discounting.
For additional information on Passport Advantage, refer to the following Web site
The following Passport Advantage part number categories may be orderable:
- License and Software Maintenance 12 Months this is the product authorization with maintenance to the first anniversary date.
- Annual Software Maintenance Renewal this is the maintenance renewal for one anniversary that applies when a customer renews their existing coverage period prior to the anniversary date at which it expires.
- Software Maintenance Reinstatement 12 months this is for customers who have allowed their Software Maintenance to expire, and later wish to reinstate their Software Maintenance.
- Media packs these are the physical media, such as CD-ROMs, that deliver the product's code.
- Documentation packs these contain printed documentation such as the User's Guide and Release Notes .
Pricing examples New purchases
If the customer purchases entitlements on managed TBs that are the same for all three components of the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center Standard Edition (Data, Disk, and Fabric), they are eligible to purchase the Standard Edition.
IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center Standard Edition offers capacity-based pricing, based on one price for all three components of IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Data, Fabric, and Disk. However, if capacities for each component are different, they can purchase entitlements based on individual standalone pricing. As managed capacity increases, customers should add entitlements to cover this additional capacity as part of their renewals.
Scenario 1: Customer wants to manage 25 TBs of storage capacity with the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Disk, Data, and Fabric.

Migration examples
- The migration path is the same for customers moving to IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center V2.2, and later versions.
- IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center V2.2 customers, who are current on Software Maintenance, are entitled to migrate to V2.3, with an equivalent environment.
Scenario 1: This conversion looks at a migration where capacity is already known, and capacity-based pricing can be used to offer customer pricing based on individual products (IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Data and IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric).
Systems Current Migration managed entitlement vehicle 240 processors 240 processors 25 TB of IBM of Tivoli of Tivoli TotalStorage Storage Storage Productivity Resource Resource Center for Manager base Manager base Data V2.3 or IBM or IBM TotalStorage TotalStorage Productivity Productivity Center for Center for Data V2.1 Data V2.1 300 processors 300 processors 25 TB of IBM of Tivoli of Tivoli TotalStorage San Manager San Manager Productivity or IBM or IBM Center for TotalStorage TotalStorage Fabric V2.3 Productivity Productivity Center for Center for Fabric V2.1 Fabric V2.1 Capacity of environment is 25 TBs
Scenario 2: This conversion looks at a migration where Tivoli Storage Resource Manager or IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Data V2.1, Tivoli Storage Resource Manager for Chargeback and Tivoli Storage Resource Manager for Database are re-priced on capacity (as well as the integration of the three products). Note that because of the integration of Chargeback and Database into IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Data, there is one price under the new pricing. Additionally, note that since there is initially no customer information on the number of managed terabytes, a conversion of 8 processors to 1 TB for IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Data and 2 processors for 1 TB for IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric is needed. The customer can provide additional customer information on managed terabytes to receive a more accurate entitlement conversion.
Systems Current Migration managed entitlement vehicle 100 processors 100 processors 12 TB of IBM of Tivoli of Tivoli Storage TotalStorage Storage Storage Productivity Resource Resource Center for Manager base Manager base Data V2.3 or IBM or IBM (based on TotalStorage TotalStorage 8:1 ratio) Productivity Productivity Center for Center for Data V2.1 Date V2.1 Systems Current Migration managed entitlement vehicle 20 processors 20 processors of Tivoli of Tivoli Storage Storage Resource Resource Manager for Manager for Chargeback Chargeback 20 processors 20 processors of Tivoli of Tivoli Storage Storage Resource Resource Manager for Manager for Databases Databases 50 processors 50 processors 25 TB of IBM of Tivoli SAN of Tivoli SAN TotalStorage Manager or IBM Manager or IBM Productivity TotalStorage TotalStorage Center for Productivity Productivity Fabric V2.3 Center for Center for (based on 2:1 Fabric V2.1 Fabric V2.1 ratio)
Scenario 3: This conversion looks at a migration where a customer has individual components of IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center and is migrating to the new version. If we know the size of the environment in TB, then a conversion ratio is not needed. Note that if the customer purchases entitlements on managed TBs that are the same for all three components of the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center Standard Edition (Data, Disk, and Fabric), they are eligible to migrate to the Standard Edition pricing.
Again, IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center Standard Edition offers capacity-based pricing based on one price for all three components of IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Data, Fabric, and Disk. However, if capacities for each component are different, customers may purchase entitlements based on individual standalone pricing. Also note that as managed capacity increases, customers should add entitlements to cover this additional capacity as part of their renewals.

Ordering information for Passport Advantage
Passport Advantage allows you to have a common anniversary date for Software Maintenance renewals, which can simplify management and budgeting for eligible new versions and releases (and related technical support) for your covered products. The anniversary date, established at the start of your Passport Advantage Agreement, will remain unchanged while your Passport Advantage Agreement remains in effect. New software purchases will initially include 12 full months of maintenance coverage. Maintenance in the second year (the first year of renewal) can be prorated to be coterminous with your common anniversary date. Thereafter, all software maintenance will renew at the common anniversary date and include 12 full months of maintenance.
Refer to the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement and to the IBM Software Maintenance Handbook for specific terms relating to, and a more complete description of, technical support provided through Software Maintenance.
For customers who will be migrating from IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Data V2.1 or IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center for Fabric V2.1 to V2.2 or V2.3, the renewal team will meet with the customer to learn more about the customer's specific environment and work with them through the renewal process, converting the processor metric to terabyte capacity.

Software Maintenance
This software license includes Software Maintenance, previously referred to as Software Subscription and Technical Support.
Extending coverage for a total of three years from date of acquisition may be elected. Order the program number, feature number, and quantity to extend coverage for your software licenses. If maintenance has expired, specify the after license feature number.
Software maintenance has three forms:
- A No-Charge Registration feature number for one year of software maintenance, designated with each new license or additional order under the One-Year Software Maintenance program ID.
- A Renewal feature number, used to renew maintenance while coverage is still current. For continuous software maintenance, Renewal features must be ordered prior to expiration of the original registration term of the product purchased (prior to one year from original purchase).
- An After License feature number, which is used to reinstate maintenance, if necessary, after the original registered coverage has lapsed. This feature is designated under the After License program ID.
Software Maintenance Registration
Software Maintenance for one year is provided with each order, through One-Year Software Maintenance Registration features in AAS, under the Software Maintenance program ID for the licensed program.
Order Software Maintenance Registration corresponding to the maximum Licensed terabyte capacity level purchased.
If you increase your capacity levels, your software maintenance capacity must be increased to correspond with the new capacity levels, at the time of the increase order.

Licensing: IBM International Program License Agreement and License Information document. Proofs of Entitlement (PoEs) are required for all authorized use. Part number products only, offered outside of Passport Advantage, where applicable, are license only and do not include Software Maintenance.
This software license includes Software Maintenance, previously referred to as Software Subscription and Technical Support.
The following agreement applies for maintenance and does not require customer signatures:
- IBM Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance (Z125-6011)
License information form number: L-NSTL-64TTWG
Limited warranty applies: Yes
Warranty: This program has warranty for a minimum of one year from acquisition from IBM or authorized IBM Business Partner. The warranty provided to the customer, for at least one year from acquisition, is access to databases (read Web sites) for program information and FAQs, including any known fixes to defects, which the customer can download or obtain otherwise and install at leisure.
Program technical support: Technical support of a program product will be available for a minimum of three years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates, releases, and versions of the program. Customers will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee.
Money-back guarantee: If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, return it within 30 days from the invoice date, to the party (either IBM or its reseller) from whom you acquired it, for a refund. For clarification, note that (1) for programs acquired under the IBM International Passport Advantage offering, this term applies only to your first acquisition of the program and (2) for programs acquired under any of IBM's On/Off Capacity on Demand (On/Off CoD) software offerings, this term does not apply since these offerings apply to programs already acquired and in use by the customer.

Software Maintenance, previously referred to as Software Subscription and Technical Support, is now included in the Passport Advantage Agreement. Installation and technical support for the products announced in this letter is provided by the Software Maintenance offering of the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement. This fee service enhances customer productivity by providing voice and/or electronic access into the IBM support organizations.
IBM includes one year of Software Maintenance with the initial license acquisition of each program acquired. The initial period of Software Maintenance can be extended by the purchase of a renewal option.
While your Software Maintenance is in effect, IBM provides you assistance for your routine, short duration installation and usage (how-to) questions; and code-related questions. IBM provides assistance via telephone and, if available, electronic access, only to your information systems (IS) technical support personnel during the normal business hours (published prime shift hours) of your IBM support center. (This assistance is not available to your end users.) IBM provides Severity 1 assistance 24 hours a day, every day of the year. For additional details, consult your IBM Software Support Guide at
Software Maintenance does not include assistance for the design and development of applications, your use of programs in other than their specified operating environment, or failures caused by products for which IBM is not responsible under this agreement.
