Overview

IBM is changing the way that DB2® Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS® and OS/390®, V7.1 is priced. The previous Server plus Concurrent User model is being replaced by a Server plus Authorized User model. Full details of the new pricing are included in the Ordering information section. Refer to Software withdrawal 905-058 , dated March 8, 2005, for part numbers being withdrawn, and Software Announcement 201-281 , dated September 25, 2001, for full product details of DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS and OS/390, V7.1.

The DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Web Enablement Kit (ODWEK), formerly priced separately, is now included in the base DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS product at no additional charge.

DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS is a key member of this portfolio — a robust, comprehensive solution for enterprise report management (ERM) and statement presentment that enables high-volume capture of computer output and archiving of scanned documents, including checks.

DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS provides streamlined, automatic distribution of selected reports and documents to authorized users, support for electronic bill presentment and payment solutions, and the ability to deliver self-service access to bills, invoices, and statements. Ordering information

The Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS, V7.1 package includes five chargeable units. Order one or more of the following to meet your requirements:

  • OnDemand Distribution Facility (ODF)

Explanation of terms

Note: The following terms supersede and replace the previous license terms. Updated licensing terms are included in the program package.

Program-unique terms

Library Server Feature

The Library Server Feature is a priced feature of DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS, V7.1. The Library Server Feature is included on the program media. You are not authorized to use the feature unless you first acquire a Proof of Entitlement (PoE) for this feature.

Object Server Feature

The Object Server Feature is a priced feature of Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS, V7.1. The Object Server Feature is included on the program media. You are not authorized to use the feature unless you first acquire a PoE for this feature.

Your license to IBM DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS, V7.1 entitles you to install, from the program package, the program server and the IBM DB2 Information Integrator for Content program server on any combination of servers as required to support your licensed Authorized Users. You may install more than one instance of the program servers and DB2 Information Integrator for Content program servers on one or more servers as is necessary to support up to the number of Authorized Users specified in the PoE.

You may elect to have your Information Technology Services managed solely for your benefit by a third party; however, as the licensee, you remain responsible for compliance with all terms and conditions, including but not limited to the acquisition and maintenance of a sufficient number of licenses as described in this License Information document. You may not assign, transfer, delegate, or sublicense any of your rights or obligations, in whole or in part, to such third party without the express written permission of IBM.

You may not use the program or any component thereof to provide hosting services to third parties unless otherwise agreed to in writing by IBM.

Authorized User

An Authorized User authorization must be obtained for each individual user accessing the program in any manner. Each Authorized User authorization is attributable to one and only one individual user, either within or outside your enterprise. An Authorized User authorization is required for each individual user who accesses the program or any component, application, feature, function, or capability thereof, either directly or indirectly, through any means on behalf of the user. Users require authorization for accessing content managed within, or distributed from the program server.

Each Authorized User authorization entitles one individual user to establish one or more connections to any number of program servers across any of the supported platforms with the exception of DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS, which requires a separate server PoE. An Authorized User authorization may only be reassigned for the long-term replacement of personnel. An Authorized User authorization may only be reassigned for the long-term replacement of personnel. The programs may be installed on one or more computers and accessed by multiple users, provided that an Authorized User authorization has been obtained for each individual user.

Licenses for optional priced features

DB2 Content Manager OnDemand PDF Indexer Feature

If you choose to install the IBM DB2 Content Manager OnDemand PDF Indexer Feature (the "PDF Indexer Feature"), you must acquire a Proof of Entitlement. Your license to the PDF Indexer Feature allows you to install and use the PDF Indexer Feature to support definition and capture of PDF data streams on one IBM DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Library Server. If you want to capture PDF data streams for additional DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Library Servers, you must acquire additional PDF Indexer Feature licenses. The PDF Indexer Feature is licensed per processor.

DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Report Distribution Feature

If you choose to install DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Report Distribution Feature (the "Report Distribution Feature"), you must acquire a PoE. Your license to the Report Distribution Feature authorizes you to interact with one DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Library program server component. If you want to interact with additional IBM DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Library program servers, you must acquire additional Report Distribution Feature licenses. The Report Distribution Feature is licensed per processor.

DB2 DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Distribution Facility (ODF)

The ODF feature is a priced feature of DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS, V7.1. One license to the DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Distribution Facility feature entitles you to install the program feature on one physical server. If you want to install additional programs on additional physical servers, you must acquire additional PoE.

Recipients of reports generated by the DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Distribution Facility do not need to be licensed as Authorized Users.

Limited use components

Included in the program package are limited use components for DB2 Universal Database® (UDB), IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition, WebSphere® Application Server, WebSphere MQ, and WebSphere MQ Workflow. Refer to the License Information included in the program package for complete terms.

DB2 UDB for z/OS and OS/390 is not included and must be purchased separately.

New price structure

With this announcement, DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS and OS/390 provides a new price structure.

Your current DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Concurrent User licenses will be converted to DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Authorized User licenses at your next maintenance renewal. Each DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Concurrent User license under active maintenance will be converted to five DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Authorized User licenses.

For example, if you have 20 DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Concurrent User licenses under active maintenance, you will have 100 DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Authorized Users when your maintenance is renewed. This will serve as the Proof of Entitlement to install as many DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Servers as required to support your licensed DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Authorized Users. You still must purchase your DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS and OS/390 Library Server license, DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Object Server license, and DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Object Distribution Facility license separately. The DB2 Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS Object Distribution Facility remains a separately licensed product.

The initial order quantity of DB2 Content Manager OnDemand users must consist of at least 20 authorized users. After the initial order, additional users may be ordered in any number necessary to support your specific environment.

There is no change to the program server pricing. The DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Library Server and DB2 Content Manager Object Server will retain their pricing as announced in Software Announcement 201-281 , dated September 18, 2001. The 5655-H80 part numbers are updated to reflect inclusion of the DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Web Enablement Kit.

A recipient of a CD-ROM created by the DB2 Content Manager OnDemand CD-ROM processes is not required to be licensed as an Authorized User.

Ordering z/OS through the Internet

It will analyze your current installation, determine the correct product migration, and present your new configuration based on z/OS.
