- Domino Unified Communication V1.2.2 for Cisco is now available for AIX V5.1 and V5.2.

| Overview |
Unified messaging represents the convergence of voice mail, e-mail, and fax so that all messages are stored in a single location and can be accessed from a variety of devices, including telephones and personal computers.
Unified communication takes unified messaging a step further by extending message access to additional devices and technologies such as mobile phones, pagers, PDAs, and browsers. In addition, unified communication provides notification features that will alert subscribers in different ways when they receive a message that meets certain criteria.
Benefits
- Unified Message store. All messages e-mail, voice, and fax are conveniently stored in one mail file.
- Customized message notification. Using profiles, subscribers identify important messages and specify how to be notified when those messages arrive.
- Browser-based access. Using Lotus® Domino Web Access, subscribers retrieve, create, and manage all messages e-mail, voice, and fax.
- Voice message playback and recording. Using an integrated audio player/recorder, subscribers create, manage, and listen to voice messages from their computers.
- Low-cost message storage. Storing voice messages on the industry-standard platforms supported by Lotus Domino is typically less expensive than storing them in a proprietary voice mail system.
- IBM support and consulting services. The Lotus Notes®, Domino Web Access, and Domino components of the unified communication solution are available from and supported by IBM. Site preparation, installation, and additional consulting services are available from IBM for individual components, as well as for the entire unified communication solution.
- Business Partner component support. IBM Business Partners or their authorized integrators are responsible for sale and support of all Business Partner components related to Lotus Domino Unified Communication.

In today's hectic work environment, where more work must be completed in less time, task consolidation and convenient communication is critical to working efficiently. Receiving and checking all types of messages voice mails, e-mails, and faxes in one place can save you time and frustration. What if instead of dialing into your voice mail for your voice messages, checking your e-mail on your computer or personal digital assistant (PDA), and walking to the fax machine you could simply access all these messages from one device that you choose?
IBM Lotus Domino Unified Communication conveniently stores all message types e-mail, voice mail, and fax in the Domino server-based mail file and can be accessed and managed from a variety of devices, including personal computers and telephones. This new version of Lotus Domino Unified Communication adds support for IBM Lotus Notes and Domino V6.5.x.
For organizations seeking to improve business productivity, Lotus Domino Unified Communication helps end users gain faster access to the right information from existing systems and work more effectively with customers, suppliers, and colleagues. Voice messages are played back on the user's computer using an integrated audio player/recorder. End users can customize their unified communications experience by editing their user profiles to identify important messages and specify the notification method used when those messages are received.
The Lotus Notes, Domino Web Access, and Domino components of the unified communications solution are available from and supported by IBM. Site preparation, installation, and additional consulting services are available from IBM for individual components, as well as for the entire unified communications solution.
IBM Business Partners or their authorized integrators are responsible for sale and support of all Business Partner components related to Lotus Domino Unified Communication.

The Publications Center is a worldwide central repository for IBM product publications and marketing material with a catalog of 70,000 items. Extensive search facilities are provided.
