| Ordering information |
Charge units are Per Install for 1-2 CPU Systems and Per Install for 1-8 CPU Systems for SLES8 and Per Install for 1-2 CPU Systems and Per Install for 1-16 CPU Systems for SLES9. The product can be run in multiple LPARs on the system it was purchased for. If multiple licenses are required (system contains more than 8 CPUs), then licenses for multiple installs can be purchased in a single order by ordering the required quantity of the billing feature when configuring the order.
Currently, Novell SUSE ships the media associated with orders for SLES8 (PID 5639-LNX). Beginning August 31, 2004, IBM will ship the media for this product as well as SLES9 (PID 5639-SLP).
Supply for SLES8 will continue to be delivered under the product PID (5639-LNX).
Media for SLES9 will be delivered via the 5692-A5L System Program Order (SPO).
Orders for SLES9 (PID 5639-SLP) will contain two components, a billing component utilizing the product PID (5639-SLP) and associated billing features, and a supply component utilizing the 5692-A5L SPO and associated supply features. Both the billing feature and appropriate supply feature must be selected from the following table.
Effective now, supply for the SLES9 (5639-SLP) product will be delivered via the 5692-A5L SPO. A 5692-A5L SPO is mandatory to ship the program media and publications. The individual licensed program orders (for 5639-SLP) are for billing purposes only. No shipment of either media or publications occurs under these orders.
To receive a CD-ROM shipment, an SPO (5692-A5L) order is required. To prevent additional billing expenses, place only one SPO order per release of the operating system. Select the appropriate features from the following table for CD-ROM shipment. The supply features in the following table will deliver both the media kit and a product registration card. Information instructing the customer of how to register the product with Novell SUSE, Inc., is included in the media kit. The appropriate OTC and supply features must be selected from the following tables.
Note: Shipments will begin after the planned availability date. Configurator support will not be available until August 3, 2004, as stated in the Configurator information section of this announcement.
