Overview
Prices for AIX® Performance AIDE are restructured from a license-per-server to a license-per-processor basis. Also, AIX Performance AIDE V3.1 is available for preinstall at no additional charge when the preinstall option is accompanied by a hardware system order for the preinstalled AIX 5L V5.1 or V5.2 operating system.
The AIX Bonus Pack and AIX Web Download Pack contain the following new software:
- PM/AIX is a Web-based fee service that collects and summarizes your pSeries® or RS/6000® performance and capacity data. You can view graphical reports through a secure Web site to identify how well your system is performing.
- Service Agent monitors IBM eServer® pSeries and RS/6000 systems for hardware errors, reporting critical errors to IBM for service.
Updated software in the packs includes:
- Tivoli® Storage Manager V5.2 for AIX 5.1 and 5.2
- AIX iSCSI Initiator V1.1.0 for AIX 5.2
- Netscape Communicator 4.8.0.10 for AIX 5.1 and 5.2 (AIX Expansion Pack only)

Mozilla 1.4 for AIX, an open source Web browser, is available on the Mozilla 1.4 Web Browser and Application Suite for AIX CD-ROM. It also can be downloaded from:

Warranty service extended for various AIX V5.1 and V5.2 programs: For a list of these programs, refer to the Description section.
AIX upgrade notification process changed: If you currently register to be notified of AIX upgrades and updates, you also receive information regarding online ordering. The online ordering information is no longer specific to a particular geography.

HACMP/XD V5 IP-Based Extended Distance feature now available
The Internet Protocol (IP)-Based Extended Distance capability of HACMP/XD V5, which was announced June 24, 2003, will be available October 17, 2003. IP-based mirroring will provide unlimited distance data mirroring, allowing a cluster of IBM eServer pSeries or RS/6000 computers to be placed in two widely separated geographic locations, each maintaining an exact replica of the application and data. Data synchronization during production, fallover, recovery, and restoration is provided.
HACMP/XD V5 IP-based mirroring augments the HACMP/XD feature portfolio made available in July, which included IBM Enterprise Storage Subsystem (ESS) Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy (PPRC) capability.

Preinstall: IBM recommends that backup media be chosen with preinstalled orders. Not all of the software offered under the licensed program will be preinstalled on the system disk. To take delivery of backup media, media feature number 3410 must be specified. Software preinstalled on the hard disk does not include all of the function included on the media.
The program order 5765-E68 and system program order (SPO) 5692-A5L must be for the same system type/number and must have the same scheduled shipment date.
Feature number 5005 must be specified on the 5692-A5L SPO order to facilitate preinstall of the licensed program on the system disk.
