  • Functions of WEA
  • Low startup price
  • Licensing for up to 50 users
  • Unique program terms
  • Ability to start small and grow at your own pace
  • Protection for your investments

Overview

WebSphere® Everyplace™ Access (WEA) Starter Edition is designed for customers who want the benefits of WEA, but want to start on a smaller scale than is allowed under the full entitlement version of WEA. WEA Starter Edition provides the same function as WEA V4.3, with different licensing and pricing.

With WEA Starter Edition you can start with a smaller investment and expand at your own pace. The WEA Starter Edition allows you to begin using the complete WEA V4.3 product with up to 50 users and at a lower entry price. When you are ready to expand, you can convert your license to the full entitlement version of WEA for a discounted price without having to reinstall the program software.

For a full description of WEA V4.3, including technical requirements and information, refer to Software Announcement 203-114 , dated April 29, 2003.

Description

The WEA Starter Edition is intended for customers who want to start with a small WebSphere Everyplace Access installation and expand at a later time.

After working with the WEA Starter Edition on a small scale, you can expand your Everyplace Access environment by converting to the licensing of the full entitlement version of WEA. When you decide to expand, you get a discounted price and you do not have to reinstall the program software.

For more information, contact your IBM Pervasive Computing representative or IBM Business Partner, or refer to Software Announcement 203-114 , dated April 29, 2003.

Product Positioning

WEA Starter Edition is the ideal way to begin using WEA with a small group of users and a low-cost initial investment. When it is time to expand your WEA environment, you can convert your licensing to the full entitlement version of WEA without having to reinstall the program software, and at a discounted price.

WEA Starter Edition customers are only entitled to use the program for up to a maximum of 50 users.

When the initial release of WEA V4.3 (V4.3.0) is replaced by the modified release (V4.3.1), the program software in the WEA Starter Edition will also be updated.
