Planned Availability Dates
WebSphere Portal Enable for iSeries provides a single point of access to the applications, content, processes, and people in your network from diverse sources and systems.
WebSphere Portal Enable includes a portal framework, which provides facilities for integrating the portal with applications and data sources, management of administration tasks such as portal membership, and also connectivity and presentation services.
Customization functions in WebSphere Portal Enable allow portal users to select which applications they view and how they wish to view them. WebSphere Portal Enable includes a great many portlets for accessing applications such as e-mail, calendars, collaboration, and syndicated news. In keeping with its commitment to open standards, IBM provides a portlet API so you easily extend portlet function. WebSphere Portal Enable provides "single sign-on," which means portal users avoid having to sign on to each individual application that they access through the portal. Logons to WebSphere Portal Enable pass through an authentication layer that provides portal access control. If the logon is authenticated, a "single sign-on" component stores user information for later use by other programs that require authentication.

WebSphere Portal Enable for iSeries V4.1 is capable on delivery, when used in accordance with IBM's associated documentation, of satisfying the applicable requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, 29 U.S.C. Section 794d, as implemented by 36 C.F.R. Part 1194, provided that any Assistive Technology used with the product properly interoperates with it.

No printed publications are shipped with this program. Product documentation is included with the program software and may be printed by the customer.
The Publications Center is a worldwide central repository for IBM product publications and marketing material with a catalog of 70,000 items. Extensive search facilities are provided. Payment options for orders are via credit card or customer number. A large number of publications are available online in various file formats, and they can all be downloaded free of charge.
The IBM Publications Notification System (PNS)
The PNS enables subscribers to set up profiles of interest by order number/product number. PNS subscribers automatically receive notifications by e-mail of all new publications defined in their profiles. These may then be ordered/downloaded via the Publications Center.

Packaging: WebSphere® Portal for iSeries V4.1 is available to Passport Advantage customers via electronic download from the Passport Advantage Web site or as a CD-ROM media package. Visit the Passport Advantage Web site at:
This program, when downloaded from the Web site or loaded from the CD-ROM media package, contains the applicable IBM license agreement and License Information (LI), which will be presented for acceptance at the time of installation of the program. The license and LI will be stored in a directory such as LICENSE.TXT for future reference. The program package contains the International Program License Agreement (IPLA) Terms and Conditions and Proof of Entitlement (PoE).

WebSphere Portal for iSeries V4.1 uses the security and auditability features of the host operating system.
The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities.

Expedite shipments will be processed to receive 72-hour delivery from the time IBM Software Delivery and Fulfillment (SDF) receives the order. SDF will then ship the order via overnight air transportation.
Terms and Conditions
Licensing: IBM IPLA. PoE are required for all authorized use. Part number products only, offered outside of Passport Advantage, where applicable, are license only and do not include Software Maintenance.
This software license includes Software Maintenance, previously referred to as Software Subscription and Technical Support.
Extending coverage for a total of three years from date of acquisition may be elected. Order the program number, feature number, and quantity to extend coverage for your software licenses. If maintenance has expired, specify the after license feature number.
The following agreements apply for maintenance and do not require customer signatures:

Money-Back Guarantee: If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program, return it within 30 days from the invoice date, to the party (either IBM or its reseller) from whom you acquired it, for a refund. This applies only to your first acquisition of the program.
Software Maintenance, previously referred to as Subscription and Technical Support, is now included in the Passport Advantage Agreement. Installation and technical support for the products announced in this letter are provided by the Software Maintenance offering of the IBM IPLA. This fee service enhances customer productivity by providing voice and/or electronic access into the IBM support organizations.
IBM includes Software Maintenance with each program acquired during the coverage period. The coverage period means the period commencing on the date you acquire the program up to the first or second anniversary date, depending on whether you acquired coverage for one or two anniversaries. The coverage period for Software Maintenance acquired in the two months preceding an anniversary date will be extended to the next applicable anniversary date.
While your Software Maintenance is in effect: IBM provides you assistance for your routine, short duration installation and usage (how-to) questions; and code-related questions. IBM provides assistance via telephone and, if available, electronic access, only to your information systems (IS) technical support personnel during the normal business hours (published prime shift hours) of your IBM support center. This assistance is not available to your end users. IBM provides Severity 1 assistance 24 hours a day, every day of the year. For additional details, consult your IBM Software Support Guide at:
Software Maintenance does not include assistance for the design and development of applications, your use of programs in other than their specified operating environment, or failures caused by products for which IBM is not responsible under this agreement.

All distributed software licenses include Software Maintenance (software subscription and technical support) for a period of 12 months from the date of acquisition providing a streamlined way to acquire IBM software and assure technical support coverage for all licenses. Extending coverage for a total of three years from date of acquisition may be elected.
