Overview

The IBM Information Management System meets the demands of today's evolving e-business marketplace in database and transaction processing by delivering integrity, capability, and performance that you expect from IBM.

The IMS™ Database Manager (IMS DB) and IMS Transaction Manager (IMS TM) are enhanced in IMS V8 to help you:

  • Transform the way you do business
  • Build e-business applications that tolerate the rigors of business on the Internet
  • Run a scalable, available, safe environment
  • Leverage what you learn, and mine your information to make better decisions

IMS Workload Router now supports IMS V8, in addition to IMS V6 and V7, and can help you improve management of this new system environment.

The IMS Workload Router works with IMS TM to provide transparent routing or balancing of a transaction workload among two or more IBM systems through Multiple Systems Coupling. This makes IMS Workload Router adaptable to a variety of system configurations.
