Use of components on separate machines . WebSphere Business Integration V4.1 composite component consists of several run-time elements:

Combinations of these run-time elements must be installed on up to three registered machines at any one time under the terms and conditions of the WebSphere Business Integration V4.1 license. It is the use of the WebSphere Business Integration V4.1 that determines how Capacity Unit (CU) requirements are calculated. If the WebSphere Business Integration V4.1 is required on multiple servers, additional CUs for each server will be required. Calculations must be made using the appropriate type of processor for the operating system in use.
The customer must identify the machines on which they will install WebSphere Business Integration V4.1. The customer or program provider must identify the number or processors in each machine and then calculate the total number of licenses required.
Problem determination (PD) is a customer responsibility. PD is an assessment of whether a problem is caused by hardware or software. PD is complete only when the cause of the problem is identified. This assessment includes examination of available symptoms using the PD procedures documented in the product.
Problem source identification (PSI) is a customer responsibility. PSI begins when software is determined to be the source of the problem. PSI includes tracing the source of the program to a host system control program (SCP), an application program, or another source. Assisting the customer with PSI is an IBM service and support responsibility.

This program when downloaded from a Web site, contains the applicable IBM license agreement, and License Information (LI) for the individual products, if appropriate and will be presented for acceptance at the time of installation of the program. The license and LI will be stored in a directory such as LICENSE.TXT for future reference.
The LI for WebSphere Business Integration V4.1 is only available hardcopy

Security, Auditability, and Control
The announced program uses the security and auditability features of the operating system.
The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities.
The license structure is based on CU. The number of CUs required is based on the number of symmetrical multiprocessors installed in the largest server machine per the following table.

The licensee may install and use all the program products and components included in the program media package only as part of a WebSphere Business Integration business solution. The licensee is entitled to install WebSphere Business Integration on up to three server machines. CUs must be purchased for the server machine with the most symmetrical multiprocessor units (SMPs). This machine is known as the reference server. Other machines, if used, are called associated servers. The licensee may install any combination of components of WebSphere Business Integration on the reference server. The licensee may install other components of WebSphere Business Integration, not installed on the reference server, on an associated server without additional charge. No component product may be installed on more than one server machine (reference server or associated server), except where stated below.

Passport Advantage Ordering Information
Software maintenance (defined as Software Subscription and Technical Support) is included with all licenses for a period of 12 months from the date of acquisition, providing a streamlined way to stay current and assure technical support coverage for all licenses. You can elect to extend coverage for a total of two years from the date of acquisition. Software maintenance also provides access to current/future software versions/releases, and technical support during the support period.
There is automatic notification of software maintenance renewal at the end of your coverage period.

Terms and Conditions
Licensing: IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA). Proofs of Entitlement are required for all authorized use. Part number products only, offered outside of Passport Advantage, where applicable, are license-only and do not include software maintenance.
This software license includes software maintenance, previously referred to as Software Subscription and Technical Support.
Money-Back Guarantee: If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program, return it within 30 days from the invoice date to the party (either IBM or its reseller) from whom you acquired it for a refund. This applies only to your first acquisition of the program.
The program includes portions of DB2 UDB. You are authorized to install and use one copy of these components only in association with your licensed use of WebSphere Business Integration V4.1 and its component products for the storage and management of administrative, configuration, and operational data used and generated by the program, and not for other data management purposes. For example, this license does not include inbound connections to the database from other applications for queries or report generation. You are authorized to install and use these components on one of the servers on which WebSphere Integration is licensed.
Software maintenance, previously referred to as Subscription and Technical Support, is now included in the Passport Advantage Agreement. Installation and technical support for the products announced in this letter is provided by the software maintenance offering of the IPLA. This fee service enhances customer productivity by providing voice and electronic access into the IBM support organizations.
IBM includes software maintenance with each program acquired during the coverage period. Coverage period means the period commencing on the date you acquire the program up to the first or second anniversary date, depending on whether you acquired coverage for one or two anniversaries. The coverage period for software maintenance, acquired in the two months preceding an anniversary date, will be extended to the next applicable anniversary date.
While your software maintenance is in effect: IBM provides you assistance for your (1) routine, short duration installation and usage (how-to) questions; and (2) code-related questions. IBM provides assistance via telephone and, if available, electronic access, only to your information systems technical support personnel during the normal business hours (published prime shift hours) of your IBM support center. (This assistance is not available to your end users.). IBM provides Severity 1 assistance 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Consult your IBM Software Support Guide at:
Software maintenance does not include assistance for (1) the design and development of applications, (2) your use of programs in other than their specified operating environment or (3) failures caused by products for which IBM is not responsible under this agreement.
