Security, Auditability, and ControlIt is recommended that a data security facility is used with WebSphere Data Interchange for Multiplatforms V3.1. The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities. Ordering InformationWebSphere Data Interchange for Multiplatforms V3.1 has a Charge Unit called a Capacity Unit. Multiple Capacity Units will need to be purchased depending on the applicable processor group WebSphere Data Interchange for Multiplatforms V3.1 has been installed on.
For example: If the customer has 2 servers in Tier 2 and 2 servers in Tier 3, the total number of Capacity Units required = 24 (2x4 plus 2x8). A Capacity Unit Calculator is also available at: Media PackagesFor this program, the Program License Charge Unit is based on the number of processors by server. Capacity Units are available in units of one, and are required for every machine on which the WebSphere Data Interchange for Multiplatforms V3.1 is installed. The program includes the WebSphere Data Interchange for Multiplatforms V3.1 Client, which may be used either on the same processor as that on which the program's server code is running, or on no more that one other Intel-based machine. No separate server authorizations are required to license any other component part of the media package. The number of Capacity Units required for use of the program on any machine is based on the number of symmetrical multiprocessors (SMP) in the machine, as per the following table: Capacity Unit Exhibit VUE004: WebSphere Data Interchange Processor Group List

Note: Intel machines include compatible processors such as Cyrix and AMD. Where a server has the ability separately to partition or subset its SMPs in such a way that it is necessary to run multiple copies of the operating system in each subset, the number of charge units or use authorizations required will be based on the above tiering, and each partition or subset will need to be separately licensed. No other restriction of use of SMPs qualifies for any reduced capacity unit requirement. Users should retain their original product and Capacity Units as Proof of Entitlement (PoE).
