DB2 Warehouse Manager Connectors

DB2 Warehouse Manager Connectors, a new business intelligence offering, extend your capabilities to manage your data resources.

DB2 Warehouse Manager Connector for i2 TradeMatrix BPI allows you to:
- Import changes to the metadata of a deployed Business Process Intelligence (BPI) business model.
- Update the BPI distributed datamart and an OLAP cube for the deployed business model.
DB2 Warehouse Manager Connector for SAP R/3 allows you to access and bring SAP business objects stored in SAP R/3 systems into your DB2 data warehouse. It exploits predefined SAP BAPIs and provides an easy-to-use interface for selecting, modeling, and extracting data from SAP R/3. The focus of this offering of the DB2 Warehouse Manager Connector for SAP R/3 is ease-of-use extraction of modest amounts of SAP R/3 data.
Note: For large extractions or delta extractions, it is recommended that other techniques, such as custom ABAP routines or SAP IDOCs, also be considered.
DB2 Warehouse Manager Connector for the Web allows you to extract data from a WebSphere™ Site Analyzer (WSA) database, or webmart, into a data warehouse.

Data Management Enhancements

Sequence Support — gives you a number generator through a new type of database object called a SEQUENCE to support porting from non-DB2 DBMSs that support sequence numbering.
On Demand Log Archiving — allows you to close and archive the active log of a recoverable database whenever you want, and use these log files to update a standby database.
Incremental Backup — allows you to do interim backups that capture database changes since the last successful Full backup.
Backup from Split Image — provides the ability for users of the suspend I/O functionality to perform offline database backups on the split (mirrored) copy of the database.
Dual Logging — mirrors the active log files, which help database administrators to perform database recovery, to protect databases from:
- Accidental deletion of an active log
- Data corruption caused by hardware failure
Moving Compiled SQL Procedures — provides a method of distributing compiled SQL procedures without requiring re-compilation of the procedure on each target database server. This eliminates the requirement of installing C or C++ compilers on machines to compile and link each of the stored procedures during the installation process.
Statement-Level Isolation Levels — allow you to define isolation levels at the statement level for better granularity and improved performance and concurrency, when preparing or binding an application.
Encrypting and Decrypting String Data — provides a set of new encryption and decryption built-in functions with a key strength of 128 bits.
Linux 2.4 kernel exploitation — support for raw devices to increase performance and support for files greater than 2 GB.
Veritas Cluster Support for Solaris
DB2 Version 7.2 has delivered support for Veritas Cluster on Solaris for High Availability.

New Assist Wizards

DB2 UDB Version 7.2 delivers:

A new MQ-Assist wizard, which creates a table function that reads from an MQSeries queue using the MQSeries user-defined functions. The wizard also allows you to create a view on top of the table function and to preview an MQSeries message and the table function result.
A new OLE DB Assist wizard, which helps you to create a table function that reads data from another database provider that supports the Microsoft OLE DB standard. You can optionally create a DB2 table with the data that is read by the OLE DB table function, and you can create a view for the OLE DB table function.

Wrappers

Relational Connect provides wrappers that make it easy to access data on different DBMSs (federated systems). Version 7.2 enhances the Relational Connect feature with the following new wrappers:

Oracle wrapper for Solaris and Linux
Sybase wrapper for AIX^® and Solaris
Microsoft SQL Server wrapper on AIX and Windows NT™

Supported DBMSs include Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server for Windows NT, and members of the DB2 UDB family, such as DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS, DB2 UDB for AS/400^®, and DB2 UDB for Windows. DB2 UDB continues to support the Oracle wrapper on AIX and Windows NT.

DB2 Connect Web Starter Kit

This Starter Kit is essentially the same as the DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition except for the terms, conditions, and duration of the license, which is limited to nine months. This kit provides a low cost entry for customers who want to start a pilot project with access to DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS or DB2 Server for VSE and VM host servers and be able to have the same capabilities that a Connect Unlimited Edition product will provide.

This product should be considered for projects that require a proof of concept or a pilot implementation of a Web-based application that may not be ready to justify licensing of the DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition product. The nine-month license period provides unlimited access to DB2 Connect technologies and gives ample time for evaluation and proof of concept projects. At the end of the nine-month license period, this product should be upgraded to DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition with appropriate MSU entitlement purchased or you can purchase Connect Enterprise Edition using Registered Users licensing.

DB2 Universal Developer's Edition

To help developers to implement a BI test environment and to reduce the cost of acquiring full production licenses, DB2 Universal Developer's Edition now also includes the following features:

DB2 Warehouse Manager
DB2 Data Links Manager
DB2 Net Search Extender
DB2 Relational Connect
DB2 Spatial Extender

With the developer's license, you can set up your test environment and do your development and evaluation at relatively low cost. These add-on features will augment and expand the capabilities of the already included DB2 UDB and DB2 Connect products.

DB2 UDB Text Information Extender

DB2 UDB Text Information Extender provides a new way to search text documents using an SQL query. It extends the DB2 search capabilities by allowing a high-performance search on DB2 columns containing text. The text-search-specific extensions are based on the SQL/MM standard and allow for seamless integration into an SQL full select. Supporting HTML and XML formats, it combines the power of a fast text search engine with the intelligent strategies of the DB2 Optimizer.

DB2 UDB Text Information Extender delivers what today's information-oriented marketplace requires: An easy-to-use and highly integrated way to search documents in your database, or external documents using DB2 Data Links Manager. For more information, visit:

DB2 Life Sciences Data Connect

IBM DB2 Life Sciences Data Connect is a database middleware system that allows you to work with a virtual database, whose underlying data can be stored in multiple life sciences industry (biotechnology) data sources. Using DB2 Life Sciences Data Connect, you run a single query against the virtual database, and are able to make connections that you might not otherwise find by querying each data source individually.

DB2 Life Sciences Data Connect enables you to query heterogeneous life sciences data sources through DB2 — taking advantage of DB2's query optimization features. The first data source associated with DB2 Life Sciences Data Connect is table-structured files. In future releases, IBM plans to expand the reach of DB2 Life Sciences Data Connect to enable query of other life sciences data sources. DB2 Life Sciences Data Connect is a software component of the IBM DiscoveryLink offering along with:

Relational Connect — for connection to relational data sources, such as Oracle.
DB2 — for query optimization and integration of results across multiple heterogeneous data sources.

Hardware and services tailored to the needs of Life Sciences professionals are also provided as part of the IBM DiscoveryLink offering.

DB2 Warehouse Manager Sourcing Agent for OS/390

DB2 Warehouse Manager has been enhanced to provide more flexibility for sourcing DB2 for OS/390 data destined for workstation warehouses. A warehouse agent will source data from OS/390 and move them over to DB2 Intel/UNIX^® platforms for customers who are building a warehouse. This eliminates the need of moving the data off the S/390^® before performing any transformations. For more information about the Sourcing Agent for OS/390, refer to the description of the DB2 Warehouse Manager for OS/390 Software Announcement 201-054 , dated March 6, 2001.

DB2 Intelligent Miner Scoring

DB2 Intelligent Miner Scoring is an economical and easy-to-use mining deployment capability. It enables users to incorporate mining analytics into business intelligence, e-commerce, and OLTP applications.

Evolve DB2 UDB to incorporate data mining analytics

DB2 Intelligent Miner Scoring is a core offering of the IBM Business Intelligence Solution strategy. It is a companion product to DB2 Intelligent Miner for Data Version 6 Release 1 and exploits and extends DB2 UDB capabilities. For more information, refer to Software Announcement 201-069 , dated March 20, 2001.

Statement of Direction

IBM will not be releasing a DB2 UDB Satellite Edition Version 7. In the next version of DB2 UDB:

The function of DB2 UDB Satellite Edition will be merged into DB2 UDB Personal Edition.
The Generalize Replication Subscription function of the Satellite Administration Center will be deprecated (refer to the Function to be Deprecated in the Next Version of DB2 UDB section for additional details).

Customers can continue to use DB2 UDB Satellite Edition Version 6 or can deploy DB2 UDB Personal Edition Version 7, which is now supported by satellite administration.

To support customers who continue to use Satellite Edition Version 6, the service end date of DB2 UDB Satellite Edition Version 6 will be extended from December 31, 2001, to December 31, 2002.

All information being released represents IBM's current intent, is subject to change or withdrawal, and represents only goals and objectives.

Function to be Deprecated in the Next Version of DB2 UDB

The Generalize Replication Subscription function of the Satellite Administration Center.
Generalize Replication Subscription is used to simplify the set up of replication subscriptions for the satellites in a group. This function reverse engineers the replication setup for the model satellite so that this setup can be executed by all the satellites in a group.
Removing support for IPX/SPX as a DB2 client-server communications protocol.
Removing support for SUNLINK SNA because SUN has announced EOL for SUNLINK SNA.
The db2alert.log (alerts) facility will be replaced by the administration notification log (admin notify log).

More Data Management Enhancements

Named Pipe Support for Backup and Restore Operations — adds support for named pipes as a target for DB2^® Backup and as a source for DB2 Restore on UNIX^®-based systems.
Larger Index Key — allows columns with a length greater than 255 bytes to be specified as part of an index key. This increases the usefulness of an index key.
Windows™ 2000 Address Windowing Extensions (AWE) — allocate buffer pools that use up to 64 GB of memory through the use of the Microsoft™ Windows Address Windowing Extensions (AWE) API.
Unicode Enhancements
- Casting between data types has been extended for Unicode databases.
- A new set of functions as well as new C and SQL data types have been provided for DB2 CLI Unicode applications.
- New CLI configuration keywords have been added to avoid extra overhead when Unicode applications connect to a database.
MQSeries^® Integration — provides a basic set of functions for integrating MQSeries messaging operations within SQL statements. These functions support a variety of messaging models, including simple, one-way messages, request/reply, and publish/subscribe. Using these basic functions, it is possible to support a wide range of applications, ranging from simple event notification to operational data store creation.

Data Warehouse Center Enhancements

Target Table
Now, the Data Warehouse Center creates automatically the new columns in the target table and maps the results of the warehouse step to these new columns when you change the step to create additional columns. You can also choose the name and table space for the target table.
Name and Address Cleansing Support
The Data Warehouse Center expands its role as a tool integration hub for data quality and cleansing tools by adding support for Trillium Software System. You can now include name and address cleansing operations in warehouse processes, which can be scheduled or run on demand.
Microsoft OLE DB and Data Transaction Services Support (DTS)
You can now access data from an OLE DB provider as a DB2 database view. A Wizard is provided to create a DB2 OLE DB table function and the DB2 view through which you can access the data.
Since you can access DTS packages as OLE DB sources, the wizard also allows you to create the view for a DTS package. When you access the view at run time, the DTS package executes and the target table of the DTS package is exposed as the created view.
MQSeries Message Queues
You can now access data from an MQSeries message queue as a DB2 database view. A Wizard is provided to create a DB2 table function and the DB2 view through which you can access the data.
In addition, MQSeries messages, which are XML documents, can be accessed as a warehouse source. Using the Data Warehouse Center, you can import metadata about XML documents from an MQSeries queue and a DB2 XML Extender Document Access Definition (DAD) file. The Data Warehouse Center uses this metadata to create the warehouse target definition and the warehouse step to retrieve the XML documents from the queue automatically.
Mandatory Fields
Borders have been added to mandatory fields such as database names, user IDs, or passwords that are necessary to define Data Warehouse Center objects. When you enter the required information, the borders disappear.

QMF for Windows

QMF™ for Windows is now integrated with Query Patroller and QMF queries can now be submitted to Query Patroller to take advantage of its additional capabilities. QMF for Windows Version 7.1f (or later) will be included with DB2 UDB Version 7.2.

DB2 Warehouse Manager Sourcing Agent for OS/390

The following is Value Unit Ordering Information.

Value Units: Value units are derived from the capacity (MSU) of the processors for which a product will be installed. Capacity for a given product can be aggregated for a customer. Additional capacity takes into consideration the number of value units a customer already has installed. Value units of a given product cannot be exchanged/interchanged/aggregated with value units of another product. Value units for a specified MSU capacity are determined by the following table. Value units are constant. Prices will vary depending on the product selected.

Value unit pricing is a new pricing model and is designed to provide a price curve consistent with Parallel Sysplex^® License Charge (PSLC) price model providing improved price performance as hardware capacity and workloads grow.

This additional capacity of 200 MSUs costs 40 value units as opposed to example 1 where the initial 200 MSUs would cost 76 value units.

IBM Program License Agreement (IPLA) and Subscription and Support: IPLA licenses can be transferred. Proof of Entitlement (PoE) is based on the value units purchased. Subscription and Support is recommended to provide customers with the level of service expected with S/390 and z/OS program products. Subscription and Support must cover the same capacity as the IPLA entitlement.

Enhancements, Price Changes, and Subscription and Support: When additional and enhanced functions become available with a new version or release of a product, the price of the base product may increase to reflect the additional value. Customers who have purchased Subscription and Support will get the new version or release at no additional cost. Additional capacity is purchased at the new price using value units. Subscription and Support, if purchased for the product, must be purchased for the additional capacity using value units as well.

DB2 Intelligent Miner Scoring

DB2 Intelligent Miner™ Scoring Version 7.1 provides DB2 Extenders^® for AIX^®, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Sun Solaris, Linux, and Linux/390 servers. Transparently, customers can use DB2 DataJoiner^® to provide access to a wide range of non-DB2 data sources. Customers can also benefit from DB2 parallel processing for scoring large volumes of data. Version 7.1 also provides an Oracle cartridge implementation for Windows NT and Windows 2000 servers, and staged support for AIX, and Sun Solaris (via PTFs).

Compatibility: DB2 Clients for Version 5.2 will continue to operate without modifications with DB2 UDB Version 7 products.

DB2 Version 7 products support connection to DB2 Version 6.1 Servers. DB2 Clients for Version 7 will operate without modifications with DB2 UDB Version 6.1 Server products.

Limitations

License Limitations: The following license limitations exist with the DB2 Version 7.2 products:

DB2 Connect Web Starter Kit has the same features as the DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition except that it will completely stop working nine months after you install it, unless customers elect to upgrade to DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition or to purchase Connect Enterprise Edition using Registered Users licensing.
MQSeries is included as a complimentary product and has a restricted use license.
The Program includes portions of MQSeries. You are authorized to install and use these components only in association with your licensed use of the DB2 UDB for queuing and messaging with DB2 and DB2 applications. For example, this license does not include inbound connections to MQSeries from non-DB2 applications for queuing and messaging. You are authorized to install and use these components only with and on the same machine as the DB2 UDB.

Planning Information

Licensing Information: The licensing information of the following products has either been updated or is new to Version 7.2.

DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition: DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition licensing is extended to cover VSE/VM customers by including the connection to one DB2 Server for VSE and VM database server in addition to one DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS, which was previously announced. Entitlement for 1 MSU is also included. Charges for this program are based on the total MSU capacity of the attached DB2 Server for VSE and VM host system. DB2 Connect use-based charges for MSUs apply to any single DB2 Server for VSE and VM database server that users will be connecting to.

Where the host system is part of a sysplex, MSUs are based on the DB2 entitlements of the entire sysplex.

DB2 Connect Enterprise Edition: For customers using DB2 Connect Enterprise Edition, user access on connections made from Internet and/or intranet must be based on the number of registered users. If determining the number of registering users is not possible, then unlimited Web and user access is available by purchasing DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition.

Connections made to DB2 Connect Enterprise Edition through other products that act as connection concentrators must be counted as DB2 Connect users and are subject to use-based charges based on the number of registered users or numbers of users connected.

DB2 UDB Enterprise Edition and Enterprise — Extended Edition: DB2 UDB Enterprise Edition and Enterprise — Extended Edition contain DB2 Connect component to provide connectivity to DB2 for MVS/ESA™, DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS, DB2 Server for VSE and VM, and DB2 UDB for AS/400 database servers. The products are licensed for one user using this DB2 Connect component at any point in time. If additional users need to connect to any of the above mentioned database servers, additional DB2 Connect User Licenses must be purchased.

Either of the following DB2 Connect Use-based Charges for defined users applies to any single server installation of this product:

Users Logged On

Use-based Charges for Users Logged On are not applicable when connections to this product are made through the Internet and/or intranet. When using DB2 Connect component of this product to support applications that use Web-based technologies and rely on connections made from Internet and/or intranet, use-based charges must be based on the number of registered users. If determining the number of registering users is not possible or not practical, DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition product should be used as it provides Unlimited User/Web access option.

Connections made to the DB2 Connect component of this product through other products that act as connection concentrators must be counted as DB2 Connect users and are subject to use-based charges as either registered users or users logged on.

DB2 UDB Workgroup Edition and DB2 UDB Workgroup Unlimited Edition: DB2 UDB Workgroup Edition or DB2 UDB Workgroup Unlimited Edition license does not permit creating 64-bit instances on servers where the products are installed.

DB2 Warehouse Manager Connectors: DB2 Warehouse Manager Connector for i2 TradeMatrix BPI, DB2 Warehouse Manager Connector for SAP R/3, and DB2 Warehouse Manager Connector for the Web are optional chargeable features of DB2 Warehouse Manager Version 7.2. Use authorization of each option is required and must be acquired separately. The entitlement of each Warehouse Manager Connector is per install per processor and customers are responsible for acquiring the correct option for the Connector they want to install and use.

DB2 Connect Web Starter Kit: DB2 Connect Web Starter Kit allows customers to install Connect Personal Edition or Connect Enterprise Edition, which shipped with the Web Starter kit, on any number of computers and used to provide connectivity to a single DB2 for MVS/ESA, DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS, or DB2 Server for VSE and VM database server. The product is licensed for a period of nine months. The license period starts on the date of installation of any of the components provided as part of this product. This product is licensed specifically for pilot and proof of concept projects that involve extensive use of Web-based application technologies. It should not be used in production environments where use of the product will be required after the termination of the license term (nine months). This product should not be licensed again after the completion of the license term. At the end of the license period, this product must be upgraded to DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition or usage of any components installed as part of this product will be discontinued. When upgrading to DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition, a separate license with appropriate MSU entitlement must be purchased for every DB2 for MVS/ESA, DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS, or DB2 Server for VSE and VM database server. You can also elect to purchase Connect Enterprise Edition using Registered Users licensing.

DB2 Relational Connect: For each server DB2 Relational Connect is installed on, a license for each data source per server to which it connects must be purchased.

Complimentary Products: IBM provides licensed copies of complimentary products in our product boxes. The Complimentary Products can not be upgraded through the originally ordered product. They can only be upgraded separately as individual products. If a fully licensed product is required, contact IBM or your reseller. DB2 Warehouse Manager Sourcing Agent for OS/390: This product is licensed under the IPLA, and the associated Agreement for Acquisition of Support, and the Addendum for Support (Z125-6336) that provides for support with ongoing access to releases and versions of the program. This program has a one-time license charge for use of the program and an ongoing recurring charge for the enhanced support that includes telephone assistance (voice support for defects during normal business hours) as well as access to updates, releases, and versions of the program as long as support is in effect. S/390 SupportLine is an option for those customers who desire added services.

The combined effect of the IPLA license, the Agreement for Acquisition of Support, and the Addendum for Support gives customers rights and support services comparable to those under the traditional ICA S/390 license or its equivalent. To ensure that your customers continue to enjoy the level of support they are used to in the ICA business model, you must order both the license for the product and the support for the selected programs.

Pricing for DB2 UDB Enterprise Edition and DB2 Connect for Linux on S/390 and zSeries: Pricing for DB2 on Linux/390 is consistent with the corresponding workstation platform products as follows:

DB2 Connect Unlimited per Host Server, per MSU

Note: DB2 Connect Personal Edition and DB2 Connect Enterprise Edition are not being offered on Linux/390.

Licensing Terms and Conditions

DB2 Enterprise Edition is priced per engine to the Linux capacity of the box. Consistent with Workstation products, we will price to a subset of the engines on a box where we can limit EE's access to remaining engines in an enforced fashion.

Modes of executing Linux applications where we will price to a subset of engines:

Where customer has purchased additional processor capacity under the Integrated Facility for Linux (IFL). Linux workspace enabled under IFL is exclusively for Linux workload, and will not support any of the S/390 traditional operating systems.

Modes of executing Linux applications where we will charge for all engines:

Running Linux natively
Running Linux under VM
Running Linux within a S/390 logical partition (LPAR) without IFL for Linux

Security, Auditability, and Control

DB2 UDB uses the security and auditability feature of the host software: Password protection.

The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities.

Metric Descriptions

Users
- They can be counted as either concurrent user or registered user.
  A concurrent user is a person, application, or device that has established a connection to one or more databases on one server. A user with multiple connections to a single server counts as only one concurrent user. The one exception is where multiple connections are made by a multiplexing program, application server, other program, or Web connection that connects to DB2 providing access on behalf of other users. When this exception occurs in a DB2 Connect or DB2 Workgroup Edition environment, users cannot be counted properly so customers must purchase the Connect Unlimited Edition, or Internet Processor license of the Workgroup Edition for Web connection.
  A registered user is a person, application or device entitled to establish one or more connections to any authorized server install of a DB2 UDB or DB2 Connect product in the customer's enterprise, either directly or through a multiplexing program or application server.
Processors
- Each CPU available to the installed software must have a separate entitlement.
Host User Connections
- Each person, or user, making a connection to a host computer system must have a separate entitlement. When concentrating software is used through the Internet, the users of that concentration software must each be counted as users.
Installs
- Each installation of the program must have a separate entitlement.
Internet Processors
- Each processor available to the installed DB2 code, which is providing access to the Internet or intranet, must have separate entitlement.
Other Data Source Server
- Each server that houses a portion of the accessed other data source must have a separate 'other data source' server entitlement.
Host Servers
- A host server must be obtained for each independent server being connected to with DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition. If the server is part of a sysplex (connected OS/390 servers), only one host server entitlement is required. If multiple host servers, or multiple sysplexes are used, then each host server must be obtained for each host server (or sysplex).
MSUs (or Millions of Service Units)
- An MSU entitlement must be obtained for each MSU on the DB2 host system. When this option is used, the customer need not count users of the DB2 Connect product. Only one server install is required for each customer utilizing the MSU licensing.
Value Units
Value units are derived from the capacity (MSU) of the processors for which a product will be installed. Capacity for a given product can be aggregated for a customer. Additional capacity takes into consideration the number of value units a customer already has installed. Value units of a given product cannot be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with value units of another product.

To order, specify the support program number and feature number 9001 for asset registration. Specify the annual support charge feature number with the desired quantity represented by the sum of MSUs of the designated machines.

Once subscription and support is ordered, the charges will renew automatically annually unless cancelled by the customer.

Note: Regarding price proposals, the CFSW configurator stand-alone path for all products will be updated on June 5, 2001.

For all products, media is only shipped via Customized Offerings (ServerPac, Systempac^® and CBPDO). CFSW configuration and order entry capability will commence with CBPDO on June 5, 2001.

For CBPDO orders, shipments will begin one week after planned availability. S/390 products have to be ordered via CBPDO.

Alternate Ordering for DB2 UDB and DB2 Connect Products

Below are feature numbers to be used when ordering through the IBM BTO process. DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition licensing is extended to cover VSE/VM customers by including the connection to one DB2 Server for VSE and VM database server or one DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS. Entitlement for 1 MSU is also included. Where the host system is part of a sysplex, MSUs are based on the DB2 entitlements of the entire sysplex. DB2 Connect use-based charges for MSUs apply to any single DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS, or DB2 Server for VSE and VM database server to which users will be connecting to.

For customers using DB2 Connect Enterprise Edition, user access on connections made from Internet and/or intranet must be based on the number of registered users. If determining the number of registering users is not possible, then unlimited Web and user access is available by purchasing DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition.

DB2 UDB Enterprise Edition and Enterprise — Extended Edition contain DB2 Connect component to provide connectivity to DB2 for MVS/ESA, DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS, DB2 Server for VSE and VM, and DB2 UDB for AS/400 database servers. The products are licensed for one user using this connection at any point in time. If additional users need to connect to any of the above mentioned database servers, additional DB2 Connect User Licenses must be purchased.

DB2 UDB Workgroup Edition or DB2 UDB Workgroup Unlimited Edition license does not permit creating 64-bit instances on servers where the products are installed.

DB2 Warehouse Manager Connector for i2 TradeMatrix BPI, DB2 Warehouse Manager Connector for SAP R/3, and DB2 Warehouse Manager Connector for the Web are optional chargeable features of DB2 Warehouse Manager Version 7.2. Use authorization of each option is required and must be acquired separately. The entitlement of each Warehouse Manager Connector is per install per processor and customers are responsible for acquiring the correct option for the Connector they want to install and use.

DB2 Connect Web Starter Kit allows customers to install Connect Personal Edition or Connect Enterprise Edition, which shipped with the Web Starter kit, on any number of computers and used to provide connectivity to a single DB2 for MVS/ESA, DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS, or DB2 Server for VSE and VM database server. The product is licensed for a period of nine months. The license period starts on the date of installation of any of the components provided as part of this product. This product is licensed specifically for pilot and proof-of-concept projects that involve extensive use of Web-based application technologies. It should not be used in production environments where use of the product will be required after the termination of the license term (nine months). This product should not be licensed again after the completion of the license term. Instead, an upgrade to DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition will be required to continue using programs provided as part of this product. At the end of the license period, this product must be upgraded to DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition or usage of any components installed as part of this product will be discontinued. When upgrading to DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition, a separate license with appropriate MSU entitlement must be purchased for every DB2 for MVS/ESA, DB2 UDB Server for OS/390 and z/OS, or DB2 Server for VSE and VM database server. You can also elect to purchase Connect Enterprise Edition using Registered Users licensing.

DB2 Warehouse Manager Sourcing Agent for OS/390 requires customers to have already purchased DB2 Warehouse Manager and that the agent only be used to source data from the DB2 servers running on the system to which it is licensed.
