OverviewDB2® is built to support the fastest growing e-business segments. DB2 increases its commitment to e-business with more Linux® offerings, and simplified packaging on Windows. Simplified Packaging For customers who want only the Windows operating environment, this is the product. It delivers the same functions as the one announced on April 18, 2000, but in simplified and direct packaging. The offering is in English only. For more information, refer to Software Announcements 200-089 , and 200-091 . More Linux Leverage DB2 Universal Database® (UDB) and DB2 Connect® are now available on Linux for S/390®. Customers who want to take advantage of the Linux environment will be able to access their legacy data on S/390 through DB2 Connect and deploy new applications on Linux. By blending the data richness of the S/390 with the Web capability of DB2, you can deliver a highly integrated e-business solution. Today, we also announce the support of Enterprise Extended Edition for Linux. With this announcement, DB2 server products now all support Linux and continue to commit to be the most scalable database on Linux, supporting desktop systems to mainframe. First-Time Russian Offering As a continuous commitment to support National Languages packaging, Workgroup Edition, and Workgroup Unlimited Edition mark the first offering for DB2 in Russian. This is in addition to other languages already supported. DB2 for e-business CEO bundle To support our small, medium, and large customers, take advantage of simple per-user pricing and licensing offered with the DB2 for e-business Complete Enterprise Option (CEO) bundle. The CEO bundle requires a minimum of 500 individual users, and includes a one-year subscription for all the IBM products included in the offering. A second year subscription is also available.
