Open, yet secure...MQSeries Integrator cross-platform middleware is scalable and manageable. Span the divide between business processes and provide consistent information within and between enterprises. For ordering, contact: Your IBM representative, an IBM Business Partner, or IBM Americas Call Centers at 800-IBM-CALL (Reference: YE001). OverviewMQSeries® Family The Internet continues to reach more and more households. Companies want to implement e-business rapidly. MQSeries messaging is a simple way to couple systems together and to allow Internet users controlled access to legacy data, such as their account transactions. Business integration across many applications is also a common element of successful implementation. MQSeries Integrator V2.0 has the tools to add value outside the message queuing paradigm to include application connectors and application collaboration. MQSeries Integrator, V2 MQSeries Integrator V2.0 is central to the MQSeries portfolio. It helps you to create, deploy, and control message-based business solutions:
MQSeries Integrator V2.0 provides a rich range of tools, GUIs, message dictionaries, and enables third-party plug-ins. It supports XML, an emerging Internet standard. XML lets documents contain structured information, such as words, pictures, or sounds; or specific pieces of tagged information, such as delivery dates or zip codes. Version 2 is an evolutionary step forward from MQSeries Integrator V1, and contains all of the V1 functionality. The new publish/subscribe function is compatible with the existing MQSeries V5 publish/subscribe offering. The product is already available on the Windows NT platform, and includes the corresponding MQSeries base product necessary for its operation. Now integration opportunities are advanced significantly with availability on the Sun Solaris and AIX platform. Note that the tools run on Microsoft Windows NT; only the Message Broker and User Name Server run on the Sun Solaris or AIX platforms. Details of MQSeries Integrator for Windows NT, V2.0 remain unchanged. Also, ordering details for MQSeries Integrator for AIX, V2.0 remain unchanged. Refer to Software Announcements 299-149 , dated June 15, 1999, 299-350 , dated November 23, 1999, and 200-070 , dated April 4, 2000, for further information on additions to the MQSeries family. August 25, 2000 DescriptionMQSeries IntegratorEnhanced MQSeries Integrator technology extends V2 to the Sun Solaris and AIX platforms, in addition to the Windows NT platform already available. MQSeries Integrator is a cross-platform middleware service -- a powerful message broker -- that manages:
The MQSeries Integrator V2 product is also upward compatible with the rules and formatter capability of V1. Within the new enhancements is a new architecture based on the concept of a "processor node." A library of function for these nodes is provided by IBM, but you can add function. Additionally, the V2 product has close synergy with relational database technology for message augmentation, warehousing, and message flow tools. Dynamic publish/subscribe offers the full level of MQSeries integrity. The advanced message format dictionary and manipulation tools support multiple formats including XML, plug-ins, and third-party dictionaries and formats. MQSeries Integrator V2.0 uses MQSeries to carry messages. It simplifies the complexity of connections between applications by establishing a hub through which:
Operations on messages include:
Reformatting works dynamically with the rules component to parse, map, and reformat messages by using on-the-fly conversions and transformations.
Message formats can be self-defining using XML, or defined using an
IBM-provided format repository or third-party message dictionaries.
Predefined templates mean MQSeries Integrator V2.0 can exchange
information with major packaged applications.
Features of MQSeries Integrator
Benefits of MQSeries Integrator
AMI V1.0 is available from the MQSeries Web site. The AMI is a new high-level MQSeries API for use with MQSeries messaging and MQSeries Integrator V2.0. It enables the development of applications that are unaware of the transport method in use. The current version of the AMI is being updated to generate MQRFH headers for publish/subscribe understood by MQSeries Integrator V2.0 so the AMI publish/subscribe APIs are available. MQSeries Integrator V2.0 includes a full licence for MQSeries and the functionality of MQSeries Integrator Version 1, on the corresponding platform.

Transaction Processing SupportPacsThe IBM Transaction Processing SupportPacs library consists of material that complements the family of MQSeries products marketed by IBM. Each SupportPac(TM) supplies a particular function or service that can be used with one or more of the MQSeries products. The Transaction Processing SupportPacs library is available on the Internet at URL: Year 2000This product is Year 2000 ready. When used in accordance with its associated documentation, it is capable of correctly processing, providing, and/or receiving date data within and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, provided that all products (for example, hardware, software, and firmware) used with the product properly exchange accurate date data with it. The service end date for this Year-2000-ready product is December 31, 2002. Product PositioningIndustry trends and business drivers, such as e-business and supply chain integration, drive your need to link and extend existing and new business systems rapidly. The MQSeries Message Broker strategy and product family represents IBM's response to this market need. A part of the MQSeries Integrator V2.0 initiative addresses business and application integration by helping you manage information flow with:
System connectivity is typically enhanced into application integration by developers who write code to capture, evaluate, translate, and reformat data from source applications to a format understood by destination applications. MQSeries Integrator V1, already available on this platform, is a toolkit that greatly simplified the burden of creating mutual understanding between source and receiving applications. Additionally, the rules engine can test the content of messages and modify flow including rerouting, creating additional messages, or similar business automation activities. Compare MQSeries Integrator V2.0 to V1:
Advantages of MQSeries Integrator, V2:
Positioning with WebSphere(TM) Transcoding Publisher
MQSeries Integrator and WebSphere Transcoding Publisher can work together to extend your business-to-business integration to new environments such as pervasive devices. For example, MQSeries Integrator could be used alongside WebSphere Transcoding Publisher to deal directly with HTML-based pages that needed both reformatting and routing.
