Two new product releases offer enhancements to help manage DB2® database environments:
- DB2 Optimization Expert for z/OS®, V1.2 (5655-S19) supports monitoring and tuning of SQL statements that run as part of a workload on your DB2 for z/OS subsystem.
- DB2 Query Monitor for z/OS, V2.3 (5697-I03) gives you the ability to efficiently customize and tune your structured query language (SQL) workload and DB2 objects.
All DB2 for z/OS tools are now referenced-based to both the previously announced versions of DB2 for z/OS and DB2 for z/OS Value Unit Edition. Refer to 208-041 , dated February 26, 2008, for more information about the DB2 for z/OS Value Unit Edition product or talk to your IBM representative.

DB2 Optimization Expert for z/OS, V1.2 (5655-S19) introduces support for DB2 for z/OS, V8 and provides the ability to capture a workload across a data-sharing group. Many rules have been added to the advisors, and new user-specified "what-if" and table-based priority options have been added to the Index Advisor. Users can now extract queries directly from SQL Stored Procedures. Both experienced DBAs and application programmers will find DB2 Optimization Expert V1.2 easy to use and customize with powerful new filters, views, and search options. Enhancements include:
- DB2 for z/OS, V8 support: DB2 for z/OS, V8 Compatibility Mode (CM) DB2 for z/OS, V8 New Function Mode (NFM)

Extended ability to capture queries:
- Retrieve queries from SQL procedures
- Retrieve queries from plans or packages based on tables, views, and indexes dependencies
- New predefined view types for AVG_CPU_DESC and AVG_ELAP_DESC
- New dynamic statement cache search options
- A new stored procedure to extract queries from dynamic statement cache to support users without SYSADM authority

Extended ability to capture, export, and import workloads:
- Users can capture workloads from the cache and create monitor profiles across an entire data-sharing group.
- Users can export a workload from one DB2 subsystem and import to another DB2 subsystem.
- Users can customize filters for object, access path, or cost-based searches.
- Service Workload: A new component collects DDL statements, statistics, and EXPLAIN information for query workloads.

Powerful new Index Advisor capabilities and options:
- Users can specify their own virtual indexes to perform a "what-if" analysis for single queries.
- The workload-based index advisor evaluates all existing indexes and indicates whether each index is chosen by optimizer.
- Users can specify table priorities to indicate the importance of different tables.
- Users can configure benefit thresholds for query weight groups, suppress the index recommendations for less important queries, and see index recommendations for only the more important queries.
- Users can disable the index recommendation on user-specified tables.
- Show runtime information (Elapsed time, CPU time, and so on) for the related queries of each recommended index.
- Users can drill down into the related queries for each recommended index by launching query-based advisors and tools.
- The relative performance improvement in percentage is now shown for each recommended index and each related query.

New Statistics Advisor report, rules, and options:
- New options are added in RUNSTATS recommendations, including SORTDEVT, SORTNUM, and REPORT.
- A report similar to the query report can be generated for the statistics information for queries in a workload, including tables, indexes, columns, and column groups.
- Users can search and set filters on the workload statistics explanations.
- Conflicts in the conflict report are grouped by related tables.
- A new conflict rule is added. When the maximum frequency of a column or a column group is less than the reciprocal of its cardinality, it is considered as a conflict and recommended to recollect statistics.
- New parameters are provided for controlling the percentage of columns or column groups on which to collect statistics.
- Users can check the updated statistics report of the workload after the RUNSTATS recommendations are executed for any remaining problematic statistics, such as missing and conflicting statistics.

New Query Advisor rules:
- A new Cartesian join analysis rule provides warnings and rewrite recommendations when tables have no join predicates to other tables in the query.
- A new Join key analysis rule provides warnings and query rewrite recommendations when an inner join has a data type mismatch or nullability mismatch on the joining columns.
- A new Ambiguous cursor analysis rule provides warnings and query rewrite recommendations when an ambiguous cursor is opened on a read-only or update-only query.
- A new outer-join to parent table analysis rule provides warnings and query rewrite recommendations when an outer join occurs with a child table as the outer table and the parent table as the inner table of join, which matches an inner join.
- A new NOT IN predicate analysis rule provides warnings and recommendations when there is a NOT IN (noncorrelated sub query) in the SQL while sparse index cannot be applied.
- Users can specify the severity levels for the rules.
- Execution count, accumulated elapsed time, accumulated CPU time, average elapsed time, and average CPU time are included.
- Show runtime information (Elapsed time, CPU time, and so on) for each query.
- Users can drill down into each query by launching query-based advisors and tools.

New Access Path Advisor rules:
- New Cartesian join rule: A form of nested loop join without join predicates between the two tables.
- New relational scan rule: Whether the access method for a table is a relational scan. A relational scan is generally not the best access method if the number of qualified rows from the table is small while the table is large, or the relational scan is used to access the inner table in a nested loop join.
- New non-matching index scan rule: No matching columns are in the index. Hence, all the index keys must be examined.
- New RID pool usage rule: Used by multiple index scan and list prefetch.
- New individual sort rule: Whether a sort operation is used. Sort can be used for join processing, group by, order by, duplicate removal, and subquery processing. You can design queries and indexes to avoid some sorts.
DB2 Query Monitor for z/OS, V2.3 (5697-I03) enables you to tune SQL workload and DB2 objects efficiently to ensure the effectiveness of your DB2 subsystems. DB2 Query Monitor's enterprise deployment capability enables you to leverage the additional functionality provided by the open systems architecture and provides the information necessary to accurately assess and manage SQL workload.
This release includes the following enhancements:
- Recursion in ISPF summary reporting gives you the ability to drill down into prior selections while navigating within the summary displays. A new KEYMAP command shows the navigation path you have selected. An almost anywhere to anywhere selection path within summaries is provided. Many prior navigational restrictions have been removed; for example, you may drill down from SQL text to other selections like plan and program.
- Interval Midnight allows you to align intervals so the first interval of each day starts at the midnight hour.
- Summary Caching decreases DB2 Query Monitor's memory footprint by removing unreferenced summary totals and writing them to the summary backstore data sets prior to interval expiration.
- Reliability, availability, and serviceability improvements have been made.
- Co-existence for the Audit SQL Collector in DB2 Audit Management Expert for z/OS, V2.1 and DB2 Query Monitor for z/OS, V2.3 is supported on the same DB2 subsystem.
- ISPF numbering options on ISPF panels have been changed from letters to numbers.
- The Consolidation and Analysis Engine (CAE) Agent now uses significantly less memory and CPU time, because it no longer requires the use of Java™ or HFS on the mainframe. Instead, the CAE Agent is a non-Java address space running under z/OS, using no HFS facilities.
- DB2 Query Monitor has discontinued use of its dataspace memory in lieu of shared memory objects. This results in an increase in performance of collection of the SQL metrics data.
- Extended navigation from SQL text displays allows you to drill down from SQLText summaries to see how a particular SQL statement has been used.
- In the CAE Client, you can view the TopN distinct SQL summaries for most metric fields, including those metric fields used only on detail panels; for example, RIDLIST failures.
- SQL text handling in the CAE alert/action system is improved. The CAE now has the ability to include static SQL in an action and allows for integration of the CAE Client with z/OS batch applications such as SQLPA.

Value Unit-based pricing
Value Unit pricing for eligible IBM System z™ IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA) programs enables a lower cost of incremental growth and enterprise aggregation. Each System z IPLA product with Value Unit pricing has a single price per Value Unit and a conversion matrix, called Value Unit Exhibit, for converting from some designated measurement to Value Units. Most commonly, Millions of Service Units (MSUs) is the measurement designated by IBM to be converted to Value Units. Some other measurements are engines or messages. Since MSUs are the most common measurement, that measurement will be used for the remainder of this description.
Value Unit pricing offers price benefits for you. For each System z IPLA program with Value Unit pricing, the quantity of that program needed to satisfy applicable IBM terms and conditions is referred to as the required license capacity. Each of the various Value Unit Exhibits stipulate that the larger your required license capacity, the fewer Value Units per MSU you will need. Value Unit Exhibits are uniquely identified by a three-digit code and referred to using the nomenclature VUExxx, where xxx is the three-digit code.
Subsequent acquisitions of Value Unit priced programs offer additional price benefits. The quantity of each System z IPLA program that you have acquired is referred to as entitled license capacity. If you wish to grow your entitled license capacity for a System z IPLA program, the calculation to determine additional needed Value Units is based upon the number of Value Units already acquired.
For each System z IPLA program with Value Unit pricing, you should:
- Determine the required license capacity, in MSUs
- Aggregate the MSUs across the enterprise
- Convert the total MSUs to Value Units, using the applicable Value Unit Exhibit
- Multiply the price per Value Unit by the total number of Value Units to determine the total cost

The most current maintenance of Java™ 1.5 (31 bit), including all prerequisites, must be installed
on your S/390 system, if you wish to run the Consolidation and Analysis Engine (CAE) Server under

- If you are upgrading from DB2 Query Monitor for z/OS, V2.2, then the CAE Agent address space no longer uses a Java Virtual Machine. It runs under z/OS, not USS.

DB2 Query Monitor's Visual Explain integration supports DB2 Universal
Database® for z/OS Visual Explain, V8.1.4, or later. You must have
Visual Explain installed and verify that your system environment property
DB2TEMPDIR is pointing to DB2 Connect installation path, which by default
is C:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\). You must also verify that IVE_DIR
points to the Visual Explain installation path, which by default is
C:\Program Files\Visual Explain.
- The Explain button in the Query Monitor CAE Client will only be visible when Visual Explain is installed and the system environment properties are properly set.
- You are not required to configure Visual Explain to communicate with the database in question.

DB2 Query Monitor supports:
- DB2 Performance Expert for z/OS, V2,1 (5655-J49) PTF UQ88096 (APAR PQ86611) with Performance Expert (PE) client of level L1036, or later versions. Only PE client level L1157 (PTF UK02213), or later, will support PE Thread Details. If you have a PE client at a lower level than L1157, then the PE Thread Details will not be shown as a menu choice.
- DB2 SQL Performance Analyzer for z/OS, V2.1 (5655-I22), or later.

To receive voice technical support via telephone and future releases and versions at no additional charge, Subscription and Support must be ordered. The capacity of Subscription and Support (Value Units) must be the same as the capacity ordered for the product licenses.
To order, specify the Subscription and Support program number (PID) referenced above and the appropriate license or charge option.
IBM is also providing Subscription and Support for these products via a separately purchased offering under the terms of the IBM International Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance (IAASM). This offering:
- Includes and extends the support services provided in the base support to include technical support via telephone.
- Entitles you to future releases and versions, at no additional charge. Note that you are not entitled to new products.
When Subscription and Support is ordered, the charges will automatically renew annually unless cancelled by you.
The combined effect of the IPLA license and the Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance gives you rights and support services comparable to those under the traditional ICA S/390 and System z license or its equivalent. To ensure that you continue to enjoy the level of support you are used to in the ICA business model, you must order both the license for the program and the support for the selected programs at the same Value Unit quantities.
Single version charging: To elect single version charging, you must notify and identify to IBM the prior program and replacement program, and the machine the programs are operating on.

Once a product becomes generally available, it will be included in the next ServerPac and SystemPac monthly update.
Production of software product orders will begin on the planned general availability date.

The information provided in this announcement letter is for reference and convenience purposes only. The terms and conditions that govern any transaction with IBM are contained in the applicable contract documents such as the IBM International Program License Agreement, IBM International Passport Advantage® Agreement, and the IBM Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance.
Licensing: IBM International Program License Agreement including the License Information document and Proof of Entitlement (PoE) govern your use of the program. PoEs are required for all authorized use.
Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance: The following agreement applies for maintenance and does not require customer signatures:

These programs are licensed under the IBM Program License Agreement (IPLA) and the associated Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance, which provide for support with ongoing access to releases and versions of the program. IBM includes one year of Software Maintenance with the initial license acquisition of each program acquired. The initial period of Software Maintenance can be extended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available. These programs have a one-time license charge for use of the program and an annual renewable charge for the enhanced support that includes telephone assistance (voice support for defects during normal business hours), as well as access to updates, releases, and versions of the program as long as support is in effect.
S/390 and System z IBM Operational Support Services — SoftwareXcel is an option if you desire added services.

Limited warranty: IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible for the results obtained from the use of the program.
IBM provides you with access to IBM databases containing information on known program defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no additional charge. For further information, consult the IBM Software Support Handbook found at
IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee acquires the program (warranty period).
Program support: Enhanced support, called Subscription and Support, includes telephone assistance, as well as access to updates, releases, and versions of the program as long as support is in effect. You will be notified of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice.
Money-back guarantee: If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.
For clarification, note that for programs acquired under any of IBM's On/Off Capacity on Demand (On/Off CoD) software offerings, this term does not apply since these offerings apply to programs already acquired and in use by you.
Authorization for use on home/portable computer: You may not copy and use this program on another computer without paying additional license fees.

Sub-capacity terms and conditions
For each System z IPLA program with Value Unit pricing, the quantity of that program needed to satisfy applicable IBM terms and conditions is referred to as the required license capacity. Your required license capacity is based upon the following factors:
- The System z IPLA program you select
- The applicable Value Unit Exhibit
- The applicable terms
- Whether your current mainframes are full capacity or sub-capacity
For more information on the Value Unit Exhibit for the System z IPLA program you selected, refer to the Ordering information section.
Full-capacity mainframes: In cases where full capacity is applicable, the following terms apply.
Execution based, z/OS based, full machine based: The required capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the MSU-rated capacity of the machines where the System z IPLA program executes.

Reference based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the license capacity of the applicable monthly license charge (MLC) program. This MLC program is called the parent program.
Sub-capacity mainframes: In cases where sub-capacity is applicable, the following terms apply.
Execution based: The required capacity of a System z IPLA sub-capacity program with these terms equals the capacity of the LPARs where the System z IPLA program executes.
z/OS based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the license capacity of z/OS (and z/OS.e) on the machines where the System z IPLA program executes.
Reference based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the license capacity of the applicable monthly license charge (MLC) program. This MLC program is called the parent program.
Full-machine based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with full-machine based terms equals the MSU-rated capacity of the machines where the System z IPLA program executes.

For additional information for products with reference-based terms, System z IPLA sub-capacity programs with reference-based terms adds value to the parent program across the environment, regardless of where in the environment the System z IPLA program executes.
An environment is defined as either a single or stand-alone machine or a qualified Parallel Sysplex®. You may have one or more different environments across the enterprise. To determine the required license capacity for each System z IPLA program with referenced-based terms, each environment should be assessed separately.
When a System z IPLA sub-capacity program with reference-based terms is used in a qualified Parallel Sysplex environment, the required license capacity of the System z IPLA program must equal with the license capacity of the parent program across the Parallel Sysplex. Qualified Parallel Sysplex refers to one:
- That meets the criteria defined in 198-001 , dated January 13, 1998
- Where MLC pricing is aggregated across the sysplex
Sub-capacity eligibility: To be eligible for sub-capacity charging on select System z IPLA programs, you must first implement and comply with all terms of either sub-capacity Workload License Charges (WLC) or sub-capacity Entry Workload License Charges (EWLC). To implement sub-capacity WLC or EWLC, a machine must be System z (or equivalent). On that machine:
- All instances of the OS/390® operating system must be migrated to the z/OS (or z/OS.e) operating systems
- Any licenses for the OS/390 operating system must be discontinued
- All instances of the z/OS operating (or z/OS.e) systems must be running in z/Architecture™ (64-bit) mode
For that machine, you must create and submit a Sub-Capacity Report to IBM each month. Sub-Capacity Reports must be generated using the Sub-Capacity Reporting Tool (SCRT). For additional information or to obtain a copy of SCRT, visit the System z Software Pricing Web site
You must comply with all of the terms of the WLC or EWLC offering, whichever is applicable:
- The complete terms and conditions of sub-capacity WLC are defined in the IBM Customer Agreement — Attachment for System z Workload License Charges (Z125-6516).
- The complete terms and conditions for sub-capacity EWLC are defined in the IBM Customer Agreement — Attachment for IBM eServer System z 890 and 800 License Charges (Z125-6587).
Additionally, you must sign and comply with the terms and conditions specified in the amendment to the IPLA contract — Amendment for IBM System z9™ and eServer zSeries Programs Sub-Capacity Pricing (Z125-6929). Once the amendment is signed, the terms in the amendment replace any and all previous System z IPLA sub-capacity terms and conditions.
Sub-capacity utilization determination
Sub-capacity utilization is determined based on the utilization of a sub-capacity eligible reference product and machine.

To be eligible for On/Off CoD pricing, you must be enabled for temporary capacity on the
corresponding hardware, and the required contract,
