    • IBM ThinkPad notebook computers have become an integral part of the business traveler's way of life. Whether traveling domestically or internationally, easy access to hardware repair service can help protect against prolonged periods of being unable to stay in contact with your business when you experience a hardware failure. IBM provides maintenance agreements to help protect your investment. With the new International Service Enhancement for IBM ThinkPad notebook computers, you can obtain service virtually worldwide:
      • International service applicable to the various hardware components of your IBM ThinkPad notebook computer. Depending on the IBM ThinkPad notebook computer model, some service parts may not be readily available in all countries. Service does not cover operating systems, software applications, accessories, supply items, and certain parts such as batteries, frames, and covers.
      • Service is available in all countries where the IBM ThinkPad notebook computer machine type (as designated by its 4-digit number) is sold by IBM and serviced by IBM Product Support Services.
      • Service will be provided at the service coverage level of the service contract if the country where service is requested provides that level of coverage. If the level of service coverage is not available in the country where service is requested, the base level of service for that machine will be provided. (For example, where customer purchases onsite service upgrade for a IBM ThinkPad notebook computer and the country where service is being requested also offers onsite service upgrade, the customer will receive onsite service. If the country where service is being requested does not offer onsite service, then the base level of warranty applies. Local Country Terms and Conditions may apply.)
      • Service provided at no additional charge.
      • Service is available during the IBM warranty service upgrade and maintenance agreement period.

The following requirements apply:

  • You must register your IBM ThinkPad notebook computer for this service.
