New software as a service (SaaS) options, purchased through Passport Advantage®, are now available alongside the existing licensed version of IBM WebSphere® Commerce. IBM Commerce on Cloud offers flexible deployment models to support businesses that are looking to jump-start and grow their online presence or to launch a new brand, channel, or geographic initiative. The offering brings together capabilities from across the IBM Smarter Commerce portfolio including IBM WebSphere Commerce, IBM Coremetrics Web Analytics, and IBM Sterling Order Management, as well as IBM Payment Systems. Features include prebuilt integration with IBM and third party solutions such as sales tax calculations, ratings, and reviews. It provides store templates and prebuilt integration to launch a complete e-commerce store in a shortened deployment time with minimal up-front investments along with powerful tools that allow business users to manage their site effectively without special technical skills.

Security, auditability, and control
IBM customer data is protected by a two-pronged security strategy comprising perimeter security practices and application level security, all driven by IBM data security requirements.
Perimeter practices ensure that security controls, system patching, monitoring, and alerting are uniformly implemented and maintained for all service offerings. These practices cover disaster recovery, regulatory compliance, operational risk assessment, and auditing procedures. Regular penetration testing and ethical hacking tests are performed.
