InfoSphere Change Data Capture V6.5.1, InfoSphere Change Data Delivery V6.5.1, and InfoSphere Change Data Delivery for Information Server V6.5.1 extend those capabilities to Sybase databases, Informix®, Microsoft SQL Server, and Teradata to help you continue to extend and improve low-latency data integration across heterogeneous environments. These advancements provide support for DB2 data partitioned sources, Data Definition Language (DDL) replication for Oracle-to-Oracle replication, extended metadata lineage and traceability, and a number of consumability improvements, including enhanced monitoring, debugging, and improved multibyte character set (MBCS) configuration. InfoSphere Change Data Capture V6.5.1 also helps you address the need for increasing data volumes by providing performance improvements while continuing to achieve and reduce the impact on mission-critical production systems.
InfoSphere Change Data Delivery V6.5.1 and InfoSphere Change Data Delivery for Information Server V6.5.1 offer rapid and timely delivery of data changes for InfoSphere data warehouses; InfoSphere DataStage extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes; InfoSphere QualityStage data quality processes; and InfoSphere master data management systems to help ensure that these systems have updated and more trustworthy data to enable you to make more informed business decisions.
InfoSphere Change Data Delivery V6.5.1 and InfoSphere Change Data Delivery for Information Server V6.5.1:
- Enhance new and existing investments in InfoSphere DataStage, InfoSphere QualityStage, InfoSphere Warehouse, and InfoSphere Master Data Management Server
- Integrate directly with InfoSphere DataStage, enabling low-latency ETL processes and event-driven data cleansing
- Help ensure that critical information is readily available to lines of business, thereby increasing visibility and productivity
InfoSphere Change Data Capture, InfoSphere Change Data Delivery, and InfoSphere Change Data Delivery for Information Server allow data to be captured from a database server on a remote machine from where the product is installed. This provides remote-based data capture with reference-based pricing, based on the Processor Value Unit (PVU) requirements of the system where the source database is located. The source database is what InfoSphere Change Data Capture captures data from. InfoSphere Change Data Capture, InfoSphere Change Data Delivery, and InfoSphere Change Data Delivery for Information Server do not run where the source database is installed.
InfoSphere Change Data Capture, InfoSphere Change Data Delivery, and InfoSphere Change Data Delivery for Information Server also allow data to be applied on a database server that is remote from where the product is installed. This provides remote-based data apply with reference-based pricing, based on the PVU requirements of the system where the target database is located. The target database is the database InfoSphere Change Data Capture applies data to. InfoSphere Change Data Capture, InfoSphere Change Data Delivery, and InfoSphere Change Data Delivery for Information Server do not run where the target database is installed.

Version 6.5.1 extends the capabilities delivered in Version 6.5. Version 6.5 offered:
- Enhanced capabilities, including replicating from or to Oracle databases; DB2 Linux, UNIX, and Microsoft Windows; and InfoSphere DataStage with InfoSphere Change Data Capture V6.5 and InfoSphere Change Data Delivery V6.5.
- An improved customer experience with enhanced monitoring and debugging capabilities. Monitoring statistics have been augmented to provide a comprehensive set of data that helps monitor the overall health of the replication environment. Quick, flexible access to the event log is essential to diagnose replication problems. Key changes include provisioning of a single view into events and a filtering capability to quickly drill down to events of interest.
- An improved MBCS configuration, including automatic mapping of encoding, improvements to derived column behavior, and encoding conversion for nondate, nonnumeric columns.
- Enhanced performance capabilities while maintaining low impact on critical production systems that help you ensure effective handling of increasing volumes of data to provide data integration at the pace of business. Selective refresh processing and reduced memory footprint capabilities are also included to help improve the overall efficiency.
- Extended database support, including support for Oracle 11Gr2 and Oracle compressed tables.
- Enhanced connectivity with InfoSphere DataStage to facilitate rapid delivery and transaction integrity.
In addition, Version 6.5.1 introduces the following new functionality:
- Extended capabilities: Version 6.5.1 extends the Version 6.5 enhanced monitoring and debugging capabilities, improved MBCS configuration, and enhanced performance capabilities to replication from or to Sybase databases, Informix, Microsoft SQL Server, and Teradata.
- Expanded scope of Oracle database support with DDL replication: The scope of changes, replicated from Oracle databases, has expanded. In addition to data changes, structural changes to database tables are now automatically replicated. For dynamic business environments with rapid changes in data requirements, database tables are often changed, created, or dropped. InfoSphere Change Data Capture V6.5.1 now recognizes and replicates these changes to help ensure minimal interruption to the business.
- Comprehensive support for large DB2 warehousing environments: Ongoing data changes or updates from large DB2 environments on Linux, UNIX, or Microsoft Windows, whether it is a partitioned DB2 database or InfoSphere Warehouse, can now be captured by InfoSphere Change Data Capture V6.5.1. This allows critical data changes from master repositories to be distributed at low-latency throughout the enterprise, and thereby providing more accurate, trusted information to the business.
- Increased metadata insight for deep data lineage and traceability of data changes: The comprehensive visibility into the source of a data change provides the valuable insight of "who did what when." InfoSphere Change Data Capture V6.5.1 has been extended to leverage InfoSphere Information Server's Metadata Server, which not only enables data traceability from the source to target but also serves as a base of common knowledge of the data to facilitate the understanding between business and IT.
InfoSphere Change Data Capture V6.5.1, InfoSphere Change Data Delivery V6.5.1, InfoSphere Change Data Delivery for Information Server V6.5.1, and InfoSphere Data Replication V10.1.1 can be deployed quickly using a graphical user interface.
Features offer:
- High performance: These change data capture products are designed to scale to high-volume replication environments with minimal performance impact on source databases. Using native, log-based change data capture, these products can handle increasing volumes of data to provide data integration at the pace of business.
- Log-based change data capture: Whether data is integrated periodically or in real time, only changed data is captured and transferred from source to target systems. Instead of performing queries directly against the database, InfoSphere Change Data Capture captures changed data directly from the database logs.
- Operational efficiency: These change data capture products help improve operational efficiency and save time and resources by eliminating redundant data transfer and saving network bandwidth. By accessing data from the logs, these products help reduce performance impact on mission-critical applications.
- Data integrity: Data delivery is accomplished by synchronizing positional information between the source and target. Transactional integrity is achieved by applying transactions on the target in the same order as on the source.
- Ease of use: An intuitive user interface helps lower total cost of ownership by consolidating configuration and monitoring of the replication environment.
- Zero programming: With zero programming required, you can invest your effort in higher-value IT projects. Your company can leverage its legacy systems and integrate data across all supported platforms with few changes to the existing environment. Future changes in the computing environment can also be accommodated to protect your company's investment.
- Programming-free data integration: These change data capture products offer out-of-the-box, programming-free data integration with DB2, Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, Teradata, and Informix Dynamic Server across various operating platforms.
- Data-enriched business events: These change data capture products facilitate integration with message queues to supply data-enriched business events to business applications.
- Enhanced data integration: These change data capture products support flat file integration to improve your ability to consolidate data across systems.

Processor Value Unit (PVU)
Processor Value Unit (PVU) is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. The number of PVU entitlements required is based on the processor technology (defined within the PVU Table by processor value, brand, type, and model number at the following website and the number of processors made available to the program.
IBM continues to define a processor, for the purpose of PVU-based licensing, to be each processor core on a chip. A dual-core processor chip, for example, has two processor cores.
Licensee can deploy the program using either Full Capacity licensing or Virtualization Capacity (Sub-Capacity) licensing according to the Passport Advantage Sub-Capacity Licensing Terms (see webpage below). If using Full Capacity licensing, Licensee must obtain PVU entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores1 in the physical hardware environment made available to or managed by the program, except for those servers from which the program has been permanently removed. If using Virtualization Capacity licensing, Licensee must obtain entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores made available to or managed by the program, as defined according to the Virtualization Capacity License Counting Rules at
- http://www.ibm.com/software/lotus/passportadvantage/Counting_Software_licenses_using_specific_virtualization_technologies.html
- 1
- An Activated processor core is a processor core that is available for use in a physical or virtual server, regardless of whether the capacity of the processor core can be or is limited through virtualization technologies, operating system commands, BIOS settings, or similar restrictions.
Notes:
- Some programs may require licenses for the program and what is being managed. In that case, the following applies: In addition to the entitlements required for the program directly, Licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for this program sufficient to cover the processor cores managed by the program.
- Some programs may be licensed on a managed basis only. In that case, the following applies: Instead of the entitlements required for the program directly, Licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for this program sufficient to cover the processor cores managed by the program.
- A few programs on an exception basis may be licensed on a referenced basis. In that case, the following applies: Rather than obtaining entitlements for the activated processor cores available to the program, Licensee must obtain PVU entitlements for this program sufficient to cover the environment made available to the referenced program as if the program itself were executing everywhere the referenced program was executing, independent of the basis on which the referenced program is licensed.
- Express and Workgroup programs may be licensed with maximum use terms. In that case, the following applies: The maximum authorized use terms and conditions for PVU licensed IBM Express and Middleware Programs can be found in the IBM Express and Middleware Licensing Guide.

Program technical support
Technical support of a program product version or release will be available for a minimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates (modifications or fixes), releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee.
Money-back guarantee
For clarification, note that if for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.
