Overview
Bottom rule

IBM Case Manager V5.0 unites information, process, and people to provide a 360-degree view of case information. Key to IBM Case Manager is case and knowledge worker empowerment capabilities you can use to extract critical information through integrated business rules, collaboration, and analytics -- enhancing decision making ability and helping you achieve more successful case outcomes.

IBM Case Manager V5.0 uniquely integrates content, process, and people (capabilities) to deliver the next generation of case management applications. IBM Case Manager V5.0 provides a foundation for capturing organizational best practices in templates and solutions to shorten the time-to-value. It also provides business-oriented tools for the development and deployment of these applications to assure business user participation and ownership of the case application. Leveraging modern Web 2.0 concepts, dynamic case-oriented applications can be assembled or reassembled from components, fostering reuse and providing quick delivery to the end user.

At the center of a case is the entity that initiated it - usually a customer or citizen - but it could be any business entity in any vertical industry. IBM Case Manager V5.0 supports all interactions through a customer-centric focus to collaborate and solve a specific business problem. IBM Case Manager V5.0 supports multiple information sources while at the same time supporting consistent, multi-channel output including correspondence, email, web, call center, and text.

Description
Bottom rule

IBM Case Manager V5.0 provides an extensible infrastructure so you can express case solutions to meet your specific vertical and horizontal requirements. Templates comprised of solution-specific elements such as data models, process models, user interface components, rule sets, and case configurations can be used to accelerate deployment. Business users can add their own template assets as well as create complete case management applications to meet specific industry and customer needs.

The analytics capabilities in IBM Case Manager V5.0 provide the tools to derive deep insight from all artifacts in a case including structured and unstructured information. This insight can provide both micro and macro optimization of case work. At a micro level, it can optimize how case workers execute their responsibility on a case or which cases an individual case worker prioritizes based on real-time information and key performance indicators (KPIs).

At the macro level, the analytic tools can look across the entire case load and help you understand patterns that will impact outcomes across the department. With this information, you can take proactive measures to improve performance such as reallocating work, involving more subject matter experts, enhancing the support information provided, and enhancing training.

IBM Case Manager V5.0 uniquely leverages important IBM technologies to deliver benefits required by knowledge workers and case business owners.

  • IBM Case Manager's core case infrastructure is based on IBM FileNet Business Process Manager V5.0, which includes unified content and process capabilities for case management as well as content integration and federation to other IBM Content Manager Enterprise Edition, IBM Content Manager OnDemand, and non-IBM repositories.
  • The full power of Lotus® collaboration and social networking capabilities such as real-time collaboration, secure team rooms, enterprise profiles, and managed activities enhance the case process and provide the case worker with the tools to leverage enterprise knowledge and experience. It also allows the case worker to interact with a case directly from their office productivity tools such as Microsoft® Office or IBM Lotus Symphony.
  • Rules can be authored and abstracted in IBM WebSphere ILOG jRules creating a powerful mechanism for implementing rule-based criteria in a case.
  • IBM Mashup Center is used to create very dynamic case applications bringing together disparate user interface components and data sources optimized for the role or the individual user. Electronic forms can be used to deliver forms-based components to the UI.
  • IBM Cognos Real-time Monitoring analytics provide spectrum real-time monitoring and dashboarding capabilities.
  • The ability to search, discover, and perform analytics on structured and unstructured case artifacts is provided. Possessing this ability empowers knowledge workers and management with text mining, trend analysis, and pattern detection and anomaly highlighting to make smarter case decisions.
  • Users have the ability to set retention policies, records policies, and decommissioning strategies, providing users with enhanced capabilities they can use to address formal regulatory compliance and legal discovery requirements.
  • Through IBM Case Manager, you have a variety of business process capabilities to support transaction, event management, or integration-centric requirements. Leveraging IBM WebSphere® Process Server, IBM WebSphere Business Events, and other related offerings allow IBM Case Manager to participate in scenarios where strong event management and integration is required. Sophisticated enterprises may choose to leverage both WebSphere Process Server and IBM FileNet P8 to cover the broad spectrum of their Business Process Manager (BPM)-related needs.
  • IBM Case Manager can leverage the IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) portfolio strategy for content integration and federation so that content from any source can be included in a case. In particular, content in SharePoint, Open Text LiveLink, or EMC Documentum, as well as many other sources, can be leveraged. IBM Case Manager V5.0 also benefits from the adoption of Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) as an industry standard for accessing content repositories.

Charge metrics definitions

User Value Unit (UVU)

UVU is the metric by which this program is licensed. UVU entitlements are based on the number of users for the given program. A Proof of Entitlement (PoE) must be obtained for the appropriate number of UVUs required for your environment as defined by the specific program terms. The UVU entitlements are specific to the program and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with UVU entitlements of another software program. UVU licensing offers you price benefits for customers by enabling a lower cost of incremental growth of resources. To understand these benefits of UVU licensing, and to determine how many UVUs to obtain for the program, contact your IBM representative.

IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible for the results obtained from the use of the program.

Program technical support

Technical support of a program product version or release will be available for a minimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates (modifications or fixes), releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee.

Money-back guarantee

For clarification, note that if for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.

For clarification, note that for programs acquired under the IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement, this term applies only to your first acquisition of the program.
