Statement of Intent: IBM® WebSphere® DataPower® and IBM z/OS® V1R11 logical integration
IBM WebSphere DataPower plans to add support in a future firmware release to optionally use z/OS to access encryption keys and digital certificates. The intent of this function will be to allow keys and certificates used by DataPower to be centrally stored and managed by z/OS.
WebSphere DataPower additionally plans to add support for logical integration of load balancing by supporting the z/OS Communications Server Sysplex Distributor to balance workload to DataPower appliances and to an associated second-tier z/OS application. The intent of this logical integration will be to significantly enhance the availability and quality of DataPower load-balancing decisions in z/OS environments.
Both of these planned logical integration functions are based on enhancements to the z/OS V1R11 Communications Server.
