Modification: IBM System i and no-charge IBM BladeCenter offering

The IBM® System i™ and no-charge IBM BladeCenter® offering has been modified retroactive to October 2, 2007.
The following changes are being made with this announcement:
- the minimum eligible new IBM System i transaction IBM Single Unit Purchase Price (SUPP) in Canada has been reduced.
- the information requested on the No-charge BladeCenter request form has been changed.
All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
This announcement supersedes Announcement Letter 307-578, dated October 2, 2007.
The offer
If you acquire an eligible new:
- IBM System i minimum configuration,
- selected model conversion to an eligible new IBM System i server, or
- Miscellaneous Equipment Specification (MES) upgrade for an existing IBM System i server
for which the transaction (single invoice) for the System i serial number has a total IBM Single Unit Purchase Price (SUPP) value of at least $150,000 USD ($150,000 CAD), you can receive an eligible new IBM BladeCenter configuration at no additional charge.
In order to qualify, the resulting System i server configuration must include a minimum of two PCI-X iSCSI connectors.
There is a limit of one no-charge IBM BladeCenter configuration per customer location (single building with a single mailing address).

Start and/or end dates
For purchase transactions, IBM invoices for the eligible System i products must have a date of on or after October 2, 2007.
For lease transactions, signed and accepted Leasing Certificates of Acceptance, or lease contracts with "Deemed Acceptance" for the eligible System i products must have a lease commencement date of on or after October 2, 2007.
No-charge BladeCenter request forms must be received by IBM no later than 2 months after the IBM invoice date or lease commencement date of the eligible new IBM System i minimum configuration, model conversion to an eligible new IBM System i server, or MES upgrade for an existing IBM System i server.

Additional information/conditions
The following are acceptable proofs of acquisition:
- a legible copy of the IBM invoice for the eligible new IBM System i minimum configuration, selected model conversion to an eligible new IBM System i server, or MES upgrade for an existing IBM System i server, or
- a legible copy of the signed and accepted Leasing Certificate of Acceptance or lease contract with "Deemed Acceptance" for the eligible model new IBM System i minimum configuration, selected model conversion to an eligible new IBM System i server, or MES upgrade for an existing IBM System i server which lists machine type, model, features, and quantities, From and To machine types, models, features, and quantities, if applicable, and serial number.
To receive the no-charge BladeCenter configuration, the completed and signed request form (see attached), along with the specified documentation, must be received by the IBM Redemption Center no later than two months after the IBM invoice date or lease commencement date of the eligible new IBM System i minimum configuration, selected model conversion to an eligible new IBM System i server, or MES upgrade for an existing IBM System i server.
In Canada, you are responsible for all applicable taxes such as Goods and Services Tax (GST), Provincial Sales Tax (PST), Quebec Sales Tax (QST), and other sales or value-added taxes which are extra.
IBM reserves the right to modify or withdraw this offering at any time.
This offering is subject to the terms and conditions of any applicable Agreements.
Can this offer be combined?
This offering cannot be combined with the IBM System i and System x™ iSCSI solution rebate offering.

The offer

Terms and conditions
- For hardware purchase transactions, invoices for the eligible System i
products must have a date of on or after October 2, 2007.
For hardware lease transactions, signed and accepted Leasing Certificates of Acceptance, or lease contracts with "Deemed Acceptance" for the eligible System i products must have a lease commencement date of on or after October 2, 2007.
- As proof of acquisition, send copies of invoices or leasing documents
to the IBM Redemption Center at the address listed below.
- Invoices and leasing documents must be either typewritten or computer generated and itemized to include machine type, model, features and quantities; From and To machine type, model, features and quantities, if applicable; and serial number. Handwritten or altered documents will not be accepted.
- The name and company appearing on this form must match the information provided on the invoice or leasing document.
- To qualify for the no-charge BladeCenter configuration, this signed form,
along with requested documentation, must be received within two months of
the invoice date or lease commencement date of the eligible new System i minimum
configuration, selected model conversion to an eligible new System i server,
or MES upgrade for an existing System i server:

- The IBM Redemption Center will confirm receipt of your request. Retain a copy of this confirmation as proof of timely submission of your request. If you do not receive this confirmation within one week of submission or you need to communicate with the IBM Redemption Center, send an e-mail and reference the "IBM System i and no-charge IBM BladeCenter offering" in the subject line.
- Any request forms lost or misdirected by the Postal Service or other delivery service are not the responsibility of IBM or the IBM Redemption Center.
- Allow eight to ten weeks from the time IBM receives your complete and accurate documentation for your no-charge BladeCenter configuration to arrive.
- This offering is void wherever prohibited or restricted by law.
- IBM reserves the right to modify or withdraw this offering at any time.
