IBM ILOG Inventory and Product Flow Analyst helps find the hidden drivers so that companies can prioritize improvement opportunities based on overall inventory impact. Global inventory optimization strategically positions raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory throughout the supply chain to improve inventory turns, free up working capital, and increase cash flows.
IBM ILOG Inventory and Product Flow Analyst is a web-based, enterprise-inventory-optimization solution that helps manufacturers, retailers, and distributors manage their inventory from end-to-end. It handles both inbound/outbound and distribution-focused business models, helping companies answer a broad range of business questions, from determining the right inventory policies and strategic positioning of inventory to the ongoing setting of safety stocks and inventory levels in operational environments. Integral to an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, it allows inventory planners to determine how much inventory should be kept in stock for each product on an ongoing basis.
Highlights of this new release include:
- Simulation capability: Inventory planners can now analyze inventory and service level performance against simulated customer demands.
- More powerful Multi-Echelon optimization: Inventory and supply chain planners can now optimize total inventory costs based on variable committed service times or variable upstream service levels.
- Forecast error and supplier performance analysis: Inventory and supply chain planners can now analyze forecast error and take into account forecast bias in the inventory optimization process. They can also measure supplier performance with an automated calculation of lead time variability and receipt period.
- Ease-of-use enhancements: Enable inventory planners to perform their tasks more effectively.

IBM ILOG Inventory and Product Flow Analyst is an integrated solution for supply chain and inventory optimization that enables both strategic and tactical planning. It includes different optimization modules that you can use to address specific supply chain problems. Modules use a common database so users can quickly move from one module to another. Built-in integration capabilities make it possible to connect to other systems, such as your ERP or Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) system. The modules include:
- ILOG Inventory Analyst. This module helps find the true and hidden drivers of inventory (such as forecast error, lead times, lot size and so on), so that companies can prioritize improvement opportunities based on overall inventory impact. It strategically positions raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory throughout the supply chain to improve inventory turns and increase cash flows.
- ILOG Product Flow Optimization. The Product Optimization module helps businesses analyze transportation, warehousing, inventory-carrying costs, and service requirements to determine the optimal product delivery paths. Companies can view and export solution alternatives to tables and graphs for presentations and further analysis.
- ILOG Demand Profiler. This module analyzes historical data to create a demand forecast and forecast error. The combination of these modules provide:
- Enterprise multi-echelon inventory optimization for integrated inventory planning in an existing ERP system.
- Strategic multi-echelon inventory optimization to determine strategic shifts in inventory policies and practices.

IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified portion of the program. Program technical support
Technical support of a program product version or release will be available for a minimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates (modifications or fixes), releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM , including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee.
