Vantage for IBM® Connections V1.0 and Vantage for IBM Sametime® V1.0 enable security and policy management controls, beyond the native IBM implementations, that are designed to help social organizations remain compliant with key regulatory and corporate governance requirements.

Vantage, provided by Actiance, an IBM Business Partner, is the industry-leading security, management, and compliance solution for unified communications and collaboration platforms. Through tight integration with IBM Connections and IBM Sametime, Vantage delivers granular security, reporting logging, and archiving controls for content posted within IBM Connections and IBM Sametime environments.

Vantage for IBM Connections captures and reports social conversations, posts, comments, and files that have been shared between IBM Connections users for eDiscovery purposes. Vantage for IBM Sametime enables real-time management, reporting, and security alerts augmenting IBM Sametime's native functionality. It enables granular policy setting, ethical walls, message hygiene, malware prevention, and content archiving for eDiscovery purposes as well.

Wikis, blogs, forums, microblogs, and other features of IBM Connections are designed to help employees interact quickly and effectively by locating the right people at the right time, giving them a revolutionary way to identify internal and external topic experts, share knowledge, and take action on priority tasks.

IBM Sametime provides a real-time, cost-effective business communication tool for instant synchronous actions across your extended organization internally and externally. Through instant chat, web, video and voice conferencing capabilities, IBM Sametime can help reduce travel expenses while increasing productivity, and improving the overall collaboration experience with customers, colleagues, and partners around the world.

These combined capabilities and the new options they present to employees to communicate with each other can potentially pose a risk when it comes to safeguarding confidential information or simply making conversations discoverable when needed for regulatory and litigation purposes.

Vantage for IBM Connections V1.0 monitors and captures conversations, posts, comments, and files that have been shared between IBM Connections users. Vantage for IBM Sametime V1.0 extends and augments IBM Sametime's native functionality by enabling granular policy setting, message hygiene, anti-virus and malware prevention for federated environments, as well as real-time reporting and archiving.

Vantage for IBM Sametime and IBM Connections provides a compliance solution that is up-to-date on the dynamic and interactive communication channels a social business leverages. No matter how small or out-of-context a remark or comment might be, every post can be captured and put into the larger context of a holistic compliance solution for the social business.

Technical Skills Software Workshop

No-fee technical skills training workshops (English only) for this product are offered to customers and business partners to gain hands-on skills for installing, configuring, operating, and supporting this product. The workshops are ideal for customers and business partners who are in the process of evaluating, or have already purchased it. Workshops are modeled to be 50% to 70% hands-on labs and are continually updated to current product release.

Workshops are delivered in multiple formats, traditional classroom, self-paced (self-study) and instructor led e-learning, all formats have the same content.

Traditional classroom workshops are scheduled and delivered in-person worldwide at IBM and non-IBM locations throughout the year.

Self-paced/self-study workshops enable the student to view the workshop presentations and execute the labs on their own schedule with no travel required. The presentations have speaker notes and allow the student full control to navigate the information. Students reserve a one week period to run the labs on a remote, supported, live environment. Support is provided through a monitored forum.

Early knowledge about potential problems enables IBM to deliver proactive service that may result in higher system availability and performance. In addition, information collected through the Service Agent is made available to IBM service support representatives when they help answer your questions or diagnose problems. Installation and use of IBM Electronic Service Agent for problem reporting enables IBM to provide better support and service for your IBM server.
