WebSphere DataPower firmware V5.0 adds the following new features and enhancements:
- Enhanced processing power with extended memory support, allowing large message processing on XG45, XI52, XI50B, and XB62
- Extended security capabilities to Web 2.0 and mobile applications with support for OAuth 2.0
- Enhanced centralized service governance and service level agreement (SLA) management with support for automatic policy synchronization and enforcement between WebSphere DataPower appliances and WebSphere Services Registry and Repository
- Enhanced service level monitoring with support for accurate peering, multiple SLM actions within a processing policy, output enhancement, and dynamic update support
- Application optimization with enhanced load balancing and intelligent load distribution across multiple appliances on XG45 (requires Option for Application Optimization)
- Support for B2B transaction visibility using SOAP (XB60 and XB62 only)
- Enhanced B2B Transaction Viewer resend capabilities (XB60 and XB62 only)
WebSphere Appliance Management Center for WebSphere Appliances is available at no charge, along with defect correction entitlement for those licensed users entitled to service for supported WebSphere DataPower SOA appliances.
WebSphere Appliance Management Center for WebSphere Appliances delivers the following:
- Helps improve administrator productivity and reduce time to benefit with a streamlined user interface, task flow, and a simplified, smaller and faster installation
- Helps increase management flexibility and reduce impact to production systems with support for appliances and domains in multiple groups; adds the ability to manage configuration of individual services on WebSphere DataPower SOA appliances
- Includes the IBM® Tivoli® Composite Application Manager (ITCAM) Agent for WebSphere DataPower Appliance, enabling you to monitor WebSphere DataPower SOA appliances
- Adds firmware management and monitoring support for WebSphere DataPower SOA appliances
- Some methods for performing tasks currently available in WebSphere Appliance Management Center 4.0 are not available in this WebSphere Appliance Management Center for WebSphere Appliances. A TechNote describing alternative ways to achieve the tasks will be published when WebSphere Appliance Management Center is available.
