IBM® intends to update and extend the PureApplication® capabilities for incorporating application modernization to support the deployment of both cloud-enabled and cloud-native workloads. PureApplication intends to update PureApplication appliance offerings with hardware refreshes and next-generation appliances. PureApplication intends to provide these additional features and performance enhancements to satisfy the requirements for IBM integrated modernization solutions.

  • IBM intends to deliver IBM Multicloud Management for multiple clouds as a pattern for PureApplication. The Multicloud Management pattern will provide management of multiple clouds as a seamless and single experience. Clients entitled to Multicloud Management will be able to deploy the pattern to leverage Cloud Automation Manager and complement application modernization with PureApplication.
  • IBM intends to deliver IBM Cloud™ Automation Manager workload provisioning capability as a pattern for PureApplication. IBM PureApplication will entitle Cloud Automation Manager for usage with the pattern. The Cloud Automation Manager pattern will enable the provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of Cloud Automation Manager. With Cloud Automation Manager, PureApplication can be incorporated into multicloud environments as part of the digital transformation of workload infrastructure.
  • IBM intends to deliver Red Hat OpenShift container platform capability as a pattern for PureApplication. Red Hat OpenShift will provide management tooling for Docker and Kubernetes, and will complement the ability of PureApplication to support both cloud-enabled and cloud-native workloads. Clients entitled to Red Hat OpenShift will be able to deploy the pattern to extend the existing Red Hat Enterprise Linux® capability within PureApplication.
  • IBM intends to deliver refreshed hardware for PureApplication Platform W3500 and W3550 appliances and the next generation of integrated appliances for PureApplication. The refreshed hardware and new appliances will strengthen the performance and capabilities of application modernization for PureApplication.
