Description
Bottom rule

To help organizations achieve faster results, IBM has packaged the knowledge from years of experience with information projects in the industry into the IBM Telecommunications Data Warehouse. These data models deliver industry expertise and regulatory best practices in a form usable by both business and IT, enabling IT to implement projects more quickly. The result can be faster time to value, fulfilled expectations, and reduced project risk.

The data models include interrelated business glossaries and enterprise data warehouse and reporting requirements models. The data models can be leveraged with InfoSphere Information Server, InfoSphere Warehouse, and InfoSphere Master Data Management Server.

Key components of the models:

  • Business Terms component is an enterprise-wide vocabulary of business concepts that gives an organization a view of itself and its industry.
  • Business Data Model is a conceptual-level data model that specifies the third normal form data structures required to represent the concepts defined in the Business Terms.
  • Atomic Warehouse Model is a design level data model that represents the enterprise-wide repository of atomic data used for informational processing.
  • Dimensional Warehouse Model is the enterprise-wide repository for analytical data. It contains star schema style dimensional data structures organized around fact entities that support the analytical requirements.
  • Business Solution Templates is a spreadsheet of all of the potential analytical business requirements that could be addressed by this offering.

Architectural elements of the models:

  • Data models define database structures necessary to provide management with analytical reports that contain key performance indicators for the business and deliver necessary prebuilt statutory and regulatory reporting templates. The data models also provide a glossary of terms and concepts that can be clearly understood and communicated by business and IT, thereby helping to accelerate project scoping, appropriate reports, data quality and data requirements, and identification of sources of data.

Model management can be accomplished using a number of alternatives, including a combination of industry model-specific repositories and support for IBM and third-party tools (for example, InfoSphere Data Architect, InfoSphere Business Glossary, CA ERWin).

Charge metrics definitions

Resource Value Unit (RVU)

Resource Value Unit (RVU) is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. RVU Proofs of Entitlement are based on the number of units of a specific resource used or managed by the program. Licensee must obtain sufficient entitlements for the number of RVUs required for Licensee's environment for the specific resources as specified in the table below. RVU entitlements are specific to the program and the type of resource and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with RVU entitlements of another program or resource.

General charge terms

The Resource for the purposes of RVU calculation is 1 Million Subscriptions. A Subscription is a single connection used by a Licensee to access the network, including but not limited to connections which access the network by registered mobile, DSL, CATV and other registered devices. A Licensee may have multiple connections, and a separate entitlement is required for each connection.

For any entitlements acquired by Licensee identified as for the Enterprise Edition of the program, Licensee must obtain sufficient RVU entitlements to cover all Subscriptions.

If the program is designated as "Project Edition," the program is limited to be deployed for a single business purpose, function or program, or with a single application within Licensee's Enterprise. For any entitlements acquired by Licensee identified as for the Project Edition of the program, Licensee must obtain sufficient RVU entitlements to cover all Subscriptions for each project separately. The RVU entitlements for each project are calculated separately, each starting at the first tier of the RVU conversion table. RVU entitlements can not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with RVU entitlements of another project.

Resource Value Unit Conversion Table

  • From 1 to 2 Resources, 1.00 RVU per Resource
  • From 3 to 5 Resources, 2 RVUs plus 0.90 RVUs per Resource above 2
  • From 6 to 10 Resources, 4.7 RVUs plus 0.80 RVUs per Resource above 5
  • From 11 to 20 Resources, 8.7 RVUs plus 0.70 RVUs per Resource above 10
  • From 21 to 35 Resources, 15.7 RVUs plus 0.60 RVUs per Resource above 20
  • From 36 to 50 Resources, 24.7 RVUs plus 0.45 RVUs per Resource above 35
  • For more than 50 Resources, 31.45 RVUs plus 0.30 RVUs per Resource above 50
