Description

Top rule

Whether you are a public cloud service provider or your company has implemented its own private or hybrid delivery model, the cloud presents challenges. The always-on dynamic nature of cloud services requires an infrastructure that can adapt, grow, and provide consistently low response times under any workload. Delivering high performance while managing complex infrastructures can be costly. You must mitigate the impacts of variable customer use cases, application workloads, and noisy neighbors with high input/output (I/O) demands that can conflict with other applications. The cost of switching service providers is low and if you don't offer outstanding service, you will lose your customers.

Achieving the flexibility, scalability, and performance essential to successful cloud service providers requires a new approach to data storage. IBM FlashSystem A9000 integrates the extreme performance of IBM FlashCore technology, highly parallel architecture, and comprehensive data reduction in one powerful solution. Whether you are a service provider requiring highly efficient management or an enterprise implementing cloud on a budget, IBM FlashSystem A9000 delivers the consistent, reliable, and efficient storage you need.

Consistent high performance

IBM FlashSystem A9000 is designed to accelerate your workloads to help you reduce costs, increase revenue, meet demanding SLAs, and improve customer satisfaction. IBM FlashCore technology forms the all-flash foundation of IBM FlashSystem A9000. The system utilizes IBM MicroLatency® modules that leverage IBM-enhanced 3D-TLC flash to provide exceptional density, low latency, extremely high I/O, and greater reliability. Fundamental to the offering are many hardware-accelerated I/O features, redundant backplanes, nonblocking crossbar switching, and hardware-based RAID controllers designed to deliver consistent microsecond latency with market-leading performance.

High-availability

IBM FlashCore technology in IBM FlashSystem A9000 systems includes industry-leading data protection and endurance capabilities that enable enterprises to address the full range of application performance or system latency requirements and deliver greater than 99.999% availability. IBM FlashCore technology keeps your data safe with enterprise-class data protection features, such as IBM Variable Stripe RAID™ technology and IBM-engineered error correction codes, while proprietary flash media wear leveling, health binning, heat segregation, and garbage collection eliminate most flash wear-out and management challenges. In addition, IBM FlashSystem A9000 includes Spectrum Accelerate software to enable redirect-on-write space-efficient snapshots, along with asynchronous and synchronous replication to deliver granular data protection without increasing costs.

To deliver high availability levels that exceed the IBM FlashSystem A9000R 99.999% availability, the system embeds a native implementation of IBM HyperSwap® capability, delivering active-active data access and transparent failover, per volume, across IBM FlashSystem A9000 and IBM FlashSystem A9000R arrays and across data centers.

Greater efficiency with lower costs

IBM FlashSystem A9000 enables your business to benefit from greater storage efficiency and lower costs from the moment of deployment and for years to come. IBM enhanced 3D-TLC NAND flash technology provides three times greater density than previous storage media, reducing both capital and operational expenses without compromising performance. Flash-optimized data reduction capabilities, including pattern removal, inline global deduplication, and enhanced inline compression, help lower storage costs throughout both structured and unstructured data environments. IBM FlashSystem A9000 microsecond latency helps your business improve data economics even further by increasing staff productivity and enabling consolidation of servers, which can cut software licensing costs. Fewer servers and reduced storage requirements can also translate into lower power, cooling, and data center expenses.

Purpose-built for the cloud

From installation through years of efficient operation, IBM FlashSystem A9000 is designed with simplicity in mind. Its integrative approach provides flexibility to help you easily manage and grow your infrastructure. IBM Hyper-Scale Manager enables you to orchestrate private and hybrid multitenant cloud environments at very large scales. IBM Hyper-Scale Manager enables you to manage multiple IBM FlashSystem A9000, IBM FlashSystem A9000R, IBM XIV, and IBM Spectrum Accelerate™ solutions from a single pane of glass. Cross-generation, asynchronous replication between your A9000 and XIV Gen3 systems is simplified by the IBM Hyper-Scale Manager user-interface, allowing you to leverage your XIV Gen3 investment and lower the cost of data protection and disaster recovery. Hyper-Scale Mobility enables you to simply and nondisruptively consolidate XIV Gen3 systems into fewer IBM FlashSystem A9000 systems with minimal operational impacts. Multi-tenancy features simplify delegation and segregate storage-management access among storage administrators and tenants. QoS features help ensure that tenant service levels aren't compromised. These capabilities, paired with consistent high performance and optimized economics, make IBM FlashSystem A9000 the right choice for a cloud-scale business.

IBM FlashSystem A9000 integrates easily into your existing data center infrastructure and also integrates with a wide variety of cloud environments, including solutions for Kubernetes container environments, as well as IBM Cloud Private, VMware, OpenStack, and Microsoft environments, at no additional cost.

To further eliminate risk, IBM delivers industry-leading worldwide customer support and solution maintenance to help ensure that IBM FlashSystem A9000 can deliver the highest possible performance, enduring economics, and business value for years into the future.

IBM Global Financing

IBM Global Financing offers competitive financing to credit-qualified customers to assist them in acquiring IT solutions. Offerings include financing for IT acquisition, including hardware, software, and services, from both IBM and other manufacturers or vendors. Offerings (for all customer segments: small, medium, and large enterprise), rates, terms, and availability can vary by country. Contact your local IBM Global Financing organization or go to the IBM Global Financing website for more information.

IBM Global Financing offerings are provided through IBM Credit LLC in the United States and other IBM subsidiaries and divisions worldwide to qualified commercial and government customers. Rates are based on a customer's credit rating, financing terms, offering type, equipment type and options, and may vary by country. Other restrictions may apply. Rates and offerings are subject to change, extension, or withdrawal without notice.

Financing solutions from IBM Global Financing can help you stretch your budget and affordably acquire the new product. But beyond the initial acquisition, our end-to-end approach to IT management can also help keep your technologies current, reduce costs, minimize risk, and preserve your ability to make flexible equipment decisions throughout the entire technology lifecycle.
