IBM Security Identity and Access Assurance V1.2 components

IBM Tivoli Identity Manager V5.1

Tivoli Identity Manager provides an automated and policy-based solution that helps effectively manage user accounts, access permissions, and passwords from creation to termination across IT environments. It helps automate the processes of creating and provisioning or de-provisioning user privileges across heterogeneous IT resources throughout the entire user lifecycle.

Tivoli Identity Manager can help increase user efficiency, reduce IT administration costs, and manage compliance with your security policies with centralized user account maintenance (including self-service interfaces), delegated administration, automated approvals processing, periodic revalidation of user access rights, documentation of controls, and other standard reports.

Tivoli Identity Manager helps bridge the gap between how business users view their IT resources and the actual IT implementation of user access rights, maximizes productivity of the various groups of users involved in identity management, and accelerates and simplifies system deployment and ongoing administration.

Role mining and lifecycle management, provided by the IBM Security Role and Policy Modeler component, helps reduce time and effort to design a role and access structure for the enterprise, and automates the process to validate the access information and role structure with the business owners.

IBM Security Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On V8.2

Security Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On V8.2 addresses single sign-on requirements inside the organization and helps simplify, strengthen, and track access by integrating with strong authentication, access workflow automation, fast user switching, and audit reporting. Security Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On V8.2 is one of the leading access management solution that enables users to log into all of their applications with a single password. This can help significantly reduce password management and help desk costs, while helping improve user productivity.

Security Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On automatically tracks and audits user access to information, so compliance reporting is also simplified. Support for strong authentication devices such as smart cards, biometrics, and access badges can help organizations address government and industry regulations and protect access to sensitive information.

IBM Tivoli Access Manager for e-business V6.1.1

Tivoli Access Manager for e-business delivers updated application security and web single sign-on solutions to manage and enforce secure user access to a wide variety of web applications and services. IBM Tivoli Access Manager for e-business is a solution for web application security enforcement. This helps IT operations to manage and enforce user access management across the enterprise.

IBM Tivoli Federated Identity Manager V6.2.2

Tivoli Federated Identity Manager delivers enhanced federated single sign-on and identity mediation services to expand access to consumers, and helps provide secure collaboration with business partners, including enforced access to Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud-based services. It enables compliance reporting in service-oriented architecture (SOA) environments. Tivoli Federated Identity Manager is a management solution for application security that helps expand access control to external business partners and consumers without having to manage their individual identities. This helps lines of businesses secure collaboration with business partners and subsidiaries. It helps IT operations by allowing a modular upgrade to IBM Tivoli Access Manager for e-business to centrally manage and enforce user access to on-premises and off-premise applications, including SaaS and cloud-based services.

User activity monitoring technology from IBM Tivoli Security Information and Event Manager V2.0

The user activity monitoring technology uses W7 methodology that helps you interpret native user audit log data in easily understood language. With this information at your fingertips, you can:

Licensing metric definitions and pricing examples

Licensing metric definitions

User Value Unit (UVU)

UVU is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. UVU Proofs of Entitlement (PoEs) are based on the number and type of users for the given program. Licensee must obtain sufficient entitlements for the number of UVUs required for licensee's environment as specified in the table below. The UVU entitlements are specific to the program and type of user and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with UVU entitlements of another program or type of user.

The users for the purposes of UVU calculation are the sum of all internal users, external users, and infrequent users given access to the program.

User Value Unit conversion table

Pricing examples

The following examples are provided to illustrate your licensing requirements.

IBM Security Identity and Access Assurance V1.2

The following scalable usage model is used to determine the required UVU to purchase. Licensee must obtain the appropriate number of UVU entitlements based on the type of user given access to the program, as previously described:

Note 1: Security Identity and Access Assurance V1.2 requires a minimum order quantity of 2,000 users.

Note 2: Security Identity and Access Assurance V1.2 does not include the IBM Tivoli Identity Manager Application and Host adapters. These adapters, which are purchased separately from Tivoli Identity Manager, must also be purchased separately for Tivoli Identity Manager component of Security Identity and Access Assurance.

Example 1

A large enterprise is required to manage and protect 12,000 users on their internal network.

The initial users they want to manage are as follows:

Calculate User Value Units

The customer would purchase 8,500 User Value Units of Security Identity and Access Assurance V1.2. Refer to the calculation below based on the scalable usage model referenced above.

IBM Electronic Services
Bottom rule

IBM has transformed its delivery of hardware and software support services to help you achieve higher system availability. Electronic Services is a web-enabled solution that offers an exclusive, no-additional-charge enhancement to the service and support available for IBM servers. These services are designed to provide the opportunity for greater system availability with faster problem resolution and preemptive monitoring. Electronic Services comprises two separate, but complementary, elements: Electronic Services news page and Electronic Services Agent.

The Electronic Services news page is a single Internet entry point that replaces the multiple entry points traditionally used to access IBM Internet services and support. The news page enables you to gain easier access to IBM resources for assistance in resolving technical problems.

The Electronic Service Agent™ is no-additional-charge software that resides on your server. It monitors events and transmits system inventory information to IBM on a periodic, client-defined timetable. The Electronic Service Agent automatically reports hardware problems to IBM. Early knowledge about potential problems enables IBM to deliver proactive service that may result in higher system availability and performance. In addition, information collected through the Service Agent is made available to IBM service support representatives when they help answer your questions or diagnose problems. Installation and use of IBM Electronic Service Agent for problem reporting enables IBM to provide better support and service for your IBM server.
