Overview
Weather Company Data Packages - Cleaned Historical adds historical data derived from the High-Resolution Rapid Refresh model. The data, available through an API subscription, is useful for organizations desiring a high-resolution data set for correlation and analytic purposes.
What is new:
- 1km x 1km resolution variables across the contiguous US derived from historical High-Resolution Rapid Refresh model data.
- Temperature, wind speed, wind gusts, wind direction, and hail diameter variables.
- Historical archive dating back to May 30, 2015.
The user can request information for a specific geolocation (latitude and longitude) or other location identifier (for example, postal code) for a historical date range. The API returns the requested historical data in one of the supported delivery formats (for example, CSV or JavaScript™ Object Notation). Predefined subscription levels are available.

The data packages extend Weather Company Data for IBM Cloud entry point offering for developers with a richer set of data services. It gives users the ability to embed weather into their own applications or build new applications. All of this is in addition to using the industry-oriented weather solutions offerings for aviation, energy, media, and insurance currently available from IBM.
