Description
Bottom rule

IBM ODM is a comprehensive and consumable, business-operational, decision-management platform that provides visibility, collaboration, and management of your business decision logic. It includes tooling and run time for design, execution, monitoring, and simulation. It is specifically designed to make it easy for process owners and business users to engage directly in the definition and change of their business decisions.

IBM ODM Pattern V8.0.1 is a combination of IBM ODM and the operating system optimized to run in server virtualization environments. This pre-optimized pattern is designed to accelerate the set up and management of complex, highly available, and production-ready business rule management environments.

Using this pattern helps reduce set up and management of your decision management solutions to focus critical resources on value-add activities and accelerate the expansion of ODM across your enterprise.

IBM ODM Pattern consists of a single image and requires entitlement to the following Hypervisor Editions.

IBM ODM Pattern supports:

Note: Additional entitlements may be required in the IBM Workload Deployer environment.

IBM PureApplication System is a hardware system that provides a scalable, virtualized environment to run your applications. It is designed to quickly deploy new application workloads via predefined patterns, into a virtualized environment, and to allow additional capacity, as needed, in a building-block fashion. It is designed to help you manage workloads intelligently with set service levels for key application workloads and automatically meet them, and to easily update an entire application stack through a single point of management. It can help accelerate cloud initiatives and reduce lifecycle costs.

For more information about IBM PureApplication System W1700, refer to Software Announcement 213-091, dated February 5, 2013.

For more information about IBM PureApplication System W1500, refer to Software Announcement 212-117, dated April 11, 2012.

IBM Workload Deployer Appliance is a cloud computing appliance that manages IBM software products in a cloud environment. It dispenses patterns of virtual images into a pool of virtualized resources running a supported hypervisor. The optimization for deployment speed and agility enables an entirely new usage paradigm for IBM ODM built around rapid set up and tear down. For instance, test cases can be based upon a standardized deployment that is destroyed and reinstalled after each execution.

For more information about IBM Workload Deployer, 3.1, refer to Software Announcement 212-171, dated April 11, 2012.

Processor Value Unit (PVU)

PVU is a unit of measure by which the program can be licensed. The number of PVU entitlements required is based on the processor technology (defined within the PVU table by processor value, brand, type, and model number at the website below) and the number of processors made available to the program. IBM continues to define a processor, for the purpose of PVU-based licensing, to be each processor core on a chip. A dual-core processor chip, for example, has two processor cores. The PVU table can be found at

http://www.ibm.com/software/lotus/passportadvantage/pvu_licensing_for_customers.html

Licensee can deploy the program using either full capacity licensing or virtualization capacity (sub-capacity) licensing according to the Passport Advantage Sub-Capacity Licensing Terms (refer to the web page below). If using Full Capacity licensing, Licensee must obtain PVU entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores1 in the physical hardware environment made available to or managed by the program, except for those servers from which the program has been permanently removed. If using Virtualization Capacity licensing, Licensee must obtain entitlements sufficient to cover all activated processor cores made available to or managed by the program, as defined according to the Virtualization Capacity License Counting Rules at

http://www.ibm.com/software/lotus/passportadvantage/Counting_Software_licenses_using_sp ecific_virtualization_technologies.html
1
An activated processor core is a processor core that is available for use in a physical or virtual server, regardless of whether the capacity of the processor core can be or is limited through virtualization technologies, operating system commands, BIOS settings, or similar restrictions.

Statement of good security practices
Bottom rule

IT system security involves protecting systems and information through prevention, detection, and response to improper access from within and outside your enterprise. Improper access can result in information being altered destroyed or misappropriated or can result in misuse of your systems to attack others. Without a comprehensive approach to security, no IT system or product should be considered completely secure and no single product or security measure can be completely effective in preventing improper access. IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective. IBM does not warrant that systems and products are immune from the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
