Description
Bottom rule

Application Discovery V5.0.2:

  • Operates across multiple languages and environments and parses different application component types, such as source code and operating systems scripts.
  • Includes files, screen maps, transactions, and messaging system configuration data.
  • Visualizes applications' internal structure and dependencies.
  • Uses rich, static code analysis functionality to give users the opportunity to select and configure their own analysis starting point and then navigate across or drill down as dictated by the development, maintenance, or support task at hand.
  • Enhances the ability of enterprise development teams to understand application interdependencies with impact analysis for PL/I and IMS™/DB offerings.
  • Alerts developers of applications by using PL/I or IMS/DB to the sections of code that are impacted by a potential change. They can easily check them to see if updates are needed. Without these advanced analytics, developers would need to manually check thousands or millions of lines of code in hopes that they would find the ones that need to be changed. This greatly increases the risk of error.
Application Delivery Intelligence V5.0.2

  • Correlates and analyzes data from development and operations tools to help enterprises optimize application delivery. To help clients anticipate and reduce the risk of production failures.
  • Collects and analyzes:
    • Transaction response time
    • DB2® wait time and File I/O wait time
    • CPU time
    • Execution count
    • Usage frequency data from OMEGAMON for CICS
    • Code coverage data from COBOL, PL/I, and Java™ environments
  • Gathers program-level application inventory, complexity, and quality metrics from Version 5.0.2 to help development teams manage improvements in application quality and maintainability over time. The transaction composition map shows the user call graph that is related to problematic transaction. Users can customize the metrics and rank the artifacts cognitively to pin point the artifacts that need to be worked on. It also helps development managers compare and monitor the health of their application projects whether they are being developed by employees or contractors.

IBM Application Delivery Intelligence V5 now provides a new continuous delivery and support model which delivers both fixes and new functional enhancements as a set of modification-level updates. This enables clients to obtain more rapid access to functional enhancements. IBM Application Discovery and IBM Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence continue to provide this continuous delivery and support model.

Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence V5.0.2 leverages the integration between Application Discovery and Application Delivery Intelligence to help optimize application development and prioritize quality improvements.

Developers can correlate the complexity and quality data from static analysis with the transaction health for the most frequently used transactions to improve quality and reduce the risk of production failures.

Testers can:

  • Eliminate redundant test cases.
  • Prioritize tests for the most frequently used transactions that are based on code coverage and complexity analysis also to reduce the risk of production failures.

Managers can monitor transaction health by frequency of use to help drive projects as needed to improve quality.

Accessibility by people with disabilities

Virtual Server

Virtual Server is a unit of measure by which the Program can be licensed. A server is a physical computer that is comprised of processing units, memory, and input/output capabilities and that executes requested procedures, commands, or applications for one or more users or client devices. Where racks, blade enclosures, or other similar equipment is being employed, each separable physical device (for example, a blade or a rack-mounted device) that has the required components is considered itself a separate server. A virtual server is either a virtual computer created by partitioning the resources available to a physical server or an unpartitioned physical server. Licensee must obtain Virtual Server entitlements for each virtual server made available to the Program, regardless of the number of processor cores in the virtual server or the number of copies of the Program on the virtual server.

Authorized User

Authorized User is a unit of measure by which the Program can be licensed. An Authorized User is a unique person who is given access to the Program. The Program may be installed on any number of computers or servers and each Authorized User may have simultaneous access to any number of instances of the Program at one time. Licensee must obtain separate, dedicated entitlements for each Authorized User given access to the Program in any manner directly or indirectly (for example: via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means. An entitlement for an Authorized User is unique to that Authorized User and may not be shared, nor may it be reassigned other than for the permanent transfer of the Authorized User entitlement to another person.

Note: Some programs may be licensed where devices are considered users. In that case the following applies: Any computing device that requests the execution of or receives for execution a set of commands, procedures, or applications from the Program or that is otherwise managed by the Program is considered a separate User of the Program and requires an entitlement as if that device were a person.

Floating User

Floating User is a unit of measure by which the Program can be licensed. A Floating User is a person who is accessing the Program at any particular point in time. An Install is an installed copy of the Program on a physical or virtual disk made available to be executed on a computer. The Program may be installed on any number of computers or servers, but if the Floating User simultaneously accesses more than one Install of the Program, the Floating User requires a separate entitlement for each such Install. Licensee must obtain separate entitlements for each Floating User simultaneously accessing the Program on each Install in any manner directly or indirectly (for example, through a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means.

Note: Some programs may be licensed where devices are considered users. In that case the following applies. Any computing device that requests the execution of or receives for execution a set of commands, procedures or applications from the Program or that is otherwise managed by the Program is considered a separate User of the Program and requires an entitlement as if that device were a person.

Statement of good security practices
Bottom rule

IT system security involves protecting systems and information through intrusion prevention, detection, and response to improper access from within and outside your enterprise. Improper access can result in information being altered, destroyed, or misappropriated or can result in misuse of your systems to attack others. Without a comprehensive approach to security, no IT system or product should be considered completely secure and no single product or security measure can be completely effective in preventing improper access. IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a regulatory compliant, comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective.

Important: IBM does not warrant that any systems, products, or services are immune from, or will make your enterprise immune from, the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
