Statement of direction: IBM LoadLeveler product plans and directionsIBM United States Software Announcement 212-520December 18, 2012
In January 2012, IBM® completed its acquisition of Platform Computing, a leader in cluster, grid, and high performance computing (HPC) cloud management software. In June 2012, IBM released an enhanced technical computing software portfolio based on Platform Computing offerings, including the IBM Platform LSF® Family. Platform LSF is a comprehensive set of intelligent, policy-driven, workload management and scheduling tools that can be used to manage high-performance workloads across a distributed, virtualized IT environment with up to one hundred percent utilization to help keep costs low. IBM is taking a major step toward integrating and optimizing its technical computing software portfolio by announcing the withdrawal of IBM LoadLeveler® for Linux on x86 Architecture from marketing, effective March 15, 2013, with support planned until April 30, 2015. Refer to Withdrawal Announcement 912-253, dated December 18, 2012 . IBM intends for IBM Platform LSF to be the strategic workload manager and scheduler on the x86 platform. IBM plans to continue to evaluate and integrate key features of LoadLeveler to enhance the Platform LSF offering. In addition, IBM intends to continue to support LoadLeveler on IBM Blue Gene/Q Systems and IBM POWER® platforms. To that end, the following LoadLeveler products continue to be marketed:
LoadLeveler clients are encouraged to contact their IBM sales representative to request an evaluation copy of Platform LSF and put in place a plan to transition to IBM Platform LSF .
